All the Republican sleaze is rallying around the sleazy Romney. Romney is a corporate raider, a vulture preys on weak companies, sucks their cash, fires the employees and then files bankruptcy on the gutted company. And this is the kind of people the Republican establishment is defending? Give me a break.

We need someone to cut all the fat and waste out of this government because our debt is unsustainable. Obama wastes money on Solyndra and who gained anything?

Well, I'm glad to hear you're against corporate subisidies. I am, too.

No private corporation should get tax credits nor subsidies in a CAPITALIST nation. To say otherwise is to advocate fascism.

General Motors rebounded very nicely because of Obama. Romney wanted GM to fail.

I would have let it fail, as well. I don't see any reason for the federal government to prop up private enterprises.

There is no "too big to fail" in a capitalist society, imo.

twoctruth says:
Romney, Gingrich, Obama... it doesn't matter. They are all 'establishment' candidates. And the 'establishment' has dug us into a deep hole, and they are still digging.

Our National Debt is now pushing $16 Trillion and debt service alone is now eating up about 25% of tax revenue. This is unsustainable. Interest on the National Debt is starting to siphon huge amounts of cash away from critical programs and is driving us deeper into debt... just to pay the interest.

It's time to take our country back from the special interest groups and their representatives (Romney, Gingrich, Obama, et al).

We need real change to get us back on track. Ron Paul 2012.

Oh Yeah...that's real change. Ayn Rand gave permission to the most ruthless sociopaths to do anything at any cost to turn a profit for the global non-democratic corporate government. In Ayn Rand libertarian world, if grinding the homeless and selling them as dog food is profitable, do it and keep the government out of the way.

The media take out-of-context remark about Romney wanting to "fire people" (he should have said fire companies or service providers) was the usual cocktail of media vileness and nonsense at work. Admirably spotted and admonished by Ron Paul, who is easily the best horse in this race. Unfair to judge Romney one way or the other on his Bain record. It is a bit worrying though about Romney's historical attachment to Leveraged BuyOuts (LBOs), ie debt financed takeovers, as this is debt financed buying and selling is what caused the 1990s crash and the more severe toxic debt crash which we're suffering from now. Need a more stable economic rudder for the immediate and longer future, which is why voting for Ron Paul is crucial.

tiredofpropaganda says:
<<Romney, for his part, has tried in recent days to explain the private equity business. He told reporters in Greer as the day began that in the private sector, some businesses grow and thrive while others have to be cut back in order to survive and become stronger. "Sometimes you're successful at that and sometimes you're not," Romney said.>>

I guess that the only difference between Romney and Mother Theresa (while she was with us) is about $250,000,000.00. It never really had anything to do with making obscene amounts of money at the expense of workers. How many more jobs could have been saved if he and his cronies had not made so much money.

Huntsman's comment about <<creative destruction in capitalism>> is nothing but "1984" doublespeak. "Creative destruction?" Please.... Creation is creation, destruction is destruction. Did the Bain associates make *nothing* when they destroyed jobs?

The Republican Party platform is nothing but a recipe for letting the rich pick over the carcass of the United States on its way down rather than trying to maintain its greatness.

Obama is making us an intitlement nation where we will all march in lockstep to get what we need to survive. He is killing this nation, but that is the objective. Vote for "me" if you want to eat and if you're real nice, you get some extra cake.

It is clearly evident that what Romney did at Bain was immoral and unethical even though it was legal. In the case of KB Toys, he borrowed using the company's assets as collateral and then paid themselves [at Bain] over 70 million dollars in "fees". All the while in complete disregard for the good and welfare of it's employees.

If you had a business you truly cared about, would you simply use it as a cash cow, run up its debts, pay yourself "fees", and then when you can't keep up with the payments or no one is willing to extend any lines of credit simply pocket the money and tell your employees "adios suckers"? To me anyone that does this is simply immoral, unethical, and does not take into account the lives they are destroying or the number of American families they are putting on the street.

It is clear as day that the robots at Fox news and the GOP establishment have "anointed" Romney and they are supporting him "tooth and nail" regardless of his behavior at Bain. As a long time Republican, I am disgusted and alienated by the way our party has become.

What is even more despicable is that many Republicans are either too naive or simply too dumb to see than Romney's actions at Bain were immoral and unethical, but they are willing to vote for him simply because of their belief that only he can defeat Obama in the Presidential elections.

I'm sorry, but I'd rather cut off my hands than to vote for someone who behaves like this. It's one thing to want to make money by creating great products by employing sharp minds like Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, or Warren Buffet did, but it's another to simply use a company's assets to borrow money, pay yourself millions in "fees" and then declare bankruptcy throwing thousands on the streets.

His values are not in line with those worthy of becoming President of this great country.

Obama doesn't know business and he protects his cronies like Holder when they should be prosecuted for the roles they played in the gun walking fiasco. One of his advisors the the CEO of General Electric that got millions from Obama for windfarms and all the equipment is being manufactured in CHINA!!!!!!!!!!! Companies like GE do not need free money from this government that you and I have to eventually pay for.

If these were his "values" at Bain then I have no doubt he'll put America up for sale to the highest bidder (Chinese) and put us all out on the streets without blinking an eye. What this country needs is a moral and ethical man as President. We need a new Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, or Teddy Roosevelt.

I'm all for capitalism and free markets, but there is no one that can tell me that his behavior at Bain was ethical and moral. To me the only candidate thus far who is making any kind of sense is Ron Paul. He has served in the armed forces of this country, speaks plainly and without double talk. He votes according to his principles and values which have remain steadfast for decades (limited government, free markets, personal responsibility, abolition of the Fed, return to the gold standard, bring our troops back home and secure the border, less government, and less taxes). Almost all his financial support comes from individual contributions from the middle class. He has not become rich by taking money from lobbyists or corporations. He has even accepted to not receive any kind of congressional retirement benefits. To me these actions speak louder than words.

And for you Democrats out there you must know that Obama is currently the highest recipient of corporate contributions from Wall Street with Mitt coming in a close second. If this doesn't tell you anything, I'm not sure what does.
