By the way, ALL of you should rent or download - whichever you can afford - An Inconvenient Truth.

It's out on DVD now, and paints the situation as it really is.

Despite everything, I like Al Gore. Some people say that he is one dimensional and boring. This movie really brings him to light and shows what a smart and passionate fella he is.

Listen up!

The whole dang thing needs to change!

Generation X and Y are looking around at the planet that their parents gave them and are beginning to panic! This in turn trickles down to the politicos in charge, and they need to decide: keep doing things the way they have been done for 100 years already, or change the course of history and preserve the human species.

I know that sounds preachy, but it's the common truth to the environmental situation. Contrary to what industry and the Bush Administration will have you believe, there is zero ambiguity among "actual" scientists - i.e. scientists that make their work available for peer review by other scientists - that the world is going to Hades in a hand cart because of human activity and pollution.

If we want to keep going as a civilization in the current form, we have to stop greenhouse gasses NOW - not later. Almost every other industrialized nation on the planet has dramatically better emissions standards than our beloved United States.

Are we really too stupid or ineffectual to at least join China in emissions? Their cars emit only 65% of the pollutants ours do! Red China! Really! Look it up!

[quoting Mark Twain] "It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so."
