The republican PARTY ARE A BUNCH OF LIARS AND RACIST. A CIVIL WAR WAS AVERTED, BECAUSE OF THEIR LOSS.I DONOT SEE ANY CHANGE IN THEM IN THIS CENTURY. THEY ARE A DISGRACE TO THE HUMAN RACE.
Well i guess you might say that i wasn't exactly born just yesterday so i already knew those tremondous, extraordinary, gargantuan, stupendous, humongous, enormous, prodigious, and portentous e.g. words several decades before the pathetic and maloderous internet was even conceived.
Nothing will change until most of us recognize the enemy within. Giant corporations run America and we all run happily to their superstores to shop. They set it up so that could run the election through their corporate lobbyists, they made the election machine and own the media and military.
We need to wake up and shop local, organic, and small business
If John Huntsman had been nominated, he would have run a dull but intelligent campaign. He would have talked about real issues and real solutions and the Obama campaign would have been able to follow suit (instead of deflecting lies about how Romney saved the auto industry, etc.). And that would have been great. We are approaching "fiscal cliff" and it would have been good to have had a serious discussion about it. I won't miss the Bush tax cuts (even for the middle class), but sequestration is going to have some serious consequences for the economy and for the nation.
We need two honorable and responsible parties in this country, and right now we have only one, the Democratic Party. I do not refer to everyone who voted Republican, but the people who run the Republican party and set the tone have set a tone of hyperpartisanship and magical thinking that does a great disservice to this country. We need two legitimate parties so we can have a real debate about the issues of the day - not nonsense like birtherism and legitimate rape and five trillion dollar tax cuts that magically balance the budget.
"We need two honorable and responsible parties in this country..." Actually, we have at least four, two within each (ignoring, of course the parties that focus on prolonging the life of snowmen, those that want all toilet seats made of birch..you get the idea). Unusual for Republicans is the visibility of theirs, the TEA Party. But in keeping with the normal chaos of the Democrat Party, the extremists are less vocal, less well known than the nutballs on the Republican, but, just as nuts. The solution, the way to solving the 'gridlock'would require Boehner, who's just about pickled himself with his frustration at having to allow non-representative behavior and actions control the House of Representatives, completely reject Cantor and wrap them in political barbed wire. Now, he may not have the stomach for this, but it would bring a NEW Republican Party into being. The GOP would actually return to being Grand, could strike POLITICAL bargains with more moderate, less shrill voices on the left and essentially 'create' a coalition party that could get things done.
SMAX, one party pulled out all the stops to prevent American citizens from voting in this election. The other party didn't. One party has campaigned on nothing but lies, about the President's birthplace, about what Romney recommended for General Motors, about the unemployment numbers, about who brought on the current slow economy, etc. etc. The other party didn't. Do you know why the Republicans kept control of the House of Representatives? More people voted Democratic than Republican in House races nationwide this year, but gerrymandering skewed that into more seats for Republicans. Which party tried to impeach a sitting President for having a consensual affair? Which party published a campaigning guide advising candidates to accuse their opponents of being "sick" "traitors" and "unAmerican"? Which party held the U.S. credit rating hostage to get what they wanted in the tax code? Hurricane Sandy simply demonstrated a manifest truth - that people need government assistance from time to time. Romney dropped the Benghazi issue because it was a vote-loser - Presidents from both parties have had incidents like that (remember the Marine barracks in Beirut?) and while questions about whether we could have been better prepared are worth asking, anybody trying to make political points out of the deaths of heroic Americans comes across like an opportunistic jerk. It might be worth going to a library once in a while. They aren't full of "musty old books" any more. Mostly, they're full of facts.

Just as in 2008, it was no secret that McCain would lose, the same was true in 2012 of Romney. Rockefeller Republican'ts simply cannot win national office. Conservatives can, but Romney was no conservative.
Until the Republican Party stops actively working against conservatives in the primaries, and allow conservatives to win in an open competition, we will not have a Republican President.
The Republican Party does nto need to reach out to groups, like the Democrat Party does. That is divisive politics that the Democrats have down to perfection.
Instead, the Republican Pary needs to join the 21st century, use the media forms that reach the most Americans, and talk inclusively of how we - of various colors, national origin, religions - are Americans with a common American culture. Appeal to the American pride and "can do" attitude in most Americans. That approach will reach women, people of color, recent immigrants, and those who already lean Republican.
But the solutions offered need to be specific, and truly conservative across the board. Offer a positive vision of what America can be if we pull together as Americans, sharing a common traditional American culture.
In the next election I predict the republicans will choose someone extremely conservative and once again they will loose. Most people I know are fiscal conservatives and social liberal. In other words balance the budget and keep your nose out of my womb and bedroom.
