I was at a happy hour last Friday, and this subject came up. Everybody was jaw-jacking about how President Obama wasn't born in America (not asking or wondering if it's true but somehow just knowing), how he was born in Kenya, how he maybe didn't have the education he claims to have, and other bull ... stuff. I began to have a major wake-up call. These people all began to look very stupid to me. So, I set out to support my conclusion by asking a few simple questions:

I asked one person, "So, after he's been President for 3 years, what would you do if you found that he was in fact not born in the U.S.? The reply was, "Impeach him. Get him and Biden outta there!" (So this person would revamp the entire process and kick out the Vice President for no reason that relates to the proposed impeachment of our president! Interesting.) I asked who that person would suggest replace Mr. Obama. The reply was, "I don't know & somebody born here." (What an idiot!) I informed this person that I thought the next in line would be the Speaker of the House. I asked if this would be acceptable. This person did not know who that was!

There was more nonsense being flailed about until I couldn't take it anymore. I expressed the following sentiments prior to leaving, which may be helpful here to some, not all of you:

1) We all have one vote and one vote only. That is the extent of our individual "power" in a presidential election. We make a choice, and we cast our vote. Once the votes are tallied, the person with the most Electoral College votes wins and takes office. So then, what is the point of all the discussion and emotion over that which we have no further power to effect? (I got no answer, but I could see dust and cobwebs coming off their thought processes)

2) I asked, "Don't we have more pressing problems in this country like the economy, jobs, gas prices, health care, that need to be the focus and not birth certificates and other trivial stuff?" I didn't hear an answer that made sense and instead heard more about President Obama personally. That led me to #3 below.

3) Without race, religion, or anything otherwise, this country elected as leader of this country and the free world, not once but twice, an idiot. A joke to other world leaders who had major infractions well beyond a birth certificate (i.e. his military record and education). A person backed by a group who basically stole the 2000 election. (Great lesson for our children: can't win legally? Then steal what you want!) A buffoon who could not speak well, who lead us into a war we had absolutely no business entering that cost the lives of too many young people simply lead astray, and who had a hand in this country being in the economic pit that we're in. That would be George W. Bush. And I never heard any of you say anything negative about him. Why is that? (Of course, I got no answer.)

I hung around for a bit, and then I had to get outta there before stupidity jumped on me! But is Whoopi right? Is it because the man is black and some people still can't get over it? I wonder because I happened to be the only black person there at the time.

As for Donald Trump, he is a media *****. Just because we presume he is good at making money, that would not make him a good president! (I say presume because with all his proclaimed wealth, he went bankrupt or close to it some years back. And hold off before he is given kudos for making it back until we know HOW he made it back! Who bailed him out?!) I find it far more revealing that a person WITH money found a way to bankrupt himself. That to me brings into question his money management skills. But beyond that, a president needs many other skills than making money. And yelling, "You're Fired!" isn't one of them! Not only does he lack "world leader" skills, he has no diplomacy, no compassion, and no respect for anyone, because he's "The Donald", which is synonymous with The Arrogant Ass! Leaders of other countries called George W. Bush "Bozo", and they didn't really take him seriously. But "The Donald" will **** somebody off, they will want to make him pay, and that means WE will pay.

Finally, I have read people attacking each other on this site. I have not attacked anyone and will not. And I won't be on here a lot, so to those who do not like what I had to say and want to attack me personally, I say this: Get a life, have a coke and a smile, and shut the **** up!!

what about newborn baby pictures? Or immunization records? I have a hard time believing that there are no pictures of a first-born child. I've seen the studio one of him at about 4-6 mos. but nothing that shows were he was or with. Even footprints are standard. And then there's the nagging fact that no one signed the "record of live birth". There's more holes in his background story than all the holes in swiss cheese.

There are some facts that are disturbing about this issue. The money that Obama continues to spend to prevent his public records from being accessed. His response to court orders requiring his records shown to the courts by sealing his elementary school records, middle grades, high school, all university records, transcripts, medical history, etc.. McCain had to present all is records including 50+ pgs in medical records and proof of birth because democratic party said not eligible to be pres because born on Navy ship in Panama. Obama ordered to do the same this but refused despite court orders. I don't know if valid or not as an argument but it does appear that Obama refuses to obey the laws of the land that we all have to comply and he has spent alot of money and gone to alot of trouble to prevent the release of even his kindergarten records or college transcripts which usually candidates are proud. His refusal to be "transparent" for such a long period of time and ongoing currently, has to make people ask "why?" will he not comply with court orders and why seal all of his "public" records that you and I cannot seal because they are "public." What is on those records that would be worth 1 million+ to seal? Obama promised transparency and he should comply with our court requests as all of us have to do and there must be some reason why he refuses and hides his records. People who "hide" always have something to "hide." I think for the most important and powerful job in our land and because he is working for us, that he should be the best example of obeying our laws and constitution since his whole job is to uphold them and our constitution. The court ordered him in many of the cases pending to produce his records and even sent court orders to secure them as it would do for any of us. Obama refuses to comply with those courts and instead prevented them from accessing these "public records." Why? If there is nothing to hide, why is he so obvioulsy hiding? If it is not his birth place, what else could it be that would be on his elementary school records, medical records and into his college transcripts? Why would he spend 1 million dollars+ which is still ongoing, to hide these records which all of us have to produce to even get a driver's license or get our children to play on a sports team or change schools? Not to mention that our courts demanded that they be produced which compelled him to seal all of his records. McCain had to produce his while running against Obama which is why we knew that he had serious health issues, but Obama would not produce his when he was requested during his campaign. I don't believe in conspiracies but I do believe in the truth and I know that you cannot just listen to what a person says and usually you need to pay more attention to what a person does than what his words convey to really know his character and true nature. It doesn't make sense to pay so much money and spend so much time and seal all public records, if there wasn't anything on them to conceal? If Obama truley believes in a transparent government, he should start by producing his records. If Obama believes in our gonvernment that he is paid to uphold and defend, he should obey the court when his records were demanded. He needs to do more than just "talk" about good government, he needs to be the example of good government and he needs to be above the law and appearance of controversy. It doesn't do Obama any good to keep this hanging over his head and he should want to rid himself of any of these conspiracies and in so doing, he would make all the opposition look foolish and discredible which would advance his cause. By him not doing so, makes him look guilty.

