Ms. Giles:

I find your take on the GOP debate the other night wrong. You like your other liberaltards again has only focused on what could be considered as contriversial. The death penalty has been used by the United States since before the begining of the U.S. I am a Registered Conservative Republican and I beleive that if the death penalty was used in the case of first degree murder. I know the argument of there has been innocent people on death row. How about lets speed up the process and do the needed testing that proves innocence or guilty and if positive they go straight to the "room". just a thought. I am not for killing but you have killed or mollested a child then you should be put to death.
And whole little segment on the GOP Debate and the people that attended was simply diplorable. to\\To cattogorize everyone in that room as the same is just simply wrong. I have heard people on the left say that the Tea Party Activist are terroist and Prejudice and have assused the T.P.A. of Hanging Black People. Really show me the proof of that. I am sure there would be more the accusations, the media would break their legs trying to report on that.
And this is the second time this week I have commented on Dr. Ron Paul, if you would have been fair and unbiased you would have played the entire clip and listened to what he said. He disagreed with those FEW in the audiance that cheered at the 30 year old to die because he hasn't prepared. He said that before all this Government Intervention Hospitals relied on the goodness of Churches (of which you don't attend) and people who donated to hospitals to help take care of those who could not afford to pay. You should be fair and honest in your commentaries, you reach millions of people. And besides your beloved Obama Administration has done nothing to improve our current conditions. He is in way over his head, his staff has no clue. They or as we say in the South Y'all have had your turn and you/they did way worse. The elections have spoken. And quite frankly (Shocking) the Republicans have been just as much a part of it as the dem's, I really do not trust a career politician so Herman Cain is my man. GO CAIN!!

I doubt you will respond in any kind of way because you just spread rederic and feel no responsibility

After watching your commentary on the GOP presidential Debates and hearing your position on clearly being anti-capital punishment (especially after quoting bible the passage "Thou shalt not kill") I was wondering if you were also pro life and against abortions also like all the Republican candidates. I believe "I am my brother's keeper" and am anti-capital punishment AND pro-life. Are you?

Also, in response to your assertion that none of the candidates seemed to care when the audience applauded at innapropriate times, Governor Rick Perry said he was "taken aback" when U.S. Rep. Ron Paul was asked if a man who is sick should be left to die because he is uninsured and several people called out "Yeah" , according to NBC News.

It seems if you were going to put out a national commentary, at least you should get the whole story. But, then again, it is CBS.

Nancy, This is my first time every doing anything like what I am about do... write-in to give my humble opinion, about anything.

Regarding your comments today about the death penalty, etc:
I want to start by saying it is very clear and obvious that you are an incredibly "smart" & intelligent woman! It is also clear to me that you have very little understanding of Freedom, consequences, true love & grace, and the maturity that comes with a long period of time of fear of the Lord & creator of all things - seen and unseen. (I do understand that is a very bold & unsolicited comment so, I hope you will take all of my comments into full consideration - not just the ones you disagree with or, the ones any person would consider truly offensive. And, that you will get the MAIN point of my message.) There is a very big difference between having your intelligence, fame, success, public platform, etc... and being wise and, having wisdom that only comes from the "HEALTHY" fear of the creator.

There was an incredible diffidence between your views/attitudes and that of the wise Governor Mitch Daniels of Indiana had, just a few minutes before your segment. He is truly humble, and a servant of the people. Watch his interview again, and then yours. Any time people make "Bold Factual" statements without humility & love - it is very offensive, whether the statements are found true or not (including the ones I am making). You are right, we do Not know everything (as humans), let's not speak as if we actually do... Like only one is able to speak - the who actually knows all. Let's call on Him and, ask Him for knowledge and the abundance wisdom :o)

You are going to be a truly Great woman one day - I wish you, your family, and your wonderful career, all the greatest blessings!!

Sincerely, Lovingly,
Peter D. Gereluk

Do I want to be known as a Know-it-All to build myself up or, as someone that sees himself as less than others (to build THEM up)?

