you forgot option g ... which reads as follows: 'it doesn't matter because i as a republican didn't open my big mouth from 2001 thru 2007 when we were spending like drunken sailors ... so why do i care now?' - Reply to this comment

By long ago, you mean 2 months ago? Sorry, but it takes longer than that to tank most of the worlds economies. Even AIG can't burn through money that fast. I would say it took 15 years to get us into this mess. Your attempt to lay it on Obama is indicative of the well known saying:
"Republicans hate democrats more than they love their country."

gather up all the top economists in the world ... count up all the nobel awards ... pose your question to the group ... and 'they' wont be able to explain it to you ... or they will each explain it a different way. - Reply to this comment

- TruePirate09, great!. :: You admit to being an unreasonable gaffe. "True or False"? What are you in 5th grade?
You had your disaster of a President, now why don't you sit back and watch a true administrator run the country who will make things work rather then start unjustified wars because he was bored with playing golf. - Reply to this comment
- Little Timmy needs to be sent home. This situation is much to complicated and difficult for him to handle. The American public has no faith in his abilities. Obama needs to become his own man and start running the show. Pelosi, Frank, Geithner, Reed , and the rest of the Democrats and Republicans will hang him if he does not.

- TruePirate09: I'm sorry its a surprise to you that during the Bush years this country had a house of cards economy, a bubble economy. Now that its popping, you're using that as an excuse to engage in party politics. Fine. Its not like you people have any credibility left, after Bush, anyway. Read about Bush's bubble economy, after the fact:

- There were people who predicted this downturn. Listen to what Peter Schiff was saying in 2006. This country was in a massive bubble, and this is what happens when bubbles pop:

Its Obama's fault? This economy was in a train wreck since 2007. That's what happens when bubbles pop. - Reply to this comment
- Real change that I could be live in would require:
Geithner and all other legacy Goldman Sak's players in Obama's Administration to be fired now....
Goldman needs to return the money's they received from the AIG bailout billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars were funneled through AIG to Goldman Sachs -- one of Wall Street's most politically connected firms .... and the FBI called in
Banc of America must repay the Merrill executive 2.4 Million in bonuses paid by tax payers
Jail ............. Cassano and the all that belonged to the Morgan Mafia
Restore the Glass-Steagall Act NOW
Gut ....... the Commodity Modernization Act and begin to regulate credit swaps
and if anyones house should be picked it should be former Senator Phil Gramm's
all campaign fiance dollars from AIG, ML, Goldman, Banc of America be donated to a defecit reduction fund - Reply to this comment
- Very sad to see this forum turn into this. ...People making totally unjustified comments. Saying that the Obama Administration caused this problem is so absolutely rediculous. It is only warranted to address here because those who have such unwarranted claims have ruined this forum for every thinking person. Very sad.

- It amazes me how many people can't figure out that if unemployment was almost non-existent, our economic problems would be too. If everyone had decent jobs, they would have made all their payments, regardless of the greedy, stupid banker's terms. Throwing bailout money at banks also will not help our current situation fast enough. Unfortunately, loaning money to manufacturers in the USA, to increase production of useful goods which will immediately create jobs, is not a "cool" enough thing to do so it hasn't been considered. Patriotic Capitalism puts the country, corporations and citizens all on the same team to help each other survive. Crappy trading balances, greedy corporations and unions, plus citizens that keep putting each other out of work by purchasing too many foreign goods; all share the blame for getting us here. The bank collapse is just a giant symptom of the cancer that is the real cause: JOB LOSSES.

- This LOSER of a President has been a FAILURE from Day One! The "craziness" continues with this "stupid" idea of "seizing" all the financial institutions that they determine that will fail? Failure until the Big Bad Government own all that once was "private sector" economy?
