This story was irresponsible. It is in another example of "balanced" reporting that equates science with junk science. I am sorry that the Tremblays's child is autistic, but it was NOT caused by the MMR vaccine. There is no reputable scientist that believes this connection. In fact, most of the authors of the original study suggesting the link retracted it. If you were doing a story on the earth, would you include someone who believes it is flat for "balance"?

Mutkus determined that thimerosal caused significant and selective changes in both glutamate transporter mRNA and protein expression in the CHO-K1 cell line. This study suggests that thimerosal accumulation in the central nervous system might contribute to dysregulation of glutamate homeostasis. Glutamate is a neurotransmitter and is necessary for proper brain functioning. Note: Yip (2007) documented decreased levels of glutamate in autistic cerebral brain tissue and Hornig ( 2004) noted altered glutamate receptors in thimerosal exposed mice.

Herdman notes that cJun N-terminase kinase (JNK)-signaling pathway activation has been implicated in neuronal apoptosis. Herdman investigated the role that the JNK pathway plays in neurotoxicity caused by thimerosal. SK-N-SH cells treated with thimerosal (0-10 microM) showed an increase in the phosphorylated (active) form of JNK and cJun with 5 and 10 microM thimerosal treatment at 2 and 4 h.. To assess which components are essential to apoptosis, cells were treated with a cell-permeable JNK inhibitor and the downstream effectors of apoptosis were analyzed. Results indicate that thimerosal-induced neurotoxicity occurs through the JNK-signaling pathway, independent of cJun activation, leading to apoptotic cell death.

NOTE: 1 microM thimerosal is equal to 200 ppb concentration - preservative level flu vaccine is 50,000 ppb and trace level Hep B given first day of life is 600 ppb concentration mercury.

I think more people need to read up on how vaccines work in the body and how disruptive to the central nervous system they actually are especially when discussing Autism in general. The toxins stay in the body that cannot expell them and thus we have more toxic buildup in the various cells of the body along with an overactive TH2 makup instead of enforcing the TH1 thus causing imbalences and resulting in unfavorable reactions and cancers, diabetes, etc.. They are made in the name of science yet used as experiments on each and every one of our children or ourselves receiving them, yet each and every body accepts or regects them differently and this is where the problems exist. They say too much mercury from fish is dangerous, well what about the buildup we have from vaccines, in the bloodstream to the brain, is this not common sense that sooner or later a reaction will occur. The accumulation of toxins as well as accumulation of viruses from the very vacines in the body has got to make the human body unimmaginable compromised in health. No wonder we are such an unhealthy species.

Agrawal documented that thimerosal exercised TH2-promoting effects through modulation of functions of human dendritic cells (DC) by inhibition of LPS induced proinflammatory cytokines TNF-alpha, IL-6, and IL-12p70 resulting in an increase TH2 (IL-5, IL-13 and decreased TH1 (IFN-gamma). Thimerosal exposure of DC led to depletion of intracellular glutathione (GSH) and the addition of exogenous GSH to DC abolished the TH2 promoting effect of thimerosal. (Note James has documented that children with autism have low levels of plasma glutathione)

For those not aware- Thimersol as mentioned in items Posted by TimKasemodel is a preservative in vaccines. In other words these vaccines do cause chemical poisoning from mercury.

Comparison of blood and brain mercury levels in infant monkeys exposed to methylmercury or vaccines containing thimerosal.

Burbacher compared brain mercury levels in infant Macaca fascicularis primates exposed to injected ethylmercury (thimerosal) and equal amounts of ingested methylmercury. The ethylmercury more rapidly converted to inorganic mercury in the brains of the primates which resulted in increasing levels of inorganic mercury and the primates exposed to ethylmercury retained at least twice as much inorganic mercury in their brains compared to the primates exposed to methylmercury. The relative concentrations in monkeys with detectable levels of inorganic mercury were 16 ng/g in thimerosal-treated monkeys and 7 ng/g in the methylmercury-treated monkeys in which inorganic mercury levels were detectable. Inorganic mercury was below detectable levels in 8 out of 17 of the methylmercury-treated monkeys. Exposures to mercury during these critical periods of development disrupt the growth and migration of neurons, with the potential to cause irreversible damage to the central nervous system. Prior primate studies found inorganic mercury in the brain was associated with microgliosis and neuroinflammation, recent finding also documented in autistic brain

Well, I was lucky enough to be informed about the risks before my daughter was born. I chose not to vaccinate, no drugs during the birth and no drugs. She is now 13 and still drug-free, pushed or prescribed. To all that read this post research it for yourself, look at the risks of putting poison into an infants blood stream. Stajich measured blood mercury levels in low birth weight and term newborns administered the Hepatitis B vaccine containing 12.5 %uF06Dg ethyl mercury. The investigation documented elevated post-immunization concentrations relative to pre-immunization levels in all neonates studied. Levels of blood mercury after exposure in low birth weight infants were 7.36 (1 4.99) %uF06Dg/L. Note: One infant was found to have developed a mercury level of 23.6 %uF06Dg/L, thus meeting the CDC criteria as a case of chemical poisoning from mercury defined as a blood level of 10%uF06Dg/L or greater.

