The author of the article said this:

"What happened last night is that people who didn't like Mitt Romney found that they could like him, and that in fact he had something important to say."

This sentence is obviously unfinished ...

I am afraid that for scores of Americans, it doesn't matter if what Romney is saying is true or not. All that matters to them, is that he "appears" to be believable. All is sadly in the appearance only in this country.

Therefore, I would rather read:

"What happened last night is that people who didn't like Mitt Romney found that they could like him, and that in fact he had something important to say, nevermind how truthful or not"

I am not sure how this article could be more complimentary of our President. Media bias is maddening, but has become very transparent.

ROMNEY: THE QUICK CHANGE ARTIST...
Posted on October 7, 2012 by jcarroll

Romney is like the man on the horse at the circus who can change his coat from the inside to the outside without you see how he did it; or like the person running the shell game at the Midway of a County Fair.
Even tho, it appeared that he won the first debate- he lost. Romney proved beyond any doubt that he is a liar on his tax plan. Romney proved that he will gut Social Security, Medicare, Obama Care and any program that benefits anyone but the rich. He gave us a perfect example: PBS and "Big Bird." Romney proved that he is still a high school bully by breaking the rules of the debate and playing by the rules of a Bain Vulture Capitalist. Ronald Reagan lost his first re-election debate with Walter Mondale in 1984, yet went on to rack up the greatest re-election landslide in U.S. history, losing only Mondale's home state of Minnesota.

Truth be told, the only incumbent president that ever won the first debate was Bill Clinton in 1996. He thoroughly demolished his GOP challenger Bob Dole.

Seriously, the thing I'm hearing most discussed about this debate is Big Bird.. 77 million Americans remember growing up watching Big Bird and Elmo on PBS... laugh all you want but the topic of being a bully surrounds Mitt Romney...

Federal subsidies to PBS equal what the Defense Department spends in 6 hours, SIX hours.. Rural PBS stations that receive a high proportion of federal funding will shut down and kids whose parents that can't afford cable will lose access to many programs including Sesame Street. Romney is not only a bully he's nuts...

I am still afraid of Mitt Romney. The man is a compulsive liar, proven over and over, a bully-think high school, a fake-- from the skin-tone to the bone, a goof ball-- whom even his wife worries about his mental health, things trees a the right height, wanted to let Osama bin Laden continue to haunt us, wanted Detroit to fail, is against a woman's right to choose, I could go on and on... I dont care how bad Pres. Obama performs in debates, I will never ever trust Mitt Romney with this country... and I haven't even begun to lay our what it right with OBAMA!!

Wait, what happened to in 2008, it was so scary, that Palin would be one-heartbeat away from the presidency, how scary and horrible if McCain would win, because Sarah Palin would be VP......now you are claiming, VP debates don't matter and the VP doesn't matter, huh ??

Not vert bright today george. The VP debate doesn't matter because it wont be a determinent of the election. And just because Ryan is a better debater than Biden doesn't mean that he would be a better VP. Palin on the other hand couldn't pour pi$$ out of a boot if the instructions were on the heel.

There is no way a man who lied 27 times in 38 minutes won the debate. It is media and pundits who want to make this race closer in order to market their TV. According to me Romney has tied himself with an anchor in the first debate where he declared 8 trillion dollars of cuts and spending. 5 trillion = 3 trillion to make Bush tax cuts permanent + 1 trillion by reducing tax rates by 20% + 1 trillion by eliminating estate taxes, and other taxes. 2 Trillion new spending on defense. 716 billion dollars of reverse spending on medicare, and 300 billion dollars additional spending by cutting the Obama Care. Romney policies will put 72 million people out of health care, which is OK according to Romney because these people can go to emergency and get care, which is 5 times more expensive, and will increase our debt. Now let us if Obama calls Romney and asks him how he intends to fill this 8 trillion dollars new hole that he is going to create.

I cant believe the way you people defend Obama, his performance was horrible because he has nothing to say in his favor. All his economic policies are a failure, it is appalling the way the white house denied security in Libya and people died. Obama has done his fair share of not telling the truth. Obama states he is against offshore companies, then why has he and his wife invested in offshore companies that can be considered the pioneers of outsourcing. Also he slams Bain Capital all the time then why does he receive campaign contributions form Bain Capital officers since he was campaigning for the senate. Also explain why he has been confronted about his campaign contributions because they have accepted prepaid credit cards which cannot be traced to anyone and then they can give any amount.
