George Bush is a war criminal that is unmatched in American History. He and his friends have used the US Treasury as their personal checkbook, robbing taxpayers blind, for their personal enrichment with huge, tax breaks, no bid contracts, incredible "gifts" from Congress through corruption by Delay and others. He has lied, tortured, killed, kidnapped and spyed on Americans and others with impunity. He is personally responsible for the emasculation of America's former reputation for truth and justice around the world. Our friends around the world now fear this country more than many countries that have a much longer history of horrible acts. Bush is not responsible for creating a strong economy and real estate market. Rather, he inherited one from Clinton, which he promptly managed to totally f**k up with huge deficits, huge increases in the cost of living that have made good health care a luxury for the well to do and a complete slow down in the residential real estate market. He is NOT responsible for any lack of a terrorist attack. George Bush is the ONLY US president who has presided over a foreign terrorist attack on US soil that has resulted in the death of an Ameican. It is clear that such attack could occur only by extraordinary incompetence and deceit that Bush has exhibited in every major test of his administration, from 9/11 to Katrina to Iraq. He needs to be impeached and prosecuted, not revered. Only idiots fail to see these truths.

Ben, boy, reading this column was like watching you put trying to use a styptic pencil and a band aid on a huge gaping wound, then declare the patient cured.

Sweetie, there's just no way this man can be called good. I've studied it from every angle and it can't be done.

How do you explain away his total ignoring of the Katrina disaster? He is a failure domestically and abroad.

Well Mr. Ben Stein, you wanted public opinion, you got it. Most of the people who post here, do so from personal experiences in the real world, not from behind the *** of the republicking news medias. Mr. Stein, check out the Carlyle Group and then come back and talk to the PEOPLE. We will accept your apology. Joan Jett says it best in her song, Fake Friends. The Bush administration LIED to the American people about a war based ONLY on lies!!!! If this is the kind of representation YOU want endorsing you as an entertainer, it was nice knowing you, hope you can sleep at night.

Have you ever heard such a crock of sh** ?

this flap over Ben Stein reminds me of the time Couric introduced the father from Columbine as if his viewpoint would be "repugnant", and it seemed since the CBS news people were such holy saints they would condescend to allowing him to speak. later TONS of people were on the comments to say they agreed with the FATHER!

"will the cat be hung by an all dog jury?" it is good mr. Ben Stein speaks up for the cat. the cat is in charge of keeping the rodents at bay and some reporters are like little yapping dogs that broadcast the cat's hunting position and mess up the deal then they have the gall to complain that the cat is not doing his job well enough.

Ben Stein flaps his fatuous tongue declita again to give his Bushie-Babie another gooey lick. He rises higher and higher up the scale of receiving the Doctor Joey Goebbels Medal-of-the-Loose-and-Lying-Jaw award. The American people voted against this Republican trash. They did not create a "Coup" as Herrmeister Steinie contends. His Bushie Babie did commit a coup against the American people, our Constitution, and our democracy when the Evil Republican Wing of the Supreme Court under the aegis of a dope-befuddled Chief-Justice appointed him office holder. He was not elected in 2000. He was not elected in 2004; in Ohio in one electoral unit he got over 3000 votes in a district that only had a population of about 850.

Steinie just wants this hunk of rot to have power in office so he and his Israelite fascist fiends can occupy the Palestinian land under that government's lebensraum policy, one which they adopted from Adolf, and not have to answer for killing a people out of their rightful homes.

Steinie if killing people in Iraq, theirs and ours, is so important to you. Then take your cowardly little corrupt deassa out of the air you've raised before Bush and go to Iraq. You can change bedpans there for the wounded and dying and bleeding created by Bushie's LIE!

i wish the "media" would "take a poll",then it should be public knowledge which political affiliation every news worker has. So when Katie or Williams,or who ever, were reporting it would be displayed throughout the report, Dem or Rep. also media should not be allowed hide behind "independent".

What is the percentage of dems or reps in news?
that should be easy enough for "the pollsters" to
find out.if we are surprised at the reporter's affiliation than maybe they have been doing a good job that is objective. news viewers should be polled to see what party THEY think the reporter is from. If 80% of the viewers clock Katie as a dem for example, then it may be obvious that her reporting may not be objective etc.

Ben's greater trust of Bush over the media suggests that he rarely takes leave of his sandbox, especially if he believes that Bush's policies have in any way prevented an attack on our homeland. Our enemies don't want to go to the trouble to come here if they can humiliate us over there much more easily. Defending our shores is a waste of effort under the present circumstances.
I do appreciate Ben for having the courage along with myself and George Bush to make an idiot of themselves in public.

Sorry, Beeline. That was completely over my head. But then I've been up over 36 hours preparing for a big audit tomorrow, and by now a lot of things are getting by me.

I'd like to hang around tonight but I'm nearly wasted...

Media spin, as I call it , was one reason I left journalism.
Sensationalism of one event can lead to an editorial twist that evokes anger, fear or resentment. Sometimes for good - Sometimes for bad.
I left my editorial position for one good reason. As George Carlin once stated in a routine, one of the fearful things one can do..."THINK!"

So country singer Merle Haggard "knows nothing of what's up in America right now." But elitist Ben does.. OK!
Then I'm sure Bush will be fondly regarded by history as the president who made the stock market climb and had no terrorist attacks for five years. Sure he will...
Clinton had the stock market climb and no terror attacks for eight years!
The real estate boom Benny refers to was started under Clinton- Bush has put an end to it with his trillion dollar war.
Cllnton also created many more jobs...
Is anyone in America still buying this republican kool aid?

God Bless our Troops
God forgive George Bush

Let%u2019s impeach the guy! By the way clemenhagen: please find a very tall building and take a leap %u2013 SOON!

Quit covering these animals in the Middle East and let them butcher themselves off camera. We have spent 50 years of time blood and money trying to civilize them to western standards and it does not work. Do they own your Job or what? Quit Covering them!

OK here is your chance, don%u2019t just set in front of your computer and complain spouting meaningless rants of sludge, do something about it! This is the contact address for your Senator! Here's a marketing opportunity for CBS. They could sell (to be made in China, of course) Ben Stein logo knee-pads and safety helmet sets to be worn during visits to the Oval Office, especially during those under-the-desk forays. OSHA will be glad to see the proper safety equipment in use to prevent excessive wear on the knees and to avoid blowback concussions. They've been tested and endorsed by Monica Lewinski!

I propose a new unit of measurement in the SI/metric system. It's the Stein; which by definition is the pressure (measured in kg/sq. meter) required to suck a regulation-size golf ball through a 100 meter length of garden hose.

I guess you could say that Stein really sucks!
