- In a year or so you will find out the real meaning of socialism and communism the hard way! Obama is fast turning this country into a communist state. Just in the last few months the United States has become the main owner of most of the major banks and we now own General Motors and there's talk that the credit card companies are going to be next. I think soon the insurance companies will be included in that list, too! Obama also said in one of the debates that he wanted to close everyone's IRA's and 401k's and put the money in a general pool. I don't know what you think about it but I think the money that people have worked all of their lives to save should belong to them and no one else and should be left alone and not put into a general fund or pool.

- Senator Coburn from Oklahoma said a few days ago, before these hearings began, that he probably won't vote for her. I hope he doesn't and I hope he is not alone! I'm praying that she won't be confirmed because if she won't give straight answers in these hearings how can she be trusted to be on the supreme court? Another thing, even though she hasn't given a straight answer about it in these hearings, she is clearly pro-abortion. I am definitely pro-life! I am against abortion in any situation. She is also for gun control. I see no reason for anyone to own an assault rifle but we should be allowed to own handguns and hunting rifles and shotguns.If she is elected to the supreme court she will probably take away our right to bear arms and abortions will probably easier to get than they already are and more innocent unborn babies will be slaughtered than ever!I respect Senator Coburn for standing up for what's right and I hope he stays with his decision not to vote for her!
Incidentally, for those who don't know, Coburn is a licensed medical doctor. He knows what abortions do to a fetus. He is pro-life and doesn't perform abortions. He is a decent man who has done much for the people of Oklahoma. - Reply to this comment

It is entirely appropriate that she side step questions that attempt to divine her personal opinions or hypothetical rulings. It is not Congress' task to find a Justice who will enact it's will. To do so would undermine the independence of the SCOTUS. Congress' task is to determine whether the nominee is a qualified jurist.
I'm pretty conservative and from that perspective I really don't see how righties are not relieved as he11 with this choice. Heck, we could be facing another Bader Ginsberg, instead we have a pretty middle of the road nominee. W.T.F. is the problem? - Reply to this comment
- Invalidating unconstitutional laws is the purpose of the Supreme Court. It is when judges actually create laws from the bench that is the problem.

- I would be all for making it easier for a new mom to raise her kids or to find adoptive parents for that child, but I wouldn't want to start to create baby factories for benefits.

- Really??? Well, isn't it funny that I read this story earlier on a mainstream media news site. It is also funny that I have seen his birth certificate and so has anyone who has bothered to look. I suspect those "hospital personnel" who say his birth certificate is fake are sort of the "Joe the Plumber" type. Just typical unbiased bystanders. Yeah, right. Obama is president. Get over it. - Obama doesn't do much except travel, issue orders his Czar's to do the work, and lie to us all. How's that no taxes for people who earn less than $250K going? Bet you didn't know the health care bill calls for new taxes of pharmaceuticals, personal care items, etc., etc. . . OH and don't forget the high taxes on utility bills via Cap and Trade legislation. Don't have health insurance and don't want it? Be prepared to pay a penalty of 1% to 8%.
Health reform is needed, but it doesn't have to come to us by way of a government program. Perhaps the best bet it regulating what we have and having the Health insurance companies offer a lower cost plan for low income people. Remember, this proposed plan IS NOT FREE! - Reply to this comment
