How many millions of jobs were saved by the bank bailouts? Bank of America employs more people then GM and Chrysler combined and the bailouts saved Bank of America and several other hundred banks.

It is a pity that the interesting discussion concerning the automotive industry degenerated into a Republican vs. Democrat/Liberal vs. Conservative mudslinging session. Thank you for your efforts, CBS moderators - I can see you have your hands full. Had some of the people posting here listened to the entire Sunday Morning show they would have heard a very pleasant commentary about civil discussion by Bob. Thanks for that too.
Cheers.

Let me spin it this way. The only reason GM survived their mismanagement is because Socialist Odumbo bailed them out. The unions also took part in it's failure. You Communists (Liberals) can spin on it all they like.

Yah !!!
You are right.
Look what Bush did for the economy !!!
All of those wars 'n' stuff ....
Let me know if/when you plan to get your head out of
Faux Noise's Arse.

I find Ron Paul to be more sincere re: denying supply-side bailouts:
======================================================================
Mr. Toad:
The auto bailouts saved THOUSANDS of jobs.
Your pie-in-the-sky nonsense (ala Ron Paul) is nonsense.
Autoworker jobs (and the jobs of thousands of part suppliers)
are reality.
Your nonsense is, well, NONSENSE.

If the Republicans had their way, it would only be the Little Two instead of the Big Three.

Where would the auto industry be now if we had done what the business genius Mitt Romney wanted and not bailed them out and let them go bankrupt?

Has everyone finally figured out by now the guy started out rich, with rich parents and rich friends, and then made himself richer. Not by generating business but by destroying many of them, and their employees. He would have done the same with General Motors.

Of course in the process, he would have put tens of millions of dollars in his pocket.

HMMM how come no fluff piece about how great the banks are doing becasue of the Bailouts they recieved from Bush.

I guess bailouts are only good when Obama does them. By the way the banks have paid back their bailout money. GM is still owned by the governemtn and Chrylers still owes several billion to the government.

Republicans hate this because it puts the spotlight on their anti-capitalist agenda.
