By cutting Big Bird and 10,000 other no brain dept. the US will stop all of this no sense spending. The Dem's is saying that don't worry about that Dripping water, about that light being left on, about that high price gas, it's not the problem it's the GOP being Rich, Why are they Rich, not for being able to fix that water drip, turning off that light, trying to find cheaper oil and gas!!!

Romney isn't waging a war on PBS. He's using PBS as a symbol of government spending on things that are great, but not necessary. That's what he said. We CANNOT keep borrowing money (not just from China) to pay for conviences when we have a HUGE national debt that isn't just going to go away. It's just like my family. I want to give my daughter everything that she wants. I want to her to go on vacation, out to eat, play every sport, have the best clothes and cell phone, etc., but it doesn't make fiscal (or moral) sense to spend ourselves into a hole of which we cannot get out. We need to wake up.
Mitt wants billions more for unneeded and unwanted defense spending but wants to ax Big Bird. What the he%& kind of leadership is that? So sad for the future of this country.
I am a long time viewer/listener of PBS and PRI and am a longtime member of my local NPR station (WHYY - Philly) and believe the reason the Republicans hate them both is because they offer intelligent, in-depth analysis on issues of domestic and international import.
And that bugs the GOP. They would rather have radio listeners tuning into the senseless drivel offered up by the AM loonies like Limbaugh and Hannity and TV viewers relying on FOX for their news and information.

Very well said. Cutting funding for PBS and NPR would do nothing to effect the deficit, it is only a salvo offered to his supporters, and an effort to stop the free flow of intelligent political conversation.
How much Tax Payer Funds is the Treasury paying Limbaugh and Hannity. It would be at lease fare to pay them all Equal to each other, now that would be Fair!!!
I'm tired of churches getting a free ride... they need to pay their fair share of the tax burden! If a 6 year old kid whose parents can't afford cable have to lose educational TV then make the churches pay too!! Religion is costing 100 billion a year in lost revenue...
I understand why Mr. Romney has no use for PBS or Big Bird. His kids have had Nannies to keep his kids entertained. Another strike against non-rich families.
We don't even have cable we just buy videos to watch and my kids learn from other shows like Team Umizoomi, Dinosaur Train, Micky Mouse Clubhouse, Little Einsteins, etc... PBS should have commercials and produce their own funding as well as everyone else, I would have no problem buying Sesame street videos. Romney didn't say get rid of it he just said they need to create some of their own funds. Too many people want everything for free. I was a single parent for 4 yrs, I never expected anything to be handed to me. I graduated *** Laude from the University, I worked for where I am even in a tough situation. More Americans need to realize that life is not free or cheap and they should work for it not live off welfare. If Big Bird is so important to not have commercials then donate some of your own money.

You should pay for those, there is nothing wrong with them. I pay for my water, sanitation, police and other things through city bills, taxes etc. I want to know where in the country you live that any of those things are free? Do you understand that Obama cut the military more than any other President? Protection is not his goal. What ever happened to working and living the American dream, I was a single parent and went to college and I still managed to pay my bills and provide for my children. The American dream is hard work, do you think any country gets the things you describe for free? Wake up it costs money and if you want the government to pay for all that with nothing from you its not reality. Do you know how high the national deficient is? That is going to have to be paid and it might me higher taxes, 4 more years at this rate PBS is not going to be only minimized funding but it will not be an option to even consider keeping it or so many other government funded things. I want a future for my kids and if that means PBS needs commercials that is a lot better than not being able to survive financially because the national deficient. There is no such thing as something for nothing.

Kids are not getting full and are doing worse in school. Teachers and parents are outraged. It is a waste of food and money, it takes a lot more than changing lunch to change the obesity rate and it needs to be at home from the time the kids are born. He wants to hire more science and math teachers to keep up I am on board, but this is just one of the ways he is misplacing funding. Obama has these fantastic ideas but he lacks the understanding, experience, and know how to make them a reality without seriously hurting in another area. If Romney has to lessen the funding to PBS to get our nation back on track to help our kids in other ways more needed, I would rather my children get a good education. 'Big bird/Sesame Street' is not going to your children to read, how water gets into the underground wells, how the electoral college works, division, etc. It teaches the basics at some point you have to realize that your kids need more.
It is like Romney pointed out Obama gave huge amounts to renewable energy(which is needed also), but to the amount he did when the kids need more teachers? I would like to see my sons child/teacher ratio dropped, but there is not funding. Something has to change!

Ed Rendell is one and Al Gore could only defend him saying Denver caused his lack of anything with the facts. At some point the man needs to take responsibility for his actions. Obama talked about his plans like he was going to start them if re-elected, but really what the heck has he been doing with those plans the past 4 yrs? Forcing a half concocted health bill that only 1 in 3 Americans even agrees with some part of it?

You've reduced all arguments against Obama to, "things are worse because Obama is giving people who don't work as hard as me a free ride". You had the privilege of attending a university and you think that everyone just needs to work hard and they'll be able to cover health/education/medical costs? Even with a degree, a decent salary isn't guaranteed, it is incredibly narrow-minded and selfish to make assumptions like people who can't afford these things aren't working hard. I'd hate to see what kind of future your kids have if you lose your job and have to rely on Romney's government for assistance.
