To the religious:

God loves us
everyone of us

i heard this before

yet "God"
let's innocent babies die from diseases,
people suffer all their lives,
people die from natural disasters,
..etc

even though god can stop it anytime he wants

The religious somehow believe that
This is the brutal logic of God's plan...
and to add insult to injury
God demands to be worshiped!

What kind of a cruel, barbaric god
would let his creations suffer for no REASON

what is really amazing is that
the religious apolgetics are capable of rationalizing anything

such is the power of a brain washed mind

To the lucky few
"critical thinkers"

please take this oppurtonity
to get educated

These comments are basically...sad, very sad.
Minds filled with such hate....on a holy day, no less.
If you don't believe, fine, don't, but spare your venom against those of us who do.

The Bible, the Koran, and the Book of Mormon, all written by a falliable man to comfort and control the masses. Period. Your God did not write these books, nor did he commission, divinely inspire, or convince the human soul to do so either. Or did he? Three different prophets, with three very different stories, but the same truth. Believe and follow. If GOD did, there would only be one true religion and document to follow. Since there is not, one can only conclude that man created your beliefs to what comfort and control.

Now for some fun and games!!!

"TEST YOUR BIBLE KNOWLEDGE!!!"
Go to the following website for a 50 question test.

http://www.ffrf.org/quiz/bquiz.php

Don't worry its multiple choice so a wild guesses may count.

If your bible knowledge is based on Hollywood movies...you won't do well.

If your bible knowledge is based on Sunday school classes, bible classes, communion classes, and going to church every Sunday.....YOU WON'T DO WELL!!!!

Enjoy!!!

The bible offers nothing new to humanity

It does not explain our existence.
There is no explanation of the universe
...there is no clear moral code...etc

Please read "the god delusion" from richard dawkins..and throw you *** good for nothing
bible away.

To answer godin6, you can get the book titled
"Many Infallible Proofs" by Henry Morris. (you can find it on Amazon.com) In this book, you can find scientific proofs that points to the authenticity of the Bible. There are many others who have written on this subject, that go into great detail to answer your question. Please, at least take a serious look at these answers before rejecting the Bible.

If anyone has
proof
(scientific evidence)
that the bible is really the word of god by all means present it here...

until then the bible is FICTION
and bad fiction at that

REligious people believe in the bible
and don't demand any kind of proof.
This is hard for me to take.
It seems they are brainwashed beyond all hope.

The Bible's message has transformed my life. I believe that there are millions of other people that can testify that this book is like no other book, has been a blessing in their lives. Maybe these other "satisfied readers" are the reason that the Bible continues to be a "best seller". Of course with such a success, there are those who will be critical. My hope is that they too would open this book and try to understand what it really has to say.

I agree with oleander8....you can't reach these people. Their minds are absolutely closed to anything else. They remind me of the stories of madrassas (sp?) in Muslim countries - schools where it SOUNDS like they teach only the Koran. No math, physics, chemistry, geography, history etc. Just religion. Then it is easy to paint other religions as the enemy. They are not EDUCATED, they are just sleepers waiting to be prodded into activity by people quoting from a "holy" book. Oops. I just described the religious right.

If we live as if there is a God, and there isn't one, we will still live a good life.

But if we live as if there is no God, and there IS one, we will be in heap big trouble!

People who believe in the bible do not comprehend that not everyone does. They think these people are just misguided. When they quote the bible as indisputable fact - I can feel my eyes glaze over because they are unreachable.

Buy three Bibles, proclaim you're 'born again' status, and you're qualified to be a neocon US President. Glory be!

Purchase a Bible, and you too can become an instant expert on morality. Buy two Bibles and you're qualified to be an evangelist. It couldn't be any easier than that.

Why bother reading a so called "holy book"
that offers
no scientific explanation of our existence,
no scientific expalanation of the universe,
no clear moral code
..etc
The bible is a work of BAD BORING fiction
