- Mustard on a hamburger, teleprompters, a night on the town. Glad the rightwing is grabbing these very serious issues since the nation is in such great shape after 8 years of their control.

- Presidents have always traveled like this, however, a President who is in touch with the people will lead by example. Remember Jimmy Carter turning the thermostat down. Many of us have to look closer to home for entertainment and I believe it would have been more appropriate at this time in history for the Obamas to have a date night in our wonderful Capital. There are plenty of cultural events to attend there. Since it appears the economy is on the mend, surely they could have waited until perhaps the end of the year before doing New York. Maybe taking a private train would have been better than three jets. It would have held all the staff, taken just a little bit longer and saved a heck of a lot of gas. I don't begrudge Obamas their date night nor am I against them traveling for personal reasons. I just think right now, flaunting affluence is poor judgement.

- This is a joke by the RNC, that the president is taking his wife out while GM is going bankrupt, i guess i missed the part where Obama haved anything to do with the troubled company. The moment they decided to start investing all their money into Suv's, thats when their problems began.
On to people asking how much this cost, give it a rest. this is nothing new, presidents have always done this, this is his expense account. Dont like it then tough. Presidents before him all did it and presidents after him will. Get a life - Reply to this comment
- Bush headed to Crawford Tx to clear tumble weeds for more than half his Presidency using Airforce 1's 747 and Obama takes off to NYC for a night for a date with his wife on a much smaller jet and the RNC is crying why? You mean Obama has to stay in W. DC on weekends because it costs too much to move him around? Reiculous.

- This comment section reminds me of the kiddy movie - Ants -
All us little ants arguing if the grasshoppers (elite politicians) are good or bad to us - All I know is this - it does not matter whether dems or reps are in control of Washington - we the ants are still losing -
Wake up America - 330 million ants and less than 600 grasshoppers. WE can vote them ALL out you know. Third party mixture cannot be any worse than we got now. - Reply to this comment

- You should get out of your Fantasy Island in your Irish mountain top once in a while. Ted Kennedy and Nancy Pelosi run America di facto. Obama is just their puppet spending time going theater.

Hhmmmmm.... My fantasies? I'm thinking that you are a bit confused. Ted Kennedy is otherwise occupied and Pelosi, bless her evil, blood sucking haggish soul is lucky to run her electric toothbrush. The only puppets I see are on Nickleodean.
The air up here on my Irish mountain is fresh, crisp and clean. Keeps the senses alert and the mind inspired. You should consider a change of scenery. It might be just the mental adjustment you need. - Reply to this comment
- All you idiots who are complaining that the Obama's shouldn't have a night out forget one little thing; YOU AREN'T THE LEADER OF THE WORLD! YOU don't have to deal with the Iranians (gee, I wonder how that reporter got out of the Iranian jail), the Iraqis, the Pakistanis (the "Pakistan army" just won a major victory over the Taliban), failing banks (getting better), failing car companies, unemployment, health care, the CIA, the FBI, the NSA, Russia, China, the Supreme Court or the hundreds of other things that he has to not only deal with but try to solve the problems of on a daily basis. And you begrudge him a night out. OF COURSE it's going to cost the taxpayers a little money...HE'S THE PRESIDENT, MORON. iT COSTS US MONEY WHEN HE TAKES A LEAK. But, I'd sure rather have a happy President in office than a worry-wart curmudgeon with full bladder.
