- The problem I have with this article is not that their was proper interpretation of the story itself. The article itself presents the story of this child's troubles without any context. The court ruling was linked at the end as though that was enough to present the government's case, but a presentation of the court document should have been present in the article itself. I stand by my statement that this was a terrible piece of journalism.

- I am now presenting proof the CDC Dir. sold her office and her integrity.
The CDC Dir. was asked to answer to the allegations of the NIEHS panels findings, She answered "CDC concurs" but she the Dir. did not stop there,she shocked the Congressional committee and the Autism world with this statement}
"but if you do give us more time we will do good quality studies"
Parents remember that statement, when you hear from ABC 14 large population based studies continue to show no link. She the Dir.basically admitted the studies done so far by the CDC were of poor quality.
Parents, this is the last statement ever from the Dir. of the CDC on
the science that the CDC had and has on the Vaccines and Autism Connection before she was asked for her resignation from the incoming President Obama. She the Dir. one week after her cool off period of one year was offered a position paying millions from Merck. Needless to say she took it. Parents the CDC director had maintained for the six yr's she was in office that the large population based environmental studies done in the VSD were of sound design very good quality and robust.
After she is caught and cornered like a rat, and has done the dirty
deeds for the Pharmaceutical Company's. She the Dir. admits that the
big population based studies that the IOM used to come to the conclusion there was no Vaccine / Autism causation were en effect useless. So I guess we are back to square one on the vaccine / Autism connection. No ! the head of the NIEHS panel had some words of her own,concerning the Autism vaccine link and the CDC. She said {
"that leaves the CDC with very little to say, that vaccines and Autism are connected in anyway".
Also parents remember the IOM in 2001, had made the ruling that the Vaccines / Autism link was biologically plausible. That was before the CDC had the IOM to commit intellectual suicide, by ordering the IOM to pay little attention to the already proven biological evidence link.
And to put all their confidence in their large population based VSD FRAUDULENT studies, and those done by a CDC hand picked Stein bagger definition type of Danish Financial Fraud. - Reply to this comment
- This email was obtained through the FOIA act it is a very short statement
that I will break down and present proof that the person that said this
was beginning to get worried by the evidence that was coming forth on
the biological possibility's of a vaccines(Thimerosal)causing Autism.

You see parents the biological evidence was pointing direct to the Thimerosal as the cause of Autism,in fact the IOM ruled on the Biological plausibility in 2001 and found it was biologically plausible that vaccines was causing Autism. In 2004 the CDC told the IOM to pay very little attention to Biological evidence, and put all their confidence in the large population studies in the new 2004 IOM evaluation of the CDC evidence. Later the house appropriations committee asked the NIH to look at the studies that the CDC has concerning the vaccines / Autism connection the NIH charged the NIEHS of the NIH to do the evaluation of the evidence. The head of the panel said all the large environmental population based studies done in the VSD were en effect useless, but as bad as they were they were an improvement over the other two. The Denmark studies. Later on, I will reveal shocking revelations on the Denmark studies. How the CDC had paid for a predetermined out come of the studies done in Denmark before the research even began.

remain in the vaccines"
That's bad considering they had many warnings of the Toxicity of Thimerosal and in 1982 the CDC had an interim plan to remove it.
Asleep at the switch NO! they weren't even in the same galaxy of
the switch.
Here are two of the most important warnings that were ignored,all because
of Arrogance and Greed done for the greater good.
Dr Engley 1948 AMA paid study {"we find Thimerosal toxic down to an unbelievable level down to one one millionth of a gram, and that is
about as toxic as you can get" he said.
His team tried again in 1982, with the 1948 warning that is two warnings
of extreme Toxicity from the blue ribbon panel that were ignored.
Just before the lead researcher Dr. Engley died he said this {"if they had listened and followed through on our "1982" report then all the vaccines would be freed from Thimerosal and they tell me all of this Autism would never have occurred". That should be ringing all over the halls of Congress. Considering 3.2 to 5 million for each child that was
effected by something they were warned about many times. It appears this Autism and and chronic diseases epidemic could have and should have been avoided.

- This article is disappointing. While Elias's story is shocking and sad, it is difficult to put it into a context outside of pure emotion. You do provide the VICP court document, but your average reader will have difficulty deciphering it. How difficult would it have been to have any pediatrician or neurologist read through it and explain what the ruling means and what parents should take away from it? Without such context, this article is pure sensationalism and bad journalism.

- Thank you so much Ms. Attkisson, for a breath of fresh air with a little bit of honest and objective reporting. Too bad the other news agencies are not willing to do that, and even CBS apparently will not promote it sufficiently.
There are many thousands of us autism parents, and many of us are very highly educated and technical. It's obvious that there is a major PR smear campaign going on against everyone who is interested in vaccine safety and discovering and publicizing all the relevant facts.
Autism is a very serious problem, and it's a raging epidemic. We don't know what's causing it. We do know none of the potential etiological factors have been shown to be primary causes, particularly not genetics. Almost none of the potential etiologic factors been ruled out, either, particularly not vaccines. That does not mean that vaccines cause autism, and it most certainly does not mean that they don't.
What we need is honest, open minded investigative research, and honest dissemination of the results.
What we are getting instead, particularly in the public media, is disingenuous and misleading propaganda by the crowd that pushes unconditional vaccines for everyone and a claim that they could not possibly be dangerous enough to merit any concern by parents.
There is a large body of factual information that contradicts this "vaccines uber alles" propaganda. Some of it is being blockaded as part of the effort to hide the dangers from the public. Making Dr. Wakefield into a pariah is simply a part of that effort, which is logical because he has done and continues to be involved in some excellent research that raises some very uncomfortable yet necessary questions. By shooting the questioner they hope the questioning will go away, but it won't.
At the very least, there should be some properly designed and properly executed research comparing vaccinated to unvaccinated subjects. Despite the numerous false claims in media articles and thousands of blog posts to the contrary, no such study has ever been done. One of the few studies that approached the topic, done by the CDC and which they attempted to hide as "secret", found a very strong relationship between thimerosal (mercury) in vaccines and autism. Then they hid the data so nobody outside of their control can re-examine the data. Re-examining is normally available for scientific research.
We need honest research and honest reporting on it, in order to ensure vaccine safety. If this is ever done, we might finally be able to improve public confidence in vaccines. In the mean time, the public sees more and more evidence of a cover-up. - Reply to this comment
- Thimerosal is a mutagenic,we know that because the manufacturer
states it on their Manufacturer Safety Data Sheet. And when you
state mutations as a reason for Autism, you have just found the
damage caused by the Thimerosal.
Also on the MSDS of Thimerosal it is accumulative in the body and it targets the organs of the body in particular the brain and the lining around the brain. What is something that is accumulative in the body
and targets the organs of the body in particular the brain and the lining around the brain. Doing in children's vaccines???? are they insane!
And why would we be wondering, what happened to the children's health