"The assertion that President Obama was born outside the US IS racist. Period. .."
Wrong
The assertion that anyone having anything against Mr. Obama is racist is, in fact, racist. THAT is a fact. Just because people (including the courts) want to see what the Constitution requires does not make them a racist. Just because someone disagrees with Mr. Hopey Changey does not make them a racist, it makes them an INDEPENDENT THINKING INDIVIDUAL!

The definition of a racist:
"a person with a prejudiced belief that one race is superior to others"
While I agree that SOME of the !Obama camps might be racist (some), NOT all of them are, and CERTAINLY not those making legal claims of "we want to see your birth certificate".

By holding this back (and yes, he has held it back), he is proving that he has something to hide. The question is WHAT.

The main-stream press has always called the people who have believed that there is a problem involving this investigation as radicals and has named them "birthers and conspiracy theorists." No answers have been provided to this question that many are now asking? Why would a natural born US Citizen spend over One Million Dollars to avoid proving they are a natural born US Citizen? If he is a citizen, why not just show the $15.00 dollar long form? In other words, Why has Barry Soetoro, (Barack Obama's real name), hired numerous law firms and spent upwards of a million dollars trying to keep an official, ANY official, from seeing a $15 birth certificate, his passport records and his college transcripts? Forget the birth certificate for a second, why are his lawyers also hiding his passport records and his college transcrips? Something is wrong.

For the same reason McCain Spent 1.4 million. Running for President incurs Legal costs. The Money you cite was spent for a wide variety of purposes, But for you it's easier to believe the conspiracy theory citing the expenses Obama has incurred hide something......The only thin hiding in this debate is Birther's Intellects

I know this might be too hard for your little brain, but there is a difference between a LONG Form birth certificate, and a SHORT Form birth certificate. Trump is asking for the Long Form Birth Certificate that has all the signatures originating from the time he was born (very difficult to fabricate). The Short Form Birth Certificate is what Obama has shown (which you tried to perpetrate as the one Trump is asking for) and any government official can create that document.

Furthermore, Bush and McCain were both asked to show their college transcripts, something Obama has refused to do. *cough, foreign student* To further complicate matters, Obama left on a trip to Africa while in college, yet won't show his old passport so we can see if he left as a US citizen. Was he enrolled as a foreign student? Show the transcripts...and what was his grades if he is so smart? And why is it that not one student or professor even remembers Obama at Colombia University?
IF the certificate was already available on the web, the ladies at The View would have just said just that in response to Trump's allegations. But they knew his response would be 'show the LONG FORM Birth Certificate' and they didn't want to look as foolish as the person writing this article. If that certificate was enough why did the recently elected Governor of Hawaii say during his election that he would produce the certificate when he got to office, only to say it was 'lost'? Why did two hospitals both claim he was born there? Why is the US Supreme Court announce they are going to examine the issue of Obama's birth certificate? Are you living under a rock David Riedel?

Well AngelWest2, I'm sorry, but I don't want the president wasting time on this. We have bigger problems.

The assertion that President Obama was born outside the US IS racist. Period. ... And it is as loony as the theory that the government committed the crimes of 9/11/01.

By the way, Mr. Obama's missing (old) passport is evidence of nothing. I went to France 30 years ago. Since then I've moved several times. I have no idea where that passport is. Is that proof that I wasn't born here or that I renounced my citizenship?

I think birthers like you need to find something more meaningful to do.

djr83,

I'm sorry, but I WANT the president wasting time on this. There is no greater urgency in the U.S.A. than the defending of the US Constitution. People have given their lives defending that sacred document, not to be usurped by an impostor with less-than-American best interest at heart.

The assertion that President Obama was born outside the US is a Constitutional question about a guy who is supposed to be a Constitutional scholar (but won't show his college transcripts). The fact that he has decidedly defied the Constitution, as well as federal judges for that matter, on there different occasions (Obamacare, Offshore Drilling, war with Libya without congressional approval) creates fair non-racist questions about whether Obama would run for president without being a citizen.

Its just like a liberal to call names, and I will respond by calling you an 'Anti-Constitutionalist', and in my book is treason. P.S. Only uneducated people who are incapable of defending their position go straight for the R-word without evidence.

Trump just proved that he has very little to offer America as a President. This would have been a great opportunity for him to let people know what he is all about. Instead, he pulls a Palin, Bachmann and other Republican leaders who has nothing to offer Americans but think that they can cloud the issues facing this country by attacking Obamas' birth. Trump is a billionaire. If he thought that Obama was born some place other than America, why doesn't he spend the $100.00 and purchase Obama's birth certificate from the state of Hawaii? He has to know that Hawaii has put Obama's birth certificate up for sale to anyone at that price. What a fregging low life with nothing to offer he's turning out to be. He's pretty ignorant if he think that by bringing up that same old Tea Party retreat bull crap, it is going to help him get elected.
