Comments on: Health Care Reform Enters Critical Phase
As Obama Promotes His Plan, CBSNews.com Examines The Status Of The Health Care Debate In Washington
- Obama's Public HealthOption should be canned and is one of the stupidest ideas to come along in recent memory.
The Public Health Option will bankrupt the country, will throw tens of thousands of rank and file employees of insurance companies out of work, and will lead to poor quality care in the form of wait lines and rationing of care.
There is no need to dismantle private insurance(which covers 85% of Americans) just to cover the 15% who are uninsured(a significant percentage of these uninsured by the way are already eligible for existing programs and/or have the funds to pay for at least some of their health care premiums or costs).
Changing the tax code(similar to what Bush and McCain proposed previously) to better enable individuals to purchase insurance, reducing crushing government regulation, and providing some reasonable subsidy(emphasis on reasonable) for certain financially disadvantaged uninsured individuals to purchase modest catastrophic health insurance coverage would go a long way toward improving the system.
Obama's plan is a disaster. We can't even afford Medicare and Social Security and Obama wants to increase bloated government power and control and reckless spending on health care. This does not make the slightest bit of sense. - Reply to this comment
