- The Republican Party greed has made the U.S. an orphan to the world economy. This madness should have been sieze back in the Nixon era - when he took America off the Gold standard.
Vote Constitutionist and put the republican party on trail for treason. - Reply to this comment

- Only Airbus is stupid enough to be blackmailed into giving away the farm to sell some airplanes to China.
Boeing flat refused to let them assemble planes there, but Airbus is going to allow the Chinese to steal their intelectual property by not only having an assembly plant in China, but having the Chinese run it.
And, this is after the Chinese have announced they are going to become a competitor.
Is it any wonder EADS management was recently caught inside trading ? Pathetic, simply pathetic. - Reply to this comment

Do honestly think it is that simple? I suppose it is if you want to pay 2000 bucks for an iphone or 30 bucks for a pair of socks.
The fact is, the U.S. and the rest of the modern world is addicted to affluent living that is subsidized by low priced Chinese goods. - Reply to this comment

- Hou812: We used to manufacture goods in the U.S. while we were still in the industrial age. We are a bit past that and we''d rather let the Chinese work the sweat shops so we can be more profitable and more competitive. If you didn''t have the cheapest workers, we''d find somewhere else to build... Mexico, Central America, etc.

- maybe we should ask Steve Jobs, no pun intended, why he didn''t manufacture the Iphone in America! I''m able to converse with you fine people with that fine piece of technology!

- The United States is owned by China, Saudi Arabia, and anybody else that has money. If the United States decided to deport people from China, they would lose most of their scientist. Most of the people working in the top secret sector are from China and India and Saudi Arabia. The United States is not even a real country. Just a place to do business.

- Amazing! Another country coming to eat our lunch. What happened to Japan? They were going to inherit the world in the 90''s... Remember? And then, they suddenly imploded. China? Repeat after me, kids, bubbles have a bad tendency to burst. America sukks? Go back to where you came from... I am sure things are better over there. If you are from Spain, France or Italy, I hope your papers are in order to go get on the unemployment line... Their marvelously cultured economies are crumbling under 12% unemployment. The Euro? Maybe you haven''t been keeping tabs on the Euro''s free fall? Get real and if you don''t like it here, get out... It is a fairly simple choice. Go back to Mexico, Venezuela, Europe, China or wherever it was that you came from... You left because you were starving and unemployed or because they jailed you because you spoke ill of the dictator in charge. I am sure things are better now. Be sure to write to tell us how it worked out for you!!!

"Should"? The West WON''T stop trading with China. Unlike the West, China has no problem letting its people suffer. There are too many anyway, hence their one-child policy. China can sustain hardship much better than the Western democracies. - Reply to this comment

- I sure hope being President of the UC Board of Regents will be enough of a payoff to Richard Blum for Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D., CA) to stop selling America to China so her husband can get good business deals!
Don''t you have enough money and influence already, Dianne Feinstein and Richard Blum?
Or isn''t enough to have sold out a whole generation of science, technology, and manufacturing workers to Asia to line your own pockets? - Reply to this comment
- Thanks Bill Clinton, thanks George Bushes (Sr. and Jr.), thanks Hillary, thanks Dianne Feinstein, for sending our science and technology jobs to Asia and Red China just so you could personally add to your wealth.
Thanks, traitors! - Reply to this comment
- nordeck52: You are correct, but we''re talking about present history. The fact that the parties basically switched place only further puts the present GOP in a bad light.
