Mortar...

slow knew Mr. Mustard was in the pantry before he got out of the car.

With no disrespect to your deeply held code of honor and opinion I'll ask you to please try to see another viewpoint... it is actually an incredible thing to "take a walk in some other shoes" so to speak.

Mortar...

That's ridiculous.

#1 - Your mother in law is one person... do you know anybody who voted their convictions... either Dem, Rep, Libertarian... whatever?

#2 - People who "always vote" one party or another ALSO keep pulling the Republican lever

#3 - I know it hurts that the guy you didn't want to win, won... but to say fifty-something million people are lemmings in a country like ours with free speech and thinking etc... is more a slam on our [equally] beloved America than on why people voted in a way you don't agree with.

#4 - He is YOUR president, if you are indeed an American. Don't like it...? work within the political system to find a better man or woman for the job I'm open... always looking for the best person for the job, the persaon who best represents my ideas and viewpoint... and that was why in Nov 2008 -- I voted for Obama.

Bristol isn't out cashing in by trashing her baby's father and grandmother and talking about conversations that were said in private.

That is why Levi is a punk.

Bristol might be screwed up too. But we don't know that because she hasn't inserted her cranium into her waste disposal unit, as Levi has.

Absolutely. That is how he got elected. I used to run political campaigns. I know how the inside works and how people are targeted. Most people are lemmings!

Take my mother in law. She voted for Obama because "I always vote Democrat."

last week she told my son that she made a huge mistake. I asked her why? She said because of Gitmo, all of the spending, this cap&tax bill, and this health care proposal.

I told her that he was just doing what everyone knew he was going to do. I asked her if she even paid attention to what he was saying in the campaign?

She said "not really...I just never vote Republican."

Lemmings!!!

So,

I knew you'd come back after that comment. I wouldn't normally be either that full of myself or as revealing... but man, I had to call you out.

Here's why...

You decide that what I say about myself is not true. But YOU can say I'm "just jealous she can walk away with more than [me]" as if you are the authority on me.

I actually know me, you don't.

Its amazing how people attack this boy and hold him responsible for everything. When, how and why did he become the bad guy? How did Bristol become so virtuous and Levi become such a target of feeding frenzy?

"Bristol isn't out cashing in by trashing her baby's father and grandmother and talking about conversations that were said in private."

How's he cashing in? Remember, it wasn't him that made this whole thing public venue. Good ole Sarah has no qualms speaking her little mind.

Frankly, if she doesn't like all this speculation concerning her resignation, then she should have given a more forthright reason for quiting her position. Even saying personal reasons would have been more acceptable than her cryptic rambling and insinuations. A higher calling/purpose?
What? Is she becoming a nun?
by Mortarman29 July 10, 2009 10:27 PM EDT
Irish,

All of those questions are perfectly acceptable to ask. And everyone is free to speculate or react to her answers about her own decisions in any way they see fit. There is no problem with that.

But here is the difference. Levi is trying to cash in by talking about private family conversations (if he is telling the truth). It is neither his place nor his responsibility to reveal what those conversations entailed. It is no one outside the family's business.

It would be like Chelsey writing a book about how she found a moldy cigar on her dad's desk in the Oval Office..and how she found out what happened and she reveals in the book all of the discussions and fights between her father and mother.

That isnt appropriate for her to do. If an aide did it, that would be one thing. But they are her family.

So Sarah is Levi's family, because they are both that little boy's family. It is dishonorable to reveal things that were meant for the privacy of the family.

This boy is flat our wrong!

Mortarman29,
Okay, I will concede that he shouldn't necesarily be airing dirty laundry or his personal opinions. However, that said, the response from the other camp was also not "family" like.

I still stand by my original statement. The comments attacking him in regards to his relationship, irresponsible behavior as a father and many more, have been ruthless and unfounded. I initially believed that these boards were for conversation, exchange of ideas, philosophies and even learning some new perspectives. Now they are mostly a magnate for hateful, small minded people who can vent and say whatever comes to mind in the safety of anonymity. It disgusts me.

