- coucou,
Eric Holder and other officials were aware, it is clear, this trafficking in arms could not continue without an approval.

- The fact that Mr. Issa stated publicly all he wanted was "any document" pertaining to fast and furious and the Coverup of it it ample proof there is no investigation here it is a witch hunt to determine who to crucify for his preconceived crime. This is nothing if not pathetic.

- The GOP put car thief and arsonist Darrell Issa in charge of this because all of their crack dealers and pedophiles were busy.

- The republican party is a shell of what they used to be. The wheels will be falling off the cart real soon. The NRA is an absurd and crazy organization that aligns itself with the republicans. Enough said.

- In 1978 Congress created the US Office of the Independent Counsel whose task was to investigate any wrongdoing in the executive and legislative branch outside the reach of the DOJ & AG. The act creating the office was reauthorized every five years until 1999, when Reno was cited by the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform for contempt for not turning over documents related to Clinton's impeachment. The independent counsel was then assigned to the Attorney General's Office to investigate Congress and the executive branch members. In other words Holder doesn't have to assign an investigator to look into this matter. If anyone is expecting the full truth to come out about the past two administrations, especially Holder, forget it.
Issa is trying but his committee has no way to force the issue as to the ethics of this administration. At least Ashcroft had the stones to appoint Fitzgerald to investigate Cheney and Libby in the Valerie Plame affair. Holder, a neutered puppet, has no such inclination to get to the truth, which shows the ethics of this administration. - Reply to this comment
- I know everyone will disagree with this assertions, but at the root of this whole fiasco is the war on drugs or should I say MARIJUANA. Just think would, there even be a criminal drugs cartel if it were not for prohibition. Today Cannabis is more socially accepted than alcohol, while Prohibition addicts feeding from the prohibition cash trough will continue with these lame brain ideas of Fast and Furious. Has any one ever asked why has there never been and open national town hall meeting with a transparent discussion on the true facts of marijuana or is it the shameful ignorance of our Drug Czar or DEA head.

- Doesn't any Republicans read entire documents? Doesn't this fool of a reporter read entire documents?
the simple facts are the ATF knew that suspects were buying weapons and taking them over the border. The ATF agents were told that this was legal, which it apparently is in AZ.
Convicted felon Issa is a liar too. - Reply to this comment
- You know, watching the inept Republicans in Congress routinely waste everybody's time with meaningless witch hunts really makes one appreciate Democrats. Too bad the Democratic Congress in 2008 didn't hold Dick Cheney, Condoleeza Rice or George Bush Jr. in contempt, as they appeared to have deserved. Democrats, in the interest of national security and American unity, put the failed Republican administration behind us & moved on.
F&F is an insignificant, failed mission, occasionally to be expected in efforts against drugs & terrorism. Making secret planning & execution documents public- even just to Congressmen- is a serious security risk, as the nutty Congressman from California, Mr. Issa knows. Knock off the foolishness. - Reply to this comment
- Where is the outrage from the left and the ACLU about wiretaps?? Oh wait, it's not Bush doing it now so it's ok.

- Fine but Issa will not allow anything that implicates Republicans in any way to come before his committee on F&F. Holder has also said that release of the documents Issa wants can endanger the lives of agents still in the field. Does any sane person actually believe that once these documents are released that the contents will not be leaked to the press?
