"She did not field questions, and would not give any indications about her future plans." What a surprise that she would not take questions.

She has been on a political blitz this last month. She contrives a dust up with Letterman. She has a trip through DC and New York. She now makes an announcement that she has resigned. Now in a week or so she will announce her plans for the future. Then after that she will have a press conference about her new job.

I find quite funny that people liked to ignor Obama's, not even clever, way of avoiding answers to questions that would idicate any sort of opinion on his part. It is discusting how biased the media is. It's a joke and a shame in this coutry. People are such followers man.

You are the winner of the CBS tin foil hat award for talking about the Main stream media conspiracy theory. It seems that The mains stream media is covering Palin through her NY trip, contrive Letterman dust up, DC speech, magazine interviews and resignation. It seems they are certainly covering her.

She kept control of the situation by not answering questions. She knew those reporters weren't on her side. I don't blame her. She is an impressive woman. I don't think she will run for President, but I like her and I think she would make a good one.
by Dunestrider July 3, 2009 3:45 PM EDT
Wow, good think we didn't elect her as Vice President. We don't need any quitters.

Yeah it is a good thing now she is free to go after the obama and beat his a$$ in 2012 if he isn't kicked out of office before then.
by jamesste3 July 3, 2009 10:00 PM EDT
Naah, I don't think she is a quitter. I think she just did the right thing, and it was something that politicians just don't do. Give up power for the good of her state. Her office has been practically consumed with personal attacks and accusations since the election was over. Where was the benefit to Alaska in all of this? In one press conference she eliminated that waste of time and money. I don't know if her political career is over, but this was a classy thing to do, and I don't expect most people to get it or even care really.

A quitter never wins and a winner never quits....

I will certainly miss her comedy act.

Another nice and complimetary comment brought to you by a miserable liberal. I guess when you look in the mirror you see yourself as more beautiful than her too. That is called narcissism and you can get treatment for it from your shrink.
by jamesste3 July 3, 2009 10:17 PM EDT
Why is she a Witch? Why is she scary? I don't understand? She is pretty amazing as best I can tell. She isn't an Ivy League politician, that's true. She is basically a regular person who can actually do a great job at busting the political good-ole-boy network. That is why Washington tried to destroy her. I just don't get why the regular people are so quick to join in.

Something is going on behind the scenes. This ego-monster would not just resign. She is the type that would run for another office and if whe won, just walk away and leave Alaska in the tank. She is being forced out by someone... I wonder what they know????
by stn_sage July 3, 2009 4:33 PM EDT
I agree with you, friend! Something's going on here! Probably ANOTHER
BIG TIME 'family values' SNAFU, about her or someone in her family, that she's trying to derail by leaving office---so she can claim it doesn't matter anymore because she's no longer governor!

Whatever it is, we'll probably find out---soon enough! And it will probably be pretty messy!
by hjtl July 3, 2009 4:35 PM EDT
You people are idiots.
by johndevinejr July 3, 2009 4:37 PM EDT
Yeah, smells funny to me too! Maybe she way hooking up with Fred Sanford....I mean Mark Sanford down there in SC.

I certainly hope she is the next repub candidate, that would be excellent!

Pray she is, because Mr. Obama would be OUT

When the nut case in North Korea launches the missile this fall for HI or AK, you can blame the new governor. I know you would never blame the wonderful guy you all elected in the White House as he is just trying to get everyone to like us again, right?
by xlib July 4, 2009 7:20 AM EDT
So, tell us, just who kept Palin in the spotlight?? Was it Palin herself or was it your media? Try and think there. You called her a "drama queen", just who kept bringing her up.
It is your media that speculates.
I just love how the first thing your party does is call the opposition stupid. Wow, for a party that has the likes of pelosi, reid, and biden that is funny.
As for the "I can see Russia, etc, etc." It was your messiah that droned in a campaign speech about how he has campaigned in all 57 states.
Then again, for a guy who served exactly 140 days in Congress and voted present AND never wrote a bill... Why he's doing a wonderful job.
Me, personally, I like the woman and I don't think she deserved all the hate and bile that your party and your media threw at her.

Better a pipeline to provide much needed U.S. energy than a train to no-where compliments of the idiots you support!

Her main responsibility is to her family POTUS.

I just hope all of you liberals fly on Airbus' soon. The world will be a much better place then.
by GiveMeFreedom July 3, 2009 7:02 PM EDT
Potus - please make sure you fly the Airbus 330 or 340. You liberals please have a nice flight now.
by GiveMeFreedom July 3, 2009 7:36 PM EDT
Nope. I feel fine. A little tired from my party last night, but getting another party tonight. I try to fly Boeing jets when possible too.
Sorry you liberals are so miserable all the time.
by GiveMeFreedom July 3, 2009 8:03 PM EDT
She is a beautiful woman. She is raising a special needs child. She is not asking you and me to pay for her child. Gee, I see your point. She is an idiot. She should get on welfare and demand that government support her and her family due to her "bad luck". Why didn't I see it earlier.

And remember when you wait on me tonight, I like my steak without the dirt of the floor and my red wine without your spit in it. I do tip well so please be nice tonight. I will be the one paying with the AMEX black card - I am not a racist and a sexist like you appear to be.
by GiveMeFreedom July 3, 2009 8:08 PM EDT
Sorry Potus. I have to leave now. Dinner and a show at my favorite restaurant tonight (with my children too). You know us idiot republicans who actually spend time with our children instead of farming them out to the streets to harrass people like you liberals do.

Anyway, date night for the family. C U l8er. I will think of you and your misery. Hope it ends sooner than later for you.
by jamesste3 July 3, 2009 9:53 PM EDT
According to her brother, she is spending about 80% of her office's resources dealing with accusations and obstructions that are purely personal and not helping Alaska. I think what she did was a selfless move, and it will benefit her family and Alaska. I certainly don't think the American public will understand or care that she did something that most politicians wouldn't dare do. Most people don't really care either way. It's like High School, if the popular girl says hate her you hate her. It is fun, and keeps you in the "in-croud".
by blitzder July 4, 2009 10:55 AM EDT
Thats gonna end up the same way as 'the bridge to nowhere' and 'Drill!baby,Drill! ended up.
