I agree with most of the posts here. It is up to you, the parents, to educate yourselves and ask questions. If you're going to vaccinate your children, fine - that's your choice - but supplement them nutritionally ahead of time, space out the vaccinations so they are not getting multiple doses, and make sure you do not give them any containing Thimerosal - the deadly preservative that is the catalyst for the majority of neurodevelopmental conditions we are seeing in today's autism epidemic. Be forewarned - flu shots STILL contain Thimerosal - which is 50% mercury - one of the deadliest neurotoxins around.

It is so nice to see that these networks are beginning to shed light on both sides of the story. I consider myself to be intelligent but knew nothing about the the concerns and the challenges I faced getting my son out of the doctor's office, UNVACCINATED. I was pressured with a level of intensity that was beyond belief, and had I not done my homework and been armed with a list of 20 questions that I wanted answered FIRST, I would have buckled and continued vaccinating. I was even warned by a nurse with 30 years exp. and still didn't have all of the info. I needed when I first began my research. I did half the vaccinations for my son up to 4 months and quit after a horrible reaction. I was under the impression that I just had to be concerned about the mercury and that is the farthest thing from the truth. I cannot stress to anyone enough, DO YOUR HOMEWORK and do it throughly.. Spend the time, look at the science, read the case studies, look at the toxic effects of these chemicals, check the EPA standards, look at the SIDS connection, look at the corruption within the CDC and FDA. And lastly, Look at the stories and read the nightmares REAL parents have lived. WOW... this is really basic 8th grade cause and effect science that they are trying to keep from the public. I am so fortunate, that so far I haven't seen evidence that I damaged my son but my heart really hurts for the parents of these children. There really needs to be TRUE INFORMED CONSENT, and take the time to do it..

So angry gottagit...and so misinformed. There is no such thing as a 'genetic epidemic'. That's a medical impossibility - look it up. I have no idea why you would want to mislead people but even the most pro-vaccine medical folks have never alleged that this is a genetic defect. The autism rate of 20 years ago was between 1 in 10,000 to 1 in 15,000 children. Now it is about 1 in 166. That is an epidemic even by the government's own admission. Our genes did not mutate in 20 years to cause this. If 1 in 166 kids were kidnapped in this country we would nuke somebody. Well that's exactly what happens to the parents of an autistic child - their are taken away, often forever. The medical expense to warehouse full-blown autistics as adults after their parents die will be astronomical one day. Wouldn't it be the more sensible thing to spend money now to make sure we discover the cause & develop treatments to help these kids now rather than pay for long-term institutional care later? It's the moral thing to do but it also makes financial sense.

In my state the schools send out threatening letters stating that unless vaccinations are up to date your children will be unable to attend. Do you have any advice on how can a parent decline the vaccines yet still keep their children in the public school system?

It appears that there is only about a 10th of the problems reported to be because of the imminisations so a massive cover up is definetly there... My husband developed a malenoma on the site of where we got our tB scratches on the arm, it always stayed red and now a stage two and three malenoma came, and I asked the Dr if he was going to report this and he said no, so I asked the specialist if he was going to and he said that there was no evidence that people got cancers on their imminisation sites, so I said that if Drs dont report it then there will never be any evidence, now when looking on the net I see that there has been evidence...
Both my neighbours got Diabetes only a few months after the hep b imminisation.. hmmm ,, one person you could dissmiss but both husband and wife??? one is German and the other is Italian so different backgrounds...

Vaccine safety is a very serious issue that can not be ignored. Doctors and pharmaceutical companies don't want to admit that there could be a problem. I was recently told that the Amish people do not vaccinate their children and that there is no such thing as an Autistic Amish child. I plan on checking to see if this is really true. If it is, I would say that speaks volumes and settles the argument right there! Many people probably assume that of course these vaccines and drugs are safe or my doctor wouldn't prescribe them. That is not true. All one has to do is watch the tv and see all of the drug commercials, one right after the other. Many of these drugs list side effects that are worse than the original condition. Side effects that I have heard with my own ears are TB, Lymphoma or fatality. Do you realize that means that those things are "accepted" side effects? Well, in my book they are not acceptable. Why has the rate of Autistic children skyrocketed? Why do we have so many childhood diseases and so many learning disabilities? If all of these vaccines are supposed to keep our children healthy, I would say that it is not working. It is about time we really looked into finding out once and for all just how safe these vaccines are and what their side effects truly are.

I am very excited to see CBS actually cover this story. Too many times the mainstream media overlooks this important story. Medicine, especially vaccines will not get better if the public does not demand it. The media needs to remind people that there are risks with any kind of medicine and we the people need to educate ourselves and take action.
I know several people who have been harmed by vaccines. It is sad that they seem to not matter to the rest of the population who have benefited from vaccines.

It is inconceivable that any benefit outweighs the torture suffered by my wife from a reaction to a Hepatitis B vaccine. Nine years later she still suffers while doctors still talk about the very low risk of serious injury. It is real. It is crippling and it is time the medical community provided support to the victims. The CDC should be ashamed of their behavior toward vaccine victims.

It is very sad how it seems some people in the medical field are so greedy. They dont care about how many children and families lives they have destroyed. I know first hands about living with children with autism. I have two sons, and watching my older son struggle with self injurous behavior, crying, because he is so frustrated that he can't get the words out to communicate is devastating, they have other medical problems as well. In the 1990's Vaccines contained higher levels of mercury, and also many other toxic poisons like alluminum. Mercury causes widespread damages to the body. Just because some people children may not have been affected by mercury and other poisons does not mean that vaccine injuries are not true. Try living with a child with autism and watching them suffer from day to day and how so many parents have been stressed physical, emotional, and financially. It also can take a toll on your health. Just Thank God that your kids are healthy and don't take that for granted.

I said that 50 years ago that there were not many sick kids that we only had one child in our very large school who had asthma, is this what you are referring to... of course there have always been sick kids, measles, mumps etc, all the mild child hood diseases which are now counted as killer diseases, and strange how when immunisation is killing a few children that they are not counted as killer immunisation...then we of course over history have had different epidemics which have come and gone, like polio, and as I said it was on the decline when the immunisation came into existence.. whooping cough is also horrific...
