Hmmm...

A very BIG thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Adelson!

It would be great if other people with money could join forces with the Adelson''s and help with this recognition, and maybe expand it.

We must not forget that there are other veterans with scars and traumas. Those are veterans from WWII, Korea and Viet Nam; and unfortunately, their numbers are diminishing every day.

They too deserve some recognition and a thank you.

Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Adelson are leading the charge of not repeating the past, and for that, I thank them.

A year ago, both my son and son in law were in Iraq. Thankfully they got home safe, physically anyway. I watched this story as probably many mother''s and other family members of veterans from this war did, with tears pouring out.

When my son made it to Baltimore he called and said "Mom, I''ve kept it together pretty well and after 4 days of no sleep that''s not been easy....but when we entered the Baltimore Airport, the walls were lined with people with signs and flags and shaking our hands and thanking us. Then a 3 or 4 yr old girl came up and shook my hand, saying Thank You, and I lost it" We then cried together on the phone, in relief, and thankfulness for the people of Baltimore (and other places do this also).... for the warm welcome back to home..but more importantly, to safety.

He ended the call saying, "Mom, I''m safe now." His young wife and I cried all that day and for the following 3 or 4. I think we had so much kept inside, holding our breath, that we could finally breathe.

What a joyous tearful reunion we had a few hours later. My son in law has a similar story, having gone thru Maine to a wonderful reception, and then on to CA to his young wife, my daughter.

No one knows, unless you''ve "been there" how taxingly painful this is. Veteran''s Day certainly has new meaning to me, but in that I include honoring the families of these who were willing to give so much. THANK YOU for this wonderful story......for not forgetting....for honoring.