Like so many other parents I never questioned the safety of vaccines and literally vaccinated the heck out of my first two children. I never read the colorful little vaccine info. pages given by my pediatrician only shoving them into my diaper bag putting all of my trust into my friendly pediatrician. When I finally grew a brain with my third child and decided to research all about vaccines I was horrified. More and more vaccines were coming down the pike and children were sicker and sicker than at any prior generation. Diabetes, juvenile arthritis, asthma, autism, this is not coincindence. We seem to live in a generation that believes we should never get sick. Vaccines like hepatitis B of which children were very unlikely to ever contract were being injected into day old infants. Diseases like chicken pox which for the vast majority is completely recoverable were now being vaccinated for, and chicken pox is 20X more deadly in an adult than a child so why are we messing with this?

The truth is the vaccine industry is "a big business". Follow the money and the real story will unfold. Getting the government to "mandate" vaccines and getting the populace to "conform" due to the fact that their children's education was being held hostage for a experimental medical procedure is the gateway to billions for the drug industry. I encourage all parents to take this issue very seriously and to put a lot of time and effort into any vaccines they should choose for their children.

I think it is important that reactions to vaccinations are documented by parents and seen as a warning for future injections. My grandaughter became very ill after her first dtap shot and then after the second one had to be hospitalized. The doctor said the reactions were a coincidence but it was clear to me that was not true. There are obviously children that are more sensitive to the vaccinations and these reactions are warnings that it is likely to get worse. Doctors are so defensive about the slightest question about vaccinations and are often offended by the parents who want to know more. The medical profession needs to see children as individuals and not only address what they consider to be "the greater good." The Hepatitis B shot mostly given at birth is an insult to the intelligence of all new parents. I have found out that if the mother does not have Hepatitis B then the newborn does not need to receive the shot at such a young age when they are so vulnerable.

A person does not need the pseudo science opinion about deadly chemicals being benificial or safe for a human life to exist. Data is skewed and flawed.

I am 55 years old and I can tell you I knew no one that had even an ear infection, no one that had asthma even though all our parents smoked none filter cigarettes, no one that died from measles, or chickenpox. Chickenpox thats a good one. They start vacinating for it, and they are seeing cases of shingles in children. They are also seeing more and more cases of chickenpox in the vaccinated. Do they figure maybe we should stop vaccinating? No! They decide they need another shot to prevent chickenpox because the first ones not working. Low and behold they are working on a shingles vaccine and you can bet your butt they will mandate it. This is how they create disease, and profit from it. WAKE UP AMERICA! They are fear mongers, and liars all for the sake of the mighty dollar. Someone on this blog made a statement about natural selection, Your an idiot! This is not natural selection. You do not weaken the strong to protect the weak. Natural selection is what we had before we started Mass Vaccinations. The strong and healthy would contract the desease, recover and provide true herd immunity. My son recovered from autistic symptoms through the DAN protocol. He still has a bowel disease associated with the MMR shot wherein the measles component of the vaccine is living in his gut. By treating the gut disease one removes the autistic symptoms.

Calling autism genetic is like saying lung cancer from smoking is genetic. Lot's of people didn't get cancer from smoking. You need the genetic vulnerability AND the environmental trigger.

BTW, thimersol is mutagenic. One study compared parents' genes to their autistic children, and the children had genetic damage which the parents didn't. Blaming it on the genes is a red herring used to excape culpability.

Right now, aluminum is replacing mercury in vaccines and it is also a neurotoxin. Recovery is possible and is being done through the DAN protocol and that would not be possible if it were simply genetic.

If Autism is a genetic defect passed on to children where are all the 40+ year old Autistic people. 1 in 150 adults with Autism would be hard to miss. If you know 2 or 3 families with Autistic children do you know the same number of families with adult autistic members or adults with other serious learning problems? I don't know any families that have adults with Autism but I now know many families affected by Autism and the kids are mostly young, 3 to 9 years. In the past 3 years I have met many parents with children with serious speech problems, ADD, ADHD and other learning dissabilties. When I was in grammer school in the 70's we didn't have this, there were not this many children with learning problems -- am I wrong?

It is apparent that our healthcare systems is truly a sick care system. Big pharma, big agra, etc. have one thing on their mind and it is not health...money. It will eventually come down to the survival of the fittest because our healthcare system is bankrupting us. Look at the amish communities and seventh day adventists. I also have a friend who's child was normal until the MMR vaccine, and after, was never the same again. For those of you in support of vaccination, I pray that you do not witness this first hand, because all of those mothers know, without a doubt, that the vaccine caused the change in their child. They were absolutely fine developmentally until that moment. So, do your research. Really look at the CDC documentation and analyze it critically.
