Thats a lot of words that say "Beam me up Scotty, there''s no intelligent life here" - Reply to this comment
- Why is it that that nobody wants to live forever but nobody wants to die tomorrow? Why is it that nobody that worries about overpopulation ever volunteers to IMMEDIATELY vaccate the planet?
Why is it that living forever is more harrowing than being dead forever? - Reply to this comment
- It''s disconcerting to see the number of people living to a very old age with mental deterioration accompanying their aging. Such badly aging citizens could corrupt and damage the political system by supporting extremists, and make elder care and property management an impossible task. Long life is not as important as quality life...

- Exactly. Life is almost too long as it is.

Knew this one was coming. The birth rate will have to mimic the death rate. - Reply to this comment
- NO mention of crionics. Besides people don''t seem to think big numbers in this world. 1000 years? What about a billion, or a billion times that? What knowledge would you have with that kind of time and technological advancement? This is when sci-fi can''t even come close to a guess.

- While on the surface living for 300 years sounds like a great thing, but you must consider a few things. If the process is cheap then the Earth could be over run with a population that would just sap the world''s resources even quicker. If the process is expensive then the elites would be the only people who could afford it. Just another reason to hate the super rich.

- King Nebuchadnezzar died at age 68. Thomas Jefferson died at 84.
So much for the life expectancy going up. Naturally if there are more people, there are going to be more people of older age. It is population count that is going up.
How many of these science experiments have been found to be hoaxes? The missing link-hoax. Cloning-hoax. - Reply to this comment
- The ones who wish to keep living are the ones who have the most worldly wealth to lose and the most to fear in death. He who wishes to be first will be last.

Well said, mate. The rich are not only abominable traitors, they are abominable cowards. Or you could say that it is those who deserve to live the least who cling to their stolen riches and worthless cowardly lives the hardest. - Reply to this comment

- Any evidence that there is no hereafter? As their are thousands of claims of a world beyond this life after death.

Pardon my english, radio, I prefer to tell them "Nobody ever came back from ''nowhere''". once they think about it, they understand what I am alluding to. - Reply to this comment
- Exactly phil-in-Fin. Even people who "believe" in God have no idea what they even mean by that word. Do you believe the following sentence?

- With absolutely no evidence you are willing to believe in fantasy, much like the fantasy that science can allow you to live forever ...

And how do you know that the promise Jesus made in the Bible is true? Is this what''s gripping you to hold onto the Bible as truth?

- Good evening Tool I was targeting the article with my post about Wrangler genes made in Mexico and China. We to often create technology that is not necessary such as this and then outsource the technology along with the jobs. We are beginning to see the results of it.

- HiYa'' radio, In regard to my ''Designer Genes'' statement, I am not against genetic research (stem cell) as you know. I am against Gene manipulation for political or other reasons (forced evolution). With unchecked useage, Gene manipulation will give us super sized athletes that won''t fit, in normal society. what ever the mind can envision is available through Gene manipulation and I find that very unsettling.

- If they could only come up with a "drug" or something that would give the politicians their integrity and backbone, this might be worth pursuing.

- Given the way our dovernment is heading, towards dictatorship with the dream of the founding fathers of this country in shreds by a empire, profit-minded executive branch, a weak legislative branch, and a judicial branch the "stooge" of the executive, and corporations running our lives,
WHO WANTS TO LIVE FOREVER???!!!

Cool! I want to upgrade to the next Windows version!
But seriously, this reminds me of why we should support stem cell research -- we should have the option to trade our organs in when they no longer work properly. People who do not want to, don''t have to, but they shouldn''t stand in the way of those of us who would like to have that option. - Reply to this comment
