I really respect Ms Banks for attending school to expand her horizon in education, I am a minority Native American and also chose to attend school but without financial resources like Ms Banks. I graduated with a BS in Business Administration at the ripe age of 50. Life is all about getting out of it what you put into it because we limit ourselves so much. I respect all people who chose to better themselves especially later in life. Good luck and keep up the hard work!!!!!

Does it really matter that Tyra Banks is not enrolled into the regular MBA degree program? Hasn't she proven that she is an Harvard MBA by creating multiple successful businesses?

She does not have to go to school; however, she has my absolute respect for taking time to attend school and learning more about business.

So what is the measurement for having the "mental aptitude for Harvard?" Is it the ability to answer questions on an admission's test or is it proven business skill as measured by P/L, brand building, job creation, revolutionizing an industry? I am asking this question because I know a few Harvard grads who don't make the kind of money that Tyra makes nor do they create jobs for others. I would submit, as a proud state school graduate, that some of you need to get your nose out of the air.

On behalf of those of us who get undergraduate and graduate degrees, let me say that in the spirit of academic honesty, Ms. Banks should have made it very clear that this was not a standard course of study. Three weeks a year does not an education make. Perhaps her friends and associates would not have been as impressed that she was attending Harvard had they known the whole story.

I'm not an expert on how the selection process for the OPM Program works, but regardless I think this is a smart pairing. Great value comes out of having multiple industries, perspectives, and personalities represented in business school classes.

This article is misleading. Tyra is enrolled in the Owner/President Management Program (OPM) in the Business School's Executive Education Plan. It is not in any way comparable to the undergraduate or graduate school. Anyone who owns a business with a certain level of sales and the ability to pay the expensive program fee can attend. You don't even need a college degree.
Tyra is very successful and obviously smart but she is not a Harvard MBA student.

Just goes to show what money can buy. She certainly doesn't have the mental aptitude for Harvard.

I am a fellow student of Ms. Banks - and I speak for our entire class when I say she works hard, is very smart, and very low key at HBS. She is one the gang, and we adore her.
