I understand Mr. Stein''s position but question his conclusion that the U.S. would not confront Russia if she invaded Poland.

As a member of NATO, does Poland not have the right to be defended in accordance with their standing in the organization? And does the U.S. not have an obligation to come to Poland''s defense?

If Mr. Stein believes we appear weak now, what would the world community think if we ignored our obligation to our NATO partners by failing to act.

Stein: "So if Russia invades, which they''ve strongly hinted they may do, we''ll do nothing - and look weak again"

This would be a good time for China to take Taiwan back.

The ignorance and arrogance of the Bushit doctrines is being continued by "Forked Tongue" McClone and "Bush baby" Palin.

And it looks a lot like McCain may have provoked the action in Georgia, that has had such poor consequences for aggressor Saakashvili, for boosting his own domestic political fortunes.

McCain apparently is just fine with thousands of innocent bystanders dying as long as he gets a boost in the polls.

Maybe Palin can look over at Russia from Alaska (woops! can''t see it from Anchorage!) and discern the next move.

Note to Palin--the Russians play hockey too--and chess as well. That may be a game she is less familiar with.