White privilege is when you can get pregnant at seventeen like Bristol Palin and everyone is quick to insist that your life and that of your family is a personal matter, and that no one has a right to judge you or your parents, because "every family has challenges," even as black and Latino families with similar "challenges" are regularly typified as irresponsible, pathological and arbiters of social decay.

White privilege is when you can call yourself a "***'' redneck," like Bristol Palin''s boyfriend does, and talk about how if anyone messes with you, you''ll "kick their ***'' ***," and talk about how you like to "shoot ***" for fun, and still be viewed as a responsible, all-American boy (and a great son-in-law to be) rather than a thug.

This can only happen in America...

In other cultures, when a young girl is pregnant, everybody in his and her family work hard to ensure he live up to his responsibility as the father of the child when the child is born.

In America, when a young girl is pregnant, everybody in her family works hard to decide if she should get an abortion, give the child for adoption or raise the child when the child is born. In America, the biological father does not exist in the picture.

That's because it's a foregone conclusion the biological father is an utter moron if he was so stupid he didn't wear a condom.

As Palin promotes her upcoming book and then moves on to a lucrative deal with Fox, she'll continue to maintain that Levi didn't know what he was talking about.

Levi may just have inside information regarding the reason for Palin's bailin as Alaska Governor. We know he had inside information on Bristol.

For Levi to say anything at all, wasn't in his best interest. But to lie would be even worse. Lying could be held against him in a battle over the kid. He just said things were going better with the Palins, so I don't think he would be stupid enough to lie. He may be stupid, but not that stupid.

Yes he is family, because his son is family.

Second, it doesnt matter if he calls Sarah a nice woman. As a party of the family, if he had any manners, he would know that what is said and done within the family...stays there!

Why is it that most liberals dont understand what respect means?

*******************

If what you say is true, then why didn't SArah just produce a birth cert or DNA evidence for Trig instead of throwing Bristol under a bus by repeating her and Levi's business? Or is the telling of family business reserved for Sarah and Todd but no one else?

Levi is NOT part of their family--save your Appalachian back country "I was born in a log cabin views" for others--a family requires more than the same genetics--and loyalty and respect is earned not given just because some idiot is related to you. If genetics were required for a family--no adopted child could ever be in one.

Fedup...speaking your mind is one thing. But what he is doing is talking about family conversations, that should not be revealed to the public. It is about respect for your family. He is disrespecting his family, who invited him into their home...and all so he can get paid.

That is a kid with no honor.

If the news reports earlier were accurate, Levi was about to go to court for the Palin's limiting access to his child and other things they supposedly did to him. Their bribe of a job on the oil fields fell apart and after Palin lost the VP bid--him and Bristol marrying was no longer in the cards.
In fact, Levi stated that much of his problems with Bristol were the fault of Sarah and Todd--there appears to be no love lost there and having a child with a girl does not automatically make a person part of a family.

You are right, family connotes loyalty, respect and cohesion--those things do not seem to be traits that Palin fostered in Levi--so no loyalty is due. Blood relation does not make anyone family--how they are treated does and by all accounts there is bad blood between him and Palin--also--check your facts, Levi is over 18--your days of talk of the woodshed or curbing him or even grounding him are over-his mom is not a fan of Palin's nor Palin of his mom--and his dad has not ever been in this picture.

Whatever you may think of Levi--he has a right to his opinion, but in that it is rather shallow and vindictive--I'm not sure the press had an obligation to report on it--unless they have diminished themselves to gossip columnists.

Anyone who is even slightly realistic, knows that Sara Palin is trying to cash in on her notoriety. Generally, women always look for the bigger better deal without giving much thought about the implication or issues it may cause and there's no reason to believe this is anything different, so...

You sit there and say such bad things about this guy, who wants to have a relationship with his child, and say nothing about how her daughter could've kept her legs shut. Typical women always make bad decissions then blame everyone else...
