Kill the Character off not once but a few times.. off a cliff.. then it was a dream.. then again : ) The guy lives a polygomist lifestyle and mocks American's who work hard and try to teach their kids decency. He believes star status is a right to indecent living.. People have daughters they don't want watching that situation he shows openly on TV - living with two young girls old enough to be his daughters.. he is arrogant and apparently has a great sense of humor.. so make it good!!
If Chuck Lorre is really in charge; why is he worried if Charlie can come back - supposedly he has that call. Sounds like Sheen was right when he said CL was a tool. Killing a character is bad for a show - I stopped watching MASH when they killed Henry. Have Charlie marrie Rose; move away (London?) and give Alan, Ashton and Jake the house. Ashton could have been Rose's weird brother we never heard about.
You missed some good MASH shows, then. Harry Morgan was great.
The reason someone would kill off a character who will never return is continuity. You have to explain why someone isn't there anymore. Any other scenario would leave the door open to the possibility that he'd be back - an option they clearly don't want to have.
As for the show itself, whether with or without Sheen, I never watched it and never plan to, so it's all relative.
fatesrider: if you never watched the show; why do you have an opinion on what to do with Charlie's character? Continuity is how I laid it out; towards the end of last season, Charlie was crazy for Rose and would have done anything to be with her. Now he marries her and leaves the Calif. life and possessions he craved; car, house, etc.
As for Harry Morgan; he was better on MASH when he played a crazy General in an earlier episode.
You DID miss some great MASH. I KNEW McLean Stevenson and he was an amazing actor, but darn it, Harry Morgan was a wonderful actor and cast player. And you never got to experience the gorgeous and funny Mike Ferrell, either! For shame!
I agree with this. Who is to say sometime down the road Charlie gets his life back in order and they want him back. Marrying him off with Rose would be the perfect solution. I will probably still watch the show although it will never be the same without Charlie Sheen. Don't you just hate it when u get into a sitcom you really like and it goes to pot.
