I want to say that I for one appreciate your experience and I hope that your experience can be one of many that may finally get us to realize that health care is a right and not some damm luxury.

Good program but you totally missed the point. France has NO malpractice, you can do no wrong, can''t get sued and there is NO Trial Lawyer''s Assoc. Now if you remove a trillion dollar load from our health care system do you think we would have any problem insuring all our citizens? Matter of fact when you factor in loss wages from jurors having to sit at trial, judges time and costs, trial lawyers fees, expert witness fees (I personally have seen some PHYSICIANS gut the system) and perhaps a 100 other ancillary costs it may be more than a trillion dollars per year!
Bottom line is that you cannot have universal health care, ie. Socialized Medicine co-exist with a capitalistic legal system. It is an oxymoron.
Perhaps next Sunday you should tell "the rest of the story" to quote Paul Harvey.

Quote "So what is the complaining for then? Doesn''''t the uninsured eventually get the care they need in the hospitals at the insureds expence? Oh yeah, it IS a little inconvenient for them to have to wait for hours for free care. Been there, done that, started paying $600 per month for my family insurance policy instead of Nike shoes and SUV''''s for everybody."

I''m sorry for the way you feel on this issue. I did not give up my insurance for " Nike shoes or an SUV. I did not plan on getting cancer before going on to my next job/ If you haven''t been there, then please do not judge people.
I did 16 rounds of Chemo, without a port? When I go for labs, they can''t get any in anywhere to draw the blood.Do you have any idea the pain that is?
I lost my home, all my possesions and almost my life. My ong. knows my cancer will come back, do you think I choose to be uninsured?
I cannot get insurance at this point. And no, I do not get Medicaid or Disabilty, thank you? Do you know what it is like to not be able to sleep at night not knowing what your life will be like the next day? Or you can''t sleep because you have so much pain from all the drugs they put in you to save your life? Do you know what it is like to be homeless while going though cancer? I think you more then likely don''t.
So please don''t judge me or anyone else that is uninsured unless you know their story, mine you just read.

I''ll tell you I miss my 35k a year job, what do I have now I don''t make 15k, why because I live in Ohio and we are the dust belt now. I just spent 4 days in hospital, and yes the hospital covered my stay but I still have to pay the dr, the blood work, the heart scan the medications and the list goes on to several thousand dollars, now where am I going to get that? I didn''t ask for this, but to listen to some of you it''s my fault that the economy suxs and I should just grin and bear it. Well try downsizing you life more than half and see what you can do. Yes I am angry but I have a family that needs me so I will figure it out.

Yeah, all you smart people on here are right. The US government should administer and charge us ALL for our health insurance instead of letting private companies. Afterall, we all know that the US government really knows how to run an efficient profitable or at least budget neutral business now. Lets let our government show us how its done. (Yeah right...)LOL.
Its OK. If the US government messes it all up, they can just get ANOTHER $700 BILIION BAILOUT for it, right? But at least we can all have free health insurance.

And what is ironic - people who have no health care go to hospitals and that cost is just passed on to those who have health care in the form of higher fees and costs.

Since the US spends more on health care - per capita and % of GDP - than anyone else in the world, while access and quality are near the bottom, why can''t we do better for less? Universal coverage does not have to cost more or mean huge tax increases - it would cost less! Our citizens should be the winners instead of the insurance companies. The Europeans seem to have figured it out and were at least as smart as they are.

You know what I changed my mind about Obama! I think he will be better for national security and the economy!

Plus sarah palin $150,000.00 on clothes, most Americans could have bought a home for that amount!

Besides I think Sarah Palin is really a Terrorist

Americans are too stupid to believe that a univeral health care system could ever save them money.Private work based health insurance is all they have ever known known. Once retiring they experience their first socialized medical care(Medicare) and never complain again about health care other then to say please never take it away!!!!!
