Comments on: Axelrod Defends Stimulus; GOP Bashes It
Senior Obama Economic Adviser Says No 2nd Stimulus Yet, Urges Patience In Face Of Mounting Skepticism
- At what cost?
Who's footing that bill?
Why should I pay for the "socialization" of YOUR medical expenses?
No wonder you oppose fixing our nation's health care. "You got yours, so FFFF everyone else."
Typical self serving clownservative.
The cost for me is $460 a year for the family plan. Why should you pay for my medical? Maybe it is the small price you pay for the 22 1/2 years I dedicated to your freedom and protection. No, not FFFF everyone else. FFFF those who are unwilling or too lazy to make the effort to improve their lives, the lives of their children and society as a whole. - Reply to this comment

I got my info straigt from the transcript not FOX news. Refusal to deny tax increases means only one thing, and increase in taxes.
That sounds more like Russell's Teapot, than common sense. - Reply to this comment
- They say that politics is the art of the possible, but I wish Axelrod had listened to economist Paul Krugman. The stimulus package was too small, and too full of lobbyist written concessions to businesses. Krugman predicted that it would ineffectual as written, and we'd need another stimulus. And that is what has happened.
Obama has to stop being 'politic' about these measures. He bent over backward to accomodate Republicans on the stimulus package, and they have lambasted him over it anyway.
To those who say the stimulus package is just more Dem 'big government', you obviously don't understand economics. Here is how traditional such a package is in a time of 10% unemployment: if the GOP were in charge, they would ALSO have put forward a stimulus package. A few more tax cuts, but LOTS of gov't spending to replace that lost from the private sector in the last year. - Reply to this comment

Read my post from the transript of this interview. Axelrod rfused to deny taxes would be raised for the less than $250k crowd.
I read it. He NEVER said that he was proposing raising taxes, and simply said it was NOT being ruled out as an option.
No options are being ruled out just yet. Sounds smart to me. - Reply to this comment

I forgot to mention that the TRCARE system which is used by military dependents and retirees, at least in my case since I retired, works very well and it is actually run by private health care insurers.

So are you against any profit making industry or just the ones targeted by Obamas socuilaist agenda. And you propose replacing our current health care system with what?
What is wrong with medicare and medicaid? I guess nothing as long as you like waste and corruption.
No I don't appose the mililtary health care system or the VA health care system or the retire military health care system (I am a receipiant of that). I appose the bureaucracies that do a poor job of running them which is especially the case in medicare and medicaid. I also appose my tax dollars being used to provide lifelong health care to those that have no earned it and are unwilling to make the effort to pay for themselves.
When and where did I say that I was "against any profit making industry"? I am AGAINST insurance companies that take in TRILLIONS in premiums, and then DENY payments to their "customers". (Guess what? I'm against Bernie Madoff's ponzi scheme too!!) I can't believe that you conservatives see NO PROBLEM with companies making money, by driving small businesses and individual citizens into bankruptcy, by companies that rip off their customers. And NO COMPANY should "make a profit" by denying people needed health care.
Now this is REALLY off the wall: "I also appose my tax dollars being used to provide lifelong health care to those that have no earned it and are unwilling to make the effort to pay for themselves." How does one go about "earning the right" to needed health care procedures? Do you realize that 40% of ALL BUSINESSES are no longer offering health care to their new employees as part of a benefits package, and the number is only supposed to go higher? And those that are, are making their new hires pay a FORTUNE in premiums, deductibles, and co-pays.
Many aren't offering 401k's to new employees anymore, or have stopped matching on the existing 401k's to existing employees.
Exactly HOW are these people supposed to survive when they retire 40 years from now?
And why do you think that businesses have an obligation to provide ANYTHING to their employees, other than a paycheck? - Reply to this comment

You and USASTILLONTOP need to turn off the Fox News, aka the "speculation channel", and join the rest of us in the real world.

So this is going to have to be paid for. Two-thirds of the expenses -- two-thirds of the expense of it under the president's plan and proposal would be done by transferring money within the health care system from Medicare on wasteful spending, giveaways to insurance and drug companies, and so on.
Can not confirm nor deny the raising of taxes. What a joke.
What's really pathetic is that you can't slam Obama on anything he's done so far, so you have to resort to what he MIGHT do. Laughable!!!
Nothing is ruled out, as far as reforming our woefully broken health care system, and the only joke here is your speculation and guessing as to what MIGHT or what COULD happen.

How can you call Obama a liar for saying that we won't pay higher / new taxes if we earn under $250,000 / year, if we aren't paying higher or new taxes while earning less than $250,000?
What a clown.
