The one thing that amazes me is Republican's ability to come up with excuses. Bad Republican poll (or a good Democrat one)? Biased polls, asking only Democrats. Bad economy when Repubs are in charge? Its really the Democratic Congress's fault. War going badly? Biased "liberal" press reporting just bad news. You name it, Republicans have an excuse for it - other than the most obvious one of course - that Repubs are messing up. No, that one never crosses their minds. Those poor ol' Repubs, just so persecuted by everyone, huh? LOL.

So, of course, Republicans will ignore all the bad media stories that are showing up about Obama now and decry the "liberal media". Sensible people will realize that the media is not liberal or conservative - its interested in going after the people in power, its a corporate media. The Repubs had most of the control from 2001-2008, so they got all the bad stories. But now that Dems are in control, we are starting to get the same treatment. But Repubs will ignore that and continue to whine about (the myth) of the "liberal media".

slownewsday05 - I could care less how it works, It's just funny how only poills that he get a 60% approval rating are reported here.

Well if it wasn't for the anti-American republicans, it would probably be closer to 80% or 90%.

Who's fault is that?

You're disagreeing with EVERY legitimate poll out there, as being "setup by some biased Liberal media".

So again - if not the media's polls, then who's polls should we be listening to?

hungry1968-15 - Ok here's your chance , let's hear it?

The "short list":

* Passing the "largest" economic stimulus bill in American history.

* Ordering the closing of Guantanamo Bay military detention facility and abolishing "enhanced interrogation techniques."

* Setting a fixed timetable for withdrawing U.S. combat forces from Iraq.

* Ordering 21,000 additional troops to Afghanistan and enlisting, with modest new assistance, European allies in a new multi-layered strategy there and in Pakistan.

* "Returning science to its rightful place" by lifting the Bush restrictions on federally funded embryonic stem cell research.

* Signing laws to expand children's health insurance (financed by a 61-cent per pack increase in the federal cigarette tax the adviser did not tout).

* Signing a law meant to improve the ability of women who allege pay discrimination to sue their employer.

* Diminishing the role of lobbyists in the White House

* "Forge a meaningful statement from the United Nations" criticizing North Korea's launch of a ballistic missile.

* Lifting travel and remittance restrictions for Cuban Americans who seek to travel more frequently to the island and send more US currency to their immediate family.

* Engaging world leaders in Europe, Turkey, Latin American and the Caribbean with "strength and humility."

Posted by guyfrompa45 at 7:46 AM : Apr 30, 2009

And since you consider Fox News the ONLY source of "non-liberal media", that's the only poll you're willing to accept, is that it?

How about Gallup or RCP?

Where are these polls conducted? Now that Obama is in you can;t find a supporter because they're hiding out. Then when you come across one and ask them what he has done so far they all stuuter and then have nothing to say. Where are the protesters outside the White House with the signs askking why we're still in Iraq? Go voted him in for his promises why aren't you outraged that he hasn;t come through.
Posted by guyfrompa45 at 7:44 AM : Apr 30, 2009

He hasn't done anything?!?!?

Is that what you're bizarrely implying?!?!?!

slownewsday05- Yea it's funny how if the people polled aren't setup ahead of time by the liberal news media that it can't possibly be true.. You're a friggin genius.

The truth is.... everything that has occured in this country was applicable by destiny. There is nothing you or I can change it. We need to stop letting the past mistakes determine our future course of actions. YOu can not drive forward if you are always looking backwards. Stop pointing fingers and start contemplating solutions.

Fro Obama to say hes reachout to the GOP is simply not true. His policies have been written by Pelosi and Reid, who have shut the Republicans out of everything. There has not been a single bill created with "give and take" between both partes.

Simply inviting people to dinner, but rejecting everything they put forward in legislation IS NOT bi-partisanship. The Democrats view of bi-partisanship is.."vote for what WE put together or your not bi-partisan".

They then try and claim that the GOP is the party of "no". Well you know what, I say "no" to higher taxes, huge deficits, and a tax-and-cap ponzi scheme that will raise utility bills 400 - 1400 annually also.

You know who showed REAL bipartisan ship, Bush did? The NCLB act was co-written by the GOP and Kennedy, yet the media never gives him credit. No matter what you think of the bill, it was REAL outreach.

From the most accurate professional polling firm in America, Rasmussen:

"Thursday, April 30, 2009
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 34% of the nation's voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-two percent (32%) Strongly Disapprove

Overall, 54% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance so far. Forty-five percent (45%) disapprove."

.................Funny............how our left-wing NAZI-like press has Obama up in the mid- 60's approval.

Do you think the "news and information" in America is broke or what?

Welcome to NAZI America..............prepare to receive your daily dose of left-wing propaganda from Hollywood, and our mostly liberal MSM wolfpack press.......................sad but TRUE.

Stop trying to run forward, if that's what you call it, and pointing backwards. You run into walls and money pits. Then you want the sane world to come and pick you up or, gulp, "Bail You Out" with the money "we" worked for.
Posted by YouCantBSirius at 6:15 AM : Apr 30, 2009

What is with you people? We, the People, DEBATED for two years on all these issues... With the computers we actually debated as a people for two years about the direction of this nation and YOU do not wish to talk about where we came from. How are we to measure the success of the leader we elected if we do not look at where we started. THERE are no ideas out there, no directions out there except those being used by the President. You want to keep Trickle Down in place, that is obvious, yet you haven't the honor or courage to be honest with your fellow citizen about it. Why? If it's such a great plan, if it did what was promised to the American People present it. Otherwise respect the decision of the People and give us ideas on how we change course.