Nancy,
In reference to your commentary September 18, 2011, instead of highlighting the GOP debate you choose to highlight the "audience reaction to the death penalty OPINION given by Brian Williams", which of course you neglect to include Brian Williams in your story because after all Williams made a statement rather than pose a question to the candidates. This part became all about Brian Williams. It was the audience who applauded the death penalty NOT the candidates. Why not interview the audience for this story to get their feedback & reaction to Williams opinion? And why not talk about how abortion is applauded by so many. I mean, both have to do with the killing of our society and how we deserve so much better.

Further you reference that these people were invited guests-- this is true, however, you also imply that these are all INVITED GOP supporters which of course was not true. There were DEMOCRAT and INDEPENDENTS in that audience but guess you decided to leave that part out and let your home audience believe these were only republicans hootin' and hollerin'!

Bottom line Ms. Giles, how is this a story? Apparently CBS finds this fascinating enough that they had you do an entire segment on people clapping. I don't get it. Help me understand. I thought you were better than this kind of sensational, tabloid journalism?

As you report your views regarding the morality of the death penalty within the Conservative party, please remember that abortion is also murder of an innocent life as well. It's a woman's choice to kill her unborn baby plain and simple. It seems unfair that death row is murder because an innocent person may be killed while abortion is legal and celebrated in the Liberal party as just a choice...like tossing yesterday's roast. Life is life. We should all be either FOR both or AGAINST both.

Nancy - I just watched your segment on Sunday Morning on the much talked about Ron Paul question at the GOP debate. What I have to say to you and anyone who feels that Dr. Paul did something wrong is that I feel Wolf Blitzer was a terrible moderator in that he let his bias show. Blitzer was the one who posed the question - would you let this man die? The question was about health care. There are many people who could sacrifice other things in life to pay for health care, but do not. Things like alcohol, cigarettes, vacations, etc. Then there are people who do sacrifice other areas of their lives to pay for their health care. I agree that people have choices in life. The question is - is it the governments job to see that everyone gets health care? And what kind of health care. Will everyone be eligible for say - stem cell transplants? organ transplants? These are extremely expensive. If the government doesn't pay for everyone to have these - are they letting these people die? It is obvious that the government cannot pay our way - it does not work. Of course you know that government cannot pay for expensive cancer procedures. In response to your accusation that you did not hear a compassionate, spiritual response at the debate, I beg to differ - it indeed was Ron Paul's response. He suggested that charitable organizations could help the man in question. Everyone from both sides can argue and point fingers, but the truth is our country has to CUT spending, balance a budget and take more of government out of the equation. It is economically irresponsible to make an argument that American tax payers should pay for everyone's cancer treatment.

Nancy, I just saw your piece on the audiences at the Republican debates, and I am writing in disbelief to your point of view, in the hope I may clarify something. The people in the audience were not cheering for death or no medical treatment, they were cheering for NO GOVERNMENT MONEY to be paid to support these people. Yes the Bible states Thou shalt not kill, but Jesus also stated we are to "render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's", which includes following the laws of the land. As long as there is a death penalty, death row inmates will be put to death, and rightly so. The law calls for it. The government should make laws and GOVERN, not be a handout to everyone who can't help themselves. That is what churches and communities are called to do. The more taxes we pay in our communities, the less we are able to help!

I coult not find a article on Nancy Giles commentary this morning on Sunday Morning 09182011. But she is absolutely correct and right on the mark 98% of the time. I like her comments better than Ben (the money man) Steins (He must love October fest). Anyways The viewers and voters need to see and hear more about these topics. Much, Much More about the radical political terrorists as I have stated and posted to many sites and blogs. Then she needs to post more comments like this during the evening news and on the talk shows about the racism, and discord or these politicans and the mismay and demoralization of the voters. Kudos to you Nancy, I really hope to see more of your comments. And if you are reading this please get with Whoppi on the view and do a whole segment on political radicals.

Dear Nancy,
Regarding your commentary this morning regarding your position on the GOP debates, please don't push your political agenda or personal views on the death penalty. You quoted the bible to support your side of the argument, however, there are other countless ways to quote the bible to dispute your position. It is not the place of CBS News to push the political and social position of the United States. Granted, this is the network that fabricated the documents of President Bush's military record so I guess I'm not surprised. Let us, the people of the US, to determine what we want to believe. We don't need you, or any other commentator, to tell us what we should be believe or whom we should follow.
