I think all early voting, with the exception of mailed in absentee ballots, should stop. Too bad for the inconvenience of voters. Let's go back to the original plan and that was you vote in-person on the actual election day. This pandering to the masses needs to stop; it's gotten out of control and everyone wants to bend it more and more just to conform to themselves.

What....are you a clone or a clown? I think we should make Voting Day a National Holiday..there. Problem solved...or not? Would this be too "convenient"...might it favor true one person - one vote democracy, instead of the voter suppression, gerrymandering bull$$!t you 'Cons prefer????

Voters should be allowed to vote. The games need to stop. Florida voters should get rid of these clowns. There is no reason to close at 2:00pm.

Yes, Rick Scott, our not so esteemed Republican Governor who cut early voting by a week---so what if he extended the hours----There is no reason why anyone should have to wait in line for 6 to 8 hours to vote!

I still think it unbelievable that my State elected this man who plead the 5th ----I forget how many times and who's company had to pay the largest fine in US history, to date, for Medicare fraud---stealing hundreds of millions from the government----he's now our Governor, was a tea-party supported candidate and is now very, very wealthy to boot!

I guess justice is as low on the totem as integrity these days!

"The KKK practiced the same sort of hateful, racial bigotry and dishonesty with the vote in the past like the Tea Party and the Republicans are today but, they want you to TRUST them to make decisions for this country. Every American should be able to vote, not only for what's best consensus of betterment for our country but, for the equality and freedom of ALL of it's diverse demographics of American people. We have to fight in WAR together (except for guys like Romney that cowardly punked out during Vietnam) so we should be able to share the same right to VOTE together. The RIGHT WING denies this. Americans have come too far in this country too long to have to hire Attorneys to fight in courts for the rights of Americans to vote. Blocking, disenfranchising a certain demographic of people or, suppressing the American VOTE should be considered as an act of TREASON in this country and should not be tolerated under any circumstances."

Uhh, lots of silverspoon kids on both sides 'punked out' and either "studied" or flew jets and did coke. Most of 'em become lawyers, just in case.
But I agree, this latest round of un-American behavior is really the lowest. Hypocrites. Wish it was required to vote like the Aussies. By that standard we would've never had to deal with trickle down and all sorts of nonsense. it would be a very different game. All the hate and lies from Fox, et al is turning America into a very sad country.

Agree 100% Swift. I also like the Australia idea however, to many people already form and vote while uninformed/ill informed which is part of why we are in this mess. I would almost defer to a coin toss. AS it is I see voting getting more and more restrictive given what the GOP has done and what the Tea Party is on record for wanting to do. People are either dead or stupid as I can see no other reason why this election is as close as it seems to be.

Republicans are not in office to serve and benefit ordinary Americans. They have shown time after time their disdain for struggling Americans by blocking and stopping any legislation from President Obama and Democrats to revive the economy and help struggling Americans.

This is why struggling Americans cannot reward them with our votes for standing with ccorporations, big oil, big pharma, the super rich and against struggling Americans. Republicans must be defeated for our great nation to progress.

Moreover, no republican supporter can cite any republican policy, stance, bill/legislation that favors struggling Americans over corporations, big oil, big pharma or the super rich.

Yea, I hate to chime in w/anyone supporting the GOP but honestly, both sides have some good ideas/stances and both have some really stupid ones. The parties are the problem because of being beholden to constituencies/special interests.
If we could change how money influences elections, for the better instead of how it's going, we'd get politicians who could DO more good. Perfect example - Dodd from Conn. Finally after decades of supporting business such as big insurance, when he finally is bowing out, only then does he write bill that really gives a fair deal. They're all under someones' thumb unless they get enough seniority to push back. Which is rare.

1000 times better Obama than Bush Reborn.

VOTE FOR OBAMA. Nation's healing. Romney's a disaster, Bush reborn. We're bankrupt and he'll hike Defense ($2-Trill) to war level and lower the Rich Tax ($500-Bill/yr) to Bush level. A sure job and factory outsourcer as per his hidden tax reports & offshore accounts.

LIE, Romney's not serious about reducing the Debt or Deficits; he signed the Tea Tax Pledge: NEVER raise the Rich Tax. Gallup poll: Reagan and Clinton voted best presidents last decades. Nixon and Bush, worst. Romney to imitate the best? Hell no, to ape Bush hiking Defense to war levels and cutting the Rich Tax to Bush levels. Recipe for Disaster. BUSH REBORN

Unfortunately you're largely correct in that we don't know what Mittens would do. He's slippery. The party would push him around like a toy. I think anyone in the office does some good but I can't imagine this character, with his off shore accounts, etc. etc. etc. understanding the common working man. What stinks is that our choices largely boil down to TWO. I'm a Nadar man but have to vote dem - all dem - this election because there's just too many wack jobs in the GOP. Like Ryan would be on bat for eight years from now? About as unbelievable as 'I can see Russia from my house.' The far right continues to warp the GOP.

It's easier to vote in storm damaged NJ, NY, RI, Conn, then it is to vote in Florida. Why is it that in every stinking election we have to deal with Florida? Because of the Republican doing anything and everything to suppress the vote. It is time to put an end to this nonsense and have a nation wide reform of voting and voter laws.

Sorry Vape, you can't fix Flor-e-da. The statehouse in Tallahassee is chock full of lunatic right wing idealogues, crooked as hell and we can't get rid of 'em. All sorts of shenanigans to suppress democratic voters. Scandals. And they preach freedom, the flag, and voting as a patriotic duty. What a crock of .....The GOP on any level is a bunch of crooks. Similar voting subterfuge going on nationwide is overwhelmingly by GOP operatives or their supporters.
It's insidious, and along with what's happening due to Citizens United we are losing the very ability to get fair representation.
Citizens have to find some way to overturn Citizens United. Just think what would be in store if Mittens appointed two more justices. This situation is unbelievable.
I'm afraid we'll need a real, true revolution of some sort soon the way things are going. After dems win the WH and senate the GOP will continue to play their game and point fingers but both parties hamstring candidates.
Anyway, you're right but nothing will change as far as voting goes. Still, after this election the demographics are going to start severely hobbling the tea party and right wing anyway, but that presents it's own issues.
