"Maybe we have more inspiration because we have an African-American president, that shows us that we could do anything, the sky's the limit," he said. "But I feel like it really doesn't change things [on a daily basis]. It's still high school."

It does not change anything on a daily basis for anyone. Everybody still must wake up in the morning and go to work, school, etc. The election of a bi-racial president does not change the fact people have to make a place for themselves, regardless of skin color. There is no magic wand solution to anything; there is hard work, perserverance, and the determination to improve quality of life. Excuses do not fill your stomach, keep you warm, or place a roof over your head.

He has shown all of America that a black President is just as capable of lying, dishonesty and breaking campaign promises as any white President we have ever had.

Obama is truly a gifted politician.

I would hope that he set an example that Black America can be self-supporting and strive for success even if born in poverty. I would also hope that they realize it took much of white america to vote for and elect him. Perhaps they will understand that white america is not keeping them down, as was the motto of the 60's.
I would like to see them adopt some of Bill Cosby's ideas about Black fathers taking ownership for their children and lives.

Incredibly sad that the neo-conned have been goaded into being ignorant anytime we try to have a reasoned discussion about race. It's Lying Points in action.

Thus you are left with an empty Wallet, no change, holding an empty cone, with no hope of getting any Ice Cream.
Posted by Fedup_w_all_pols at 4:20 AM : Apr 29, 2009

And the person who got your ice cream is under no obligation to pay you back, ever. And the person who got your ice cream had no ability to pay for it, even though you did.

What a BRILLIANT illustration of Obama's trillion dollar "bailout" giveaway.

It's all part of his reverse accountability policy.

If you're able, they take from you. If you're not able, they give to you.

From each according to what he deserved, to each according to what he didn't.

Oh, so THAT'S why they have refused to remove the word "Colored" from their name for all these years.

that's not really what it stood for.

Thanks for 'splainin' that to me.

President Barrack Obama was empowered by voters who are not just black, but latin, asian, white and native americans.

CBS has still not learned about their offensive "Whitewashing" editorials and show how the national awareness to conquer racism still has some blindspots that need to be uncovered.

Even the British parent country has more racial sensitivity than to print something like this.

This article is a bunch of crap. "Support the black people." Kind of sounds like "Black POWER!!" in a more calmed down way... Who gives a hoot what race you are? Of course the person that wrote this article does. People that state they aren't racist are probably the ones that are the most racist of us all. Supporting and singling out one race over what the president has improved is totally racist. Great article... I can't wait until the next...

Obama is not all black because if he was, he wouldn't have won the election.

You better check with the KKK about that.

I never heard of ANYBODY who voted for Obama because he's half white.

Trust America, the white, black, red, and yellow have the equal opportunity to get shoved around, stolen from, lied too, led like sheep to the slaughter, little educational opportunity, no health care, and of course no hope of retirement in the American slavery society.

Thanks to Madoff and to the Clinton administration that just ignored him when he got reported to the SEC in 2000.

Black or not, Obama is the blackest president we've had so far.

So now that he's the president, does this mean we can end Affirmative Action?

Or will white people get protection from racial discrimination?

If Obama can be elected president, can we really say that blacks are at that much of a disadvantage?

He's still half black, isn't he? Doesn't that count?

People want to know why racism will never go away....it's easy....race is always brought up.
Posted by enjoylife63 at 2:18 AM : Apr 29, 2009

Individuals like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton keep the racial divisions alive.

That and the white firemen who got their promotions thrown out because not enough blacks passed the same test. Did the Supreme Court ever reach a decision on that one?
