I liked Andy Rooney''s comments on "60 Minutes" a while back. Statistics are statistics. Could there be a
"Federation of United Caucasians"? You bet there couldn''t! There is LEGAL discrimination & Illegal discrimination.
So how do we stop crime? The police will surely show up after the event and will take responsibility for solving it. The victim still has been victimized!
Don''t become the victim! Protect yourself and your loved ones by whatever means you can. If you don''t like guns, get pepper spray, learn one or two of the martial arts,if you wallet is deep get a body guard.
Educate yourself on the use of deadly force and when it is necessary.
I WILL USE WHATEVER MEANS POSSIBLE TO PROTECT MY LOVED ONES AND MYSELF!

Why would a program that is supposed to be news related lend credence to such an unfounded, biased and frankly embarrassing display of misguided emotion.

Nancy states that putting on a costume gun altered her perception and attitude. The implication is that she felt empowered and somehow dangerous? Are we to assume that an intelligent, educated person can be transformed into a deviant personality by touching an inanimate object? How sad to see that presented on a national program!

I''ve raised two girls that never played with guns because they were taught at an early age that guns weren''t toys, cruelty to animals was unacceptable, and respecting other human beings was important. They are adults now. They relate normally to others, still handle firearms safely and have showed no signs of this insidious transformation that Nancy claims to have experienced. Makes me wonder what Nancy feels behind the wheel of a car, an even bigger piece of steel, associated with far more deaths than guns.

I''ll never again hear you name or see your face that I won''t doubt the credibility of your opinion... and the credibility of CBS as well, for allowing you to imply that the human race is destined to exhibit malevolent behavior. I''''m a black male in my 30s. While I''''m offended by some of the prejudiced comments made in response to Nanny Guile''''s editorial, what offends me more is the ignorance exuded from my television early this morning.

For her to suggest that guns are the problem and not people, like herself, who view guns as tools to be used in an exercise of power, is purely ignorant and irresponsible.

I grew up in a home where my father owned several handguns. I knew friends who owned rifles and used them for hunting, yes, as children and none of them have ever killed anyone.

Lawful people buy and register their guns properly. CRIMINALS DO NOT! Lawful people will use their firearms for hunting and/or self defense only. CRIMINALS DO NOT! Do you think that laws restricting guns or bullets would keep a person with the intent of harming another person from doing so? Or do you think that a more personal criminal, who kills with a knife, blunt object or hands is a less threatening, kinder sort?

We, Americans, do not take the responsibility for the liberties we have and we take them for granted. We allow everything by "rights": Driving, for instance, there are millions of people who drive that should never have been allowed to do so, they are dangerous beyond concept, they have in their hands weapons who can kill and maim with more brutality and carnage than a gun does.
Millions of people vote who do not have the IQ to understand the implication of their decision., they can kill a country with the push of a button; their weapon have far more implications that a gun.
Millions of people become parents that should never have had the right to become responsible for another life; more kids die or become rejects at the hands of irresponsible idiots who should not have been given the right to give birth. There are no test to judge if you are capable of having kids, there are no tests and education to assure that once you drive, you won''t kill someone by stupidity or carelessness.
