Jenny Sanford Says It's Up to Her Unfaithful Husband to Save Their 20-year Marriage
- Don't blame others for his own action. He got an itch to scratch and he found it from other than his wife and doing it knowingly even after the wife told him no.

- While many folks are feeling sorry for poor Jenny did it ever occur that she may be a real *itch to live with and perhaps drove him to the other woman. Just a thought. Besides she has all of the money!

- Jenny is showing a lot of class...she is willing to forgive her husband for the sake of her kids and simply for the sake of doing the right thing- if her husband is sincere...she seems to be a true Christian with strong faith...all things are possible- the marriage can be repaired. She is right in stating that it is up to her husband whether it will be repaired. She is very admirable in the way she is handling things. She is not stupid or a bimbo...she is a very wise, strong woman who has a backbone of steel and a lot of people will never understand that...they only understand hurt feelings and taking the easy way out. Jenny, you're awesome...

- Mrs. Sanford is rapidly spiraling from graciousness. Her stated willingness to forgive her husband for his adultery for the sake of her (not our) children is telling. She is using the media to assuage her own shortcomings in the marriage. Both of them need to seek counseling and actively lower their public profiles. Neither Governor nor Mrs. Sanford are true Christians; if they were their four children wouldn't be dragged into a mockery of faith. However, they are true Republicans; one's a louse, the other schemes. They deserve each other. The children deserve neither.
- It is moral for another to forgive a sinner who has sinned against them. But in the case of adultery, that's where it should end. The wife needs to stick it to him financially and divorce the bum and make him pay, pay, pay, pay, pay. It still won't change his proclivities, but it will sure keep him in his place, where he belongs for what he did to his wife and kids.

- She just wants to keep Sanford's (socialist) health care plan, pension and perks. It's alright for people like Scumford to have socialist (government) healthcare, just not the rest of America.
After all he's doing such a wonderful moral job in his position.
Or maybe she's into a Argentina Threesome! - Reply to this comment
- She is as bad as her husband. I read up on her and all reports indicated she is the real power behind the throne, that it was her who pushed him into the governorship, and that she routinely interferes in government business - he has, if you can believe it, a total of 4 chief-of-staff's quit on him due to her interfering with their jobs.
After reading this statement, I feel those reports are completely confirmed.
If she wants to forgive her hubby then fine. Do it behind closed doors. But, she is essentially telling the people of S.C. here that they are sinners if they don't forgive Mark. She is obviously working out a campaign where a month from now there will be this rediculous scripted circus of her forgiving her hubby on national TV and then demanding that the S.C voters forgive him, and re-elect him to another term. What rot and rubbish.
I sure hope the voters of S.C don't fall for this rubbish. But I'll bet that they do.
Somebody, please tell be how to dig a trench between S.C. and the rest of the country so that the state can break off from the mainland and float away! We don't need this in our country. - Reply to this comment

- Couldn't agree more. At this point Jenny just needs to stop talking publicly and deal with her husband in private. I really couldn't care less at this point whether or not she forgives him. I sick of both of them.
- i read where she's a former wall street exec as well as the brains behind Mark's fiscal management of the state. the article eluded to Jenny being a micro-managing control freak not only with their boys but also with Mark, between their separate & mutual friends as well as business associates, and it's been so oppressive that Jenny has badly strained or broken numerous relations over the years. it seems that her ways have broken Mark's spirit to the point where mentally he's reduced to nearly nothing. it may well be what caused him to fall out of love with her and led him to stray. in cases involving a domineering adult, it isn't uncommon where they are mentally and physically unavailable to their spouse. since the story broke, Mark has looked and sounded like he's whipped to the point of exhaustion and it doesn't all seem to be stemming from the fallout of his disappearance and affair. Jenny seems to project the feeling that she needs and wants Mark more than Mark needs or wants her. equally, she may be tainting the boys against their dad. a lot of what i've read and seen about the Sanford's reminds me of my parents split and eventual divorce. Mark and Jenny's relationship seems unrepairable.
- Marriage will get very different this century. It has changed many times over the years.

- Does anyone else think she looks like Ann Coulter with dark hair? That's enough to make any man run screaming into the jungles of South America and into the arms of a squaw.
