- whitemale08: Life expectance in 1913 was in the low 50s. That would make retirement a nonstarter. Sure some would live longer, but some would die much younger [especially in childhood]. You could move to Zimbabwe and see if you like it.

Zimbabwe is the way it is because the British Commonwealth is punishing the Zimbabwean people with sanctions.
Again if we tell the British to leave the rest of the world alone and dismantle ''globalization'' so no one country is powerfull enough to press for sanctions in the U.N. Security Council then countries like Zimbabwe would be free and truly sovereign on their own. - Reply to this comment

- My great great grandmother who was born in 1893 died a few years ago at the age of 106. As a matter of fact people back then were much healthier without all of the Tylenol and indigestion pills.

....and not to mention that the food back then was fresh unprocessed, and free of any chemicals that we have today.
Most people back then lived on farms. - Reply to this comment

- whitemale08: Certainly, you are not saying that the life expectancy in 1913 was 80 years.

- BChamplain: Hopefully the Republicans will treat Obama with the same degree of respect that Democrats have shown Reagan and the two Bushes.
