- There are 21 people including Americans are being held by Israel not just 1. They were arrested for trying to deliver aid to the people in Gaza. Humanitarian relief for people who are starving and going without medical care.

And a lot of Americans did vote for a ticket with him at the top. The GREAT majority of these folks continue to support the president, though by no means do all of them agree with everything he's done... that's just not the way politics works.

And who is Mary Jo Kopechne? She was the 29 year old secretary that a cowardly, drunken, philandering Ted Kennedy let drown off Chappaquiddick Island in 1969. If he had not been the brother of John and Bobby, he would have surely been arrested and tried for manslaughter or worse.
Ted Kennedy later went on to become the "lion of the Senate," but those familiar with the case say Kennedy has blood on his hands. If AP and CBS are going to bring up old news like the Palin emails, they might as well bring up something important like the treachery of Ted Kennedy. He should be properly vilified before he dies.

- After years of being Independent, I am thinking about joining the Democratic party to learn more about slinging mud. I feel left out and it appears the dems have the tools and training to sling mud as far away from themselves as possible.

The point is, the liberal media does not mind nitpicking over emails for someone they hate, like Palin. However, when it comes to something really important, like the homicidal actions of Ted Kennedy, who they think can do no wrong, they are happy to blow it off.

Self-made media conscience Spiro Agnew was tripped up by negligent workmanship; "I am not a crook" Richard Nixon bungled a burgle and not even opening the door to China could salvage his Presidency; the great General Ike bit the bullet and took the heat for a fallen spy plane; don't even get me started on Dan "potato" Quayle; George W. Bush has books written about his language faux pas; and none of these requires one to be a liberal media shill to see the irony or poetic justice or sheer absurdity of human behavior. Sorry, but I think the media is doing a fine job of protecting America's right to know, even when it hurts. And it does, sometimes.
- You would not know anything about Mary Jo Kopechne if it wasn't for that media you despise. If it hadn't been for that, Ted Kennedy would have run for President and likely won. When Robert Kennedy was assasinated, that ended the Kennedy legacy in the US, at least as far as the Presidency was concerned, since everyone knew that the Chapaquiddick affair would prevent Ted Kennedy from making a Presidential run.
Yes, what Ted did with that situation was bad, and he should have been prosecuted for negligent homicide. If he had simply called the cops as soon as he walked away from the car, she would probably still be alive today, since there is proof she survived the wreck and was trapped in an air pocket for some time after the impact.
But, the fact was that he wasn't prosecuted, that's the fault of the government at that time. And it's the fault of the MA voters that they keep reelecting him, despite knowing about the incident.
The Palin story was about a NATIONAL candidate that the entire country voted on, it's an apples-to-oranges comparison.
I frankly found it quite interesting. It is also a very relevant story since it's obvious to everyone that Palin will run in 2012, and it's also obvious that she has a chance of winning the GOP primary. A small chance, but a chance nevertheless. This story illustrates how she would likely run her own Presidential campaign. And it also illustrates a big mistake the GOP repeatedly made - the failure to do proper background checks. It was only a few days after Joe the Plumber was paraded around by the GOP that the news broke that he wasn't paying his taxes, which completely deflated the Joe the Plumber campaign and actually worked to help Obama since it just made it seem like Joe was just another Republican cheater - someone who likes to tell people how the laws should be but doesn't follow them himself.
I'm very glad how the Palin story played out because it's obvious now that she is a wacko and would wreck the country if she got elected.
