Palin is such an underwhelming choice for any office here in Alaska higher than Wasilla mayor. We need a new rule that only crayons be used to mark alaskan ballots, since people who voted for Palin should not be trusted with sharp objects.

Good! Maybe someone else can finish that bridge she started. She must be pretty dumb if she could only find a crew that just new how to build a half a bridge. I guess with only a half a bridge the crew couldn't figure out how to get to the other side so they could build the second half.

Yes but usually the announcement of the new job comes FIRST! For example: Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State THEN she resigns as New York Senator. Doing it the other way around is just strange.

I had no idea she was 'under federal investigation' for embezzlement and other criminal wrongdoing. I'm glad her attorney pointed that out.

Well, about the media being on Sarah's case, she has no one to blame but herself. She used her family to push her agenda and held them up as an example of what families were supposed to be and tried to put others to shame because of their lack of "values". When the media pointed out certain aspects of her family that were not perfect she cried foul.

In the end these things are always simple.

The other thing that put her down was ther way she came on so strong against the dems. In her way she said the "dems are evil" and "the repubs are right". Well, after what the repubs did to our country the last 8 years that was like saying the earth is flat.

Message to Sarah -----> go moose hunting

I read an article recently, written by someone who went to high school with Palin, and he said she was consumed with petty grievances, and would hold grudges against slights (both real and imagined). Judging from her trying to get her ex-brother-in-law fired, unseemly quarrels with her daughter's boyfriend, among other adolescent behavior, and now this...? I'd say the man wasn't just making it up. She reminds me of Richard Nixon without brains. She belongs on Jerry Springer, not in any office of authority.

The majority of the country profess conservative values. Where are you getting your info?!

The USA has experienced the greatest periods of growth under conservative leadership (ex: Reagan) and has been put into depression and severe recessions under liberal leadership. (Carter, FDR) Obama is presently putting us into such oppressive debt you must be living on another planet!

Where the heck do you get that conservatives declare that the US is only a nation for Christians to benefit??That claim is false.

As for the advancement of civilization and oppression....Democrats are hardly advancing "civilization"...maybe their own pocket but not civilization; abortion rights including late term abortion, oppressive debt, legislation that no one reads, special passes for not paying taxes, firing of employees without regard to law, tax and trade bill with censure on the science that shows "global warming" is a farce, health care reform that amounts to destroying the free market, government meddling in far too many businesses, insisting the "rich' aka hard working individuals who provide the jobs, pay for the "poor" aka individuals who live off the taxpayer and the push for more government control in our daily lives.

I am conservative and I don't consider your post even vaguely accurate as to "conservative traditions" or what Republicans fight for.

What is all this nonsense about Palin employing some sort of clever strategy here?

Had this even remotely been a thought-out political calculation, the timing and preparation would have been far better, and she would surely have had someone capable of constructing a sentence write her speech for her.

This was nothing more than Sarah Palin bailing out...pure and simple. There was no grand design, no cunning plan. It was the panicky, spineless act of a terrified adolescent, who found herself far beyond her depth and ran, deserting her constituents and betraying her oath of office.

I for one will wait for the other shoe to drop rather than speculate on what it was that pushed her over the edge.

Too bad though...I had hoped she would run on the Republican ticket in 2012...2016 and maybe even 2020. It would have been quite entertaining to see the Republican looters grasping at straws in a desperate attempt to get back in power.

Remember...that is how poor little Sarah got into this mess in the first place...as a cynical ploy to merchandise and pass off an unqualified airhead in an effort to get votes, although she is probably the intellectual equal of Bush and McCain and certainly that of Dan Quale.

Those imbeciles were just packaged so much more effectivly.

I heard the reason for the bailout was because Palin is in legal trouble.

It seems a group of bearded Muslims were recently vacationing in Alaska. They decided to go on a hunting excursion, Palin saw them, mistook them for some Moose, grabbed the helicopter and the guns and shot the poor guys.

Palin has no depth, no substance - and a QUITTER!
Just another Republicon bully - good riddance, and your lawyer sucks.
Anyone who would vote for this loser in the future has no morals and no brains.

Zboes, your history is correct up to a point. It should also be noted that the Republican leadership, particularly, Barry Goldwater voted forcefully against the civil rights act and the voting rights act. After the Democratic Party embraced civil rights and made it a part of their platform, the pro-segregation dixiecrats, such as Jesse Helms, joined the Republican Party and have steered the Republican Party ever since.

58% of the Land in alaska is owned by the Federal Government (the one headed by Barrack Hussein Al-Bama), so God must be on the side of the Democrats!!!
