- Who cares what Ben Stein thinks? Anyone? Bueller? He''s an actor!
Gov. Spitzer is/was a sanctimonious, bullying hypocrite. In my mind, the fact that he availed himself of the world''s "oldest profession", was not, in and of itself, his main crime. It was the fact that he circumvented federal money laundering and home security laws. BS''s comment that Spitzer was undone by "some nosy civil servants" is completely off base. They were only doing what they were required to do.

- You have it wrong this time, Ben. Spitzer did himself in, not the Feds. When these powerful men take active moral stands on issues, and then proceed to exclude themselves from the very rules they espouse - it p-isses people off in triplicate.

- Judi beat me to it. I was going to say the same thing. It''s the hypocrisy that does these guys in, and you know who they are. I usually agree with Ben Stein''s editorials, a few times he has even moved me to tears, but this time he''s way off. C''mon Ben, surely your brilliant mind couldn''t have missed the point!

- Today Ben Stein really showed his republican better than thou attitude!! To allude that the IRS workers brought down Spitzer is really off base!
If the voters of New York had known what he was up to, he never would have been elected. Ben Stein forgets what the public servant is charged with doing in his job. That job is to serve the public of the United States without regard to any individual''s personal gain or loss. What kind of country would we have if every civil worker just simply kept his or her head down, ignoring what the elected officials do. Where were you Ben during the Nixon years???? - Reply to this comment

- Is Ben Stein Client No. 8??
Sounds like he could be with comments like he just made. First of all, prostituion is illegal and should be prosecuted. I am very saddened to hear so many people voice the opinion that the trafficking and sexual exploitation of girls, boys, women is acceptable and shouldn''t be prosecuted. The segment before Ben Stein actually chastised Madison for having slaves. I see no difference between slavery and prostitution. If as Ben Stein claims that tens of thousands of men use prostitutes every day, then more needs to be done in the way of prosecuting these men for their crimes.
I am a republican who voted for Spitzer. I am glad he is out as well. He certainly was not above the law and I hope to see him prosecuted fully for his crime. I too wish I could take back my vote for Spitzer -- what a dissapointment he turned out to be. - Reply to this comment
