- Wow! What is Cheney smoking? Talk about being out of touch with reality. Apparently the incompetence in the Bush administration includes the former VP.

- For an exited VP to be trash-talking the sitting president so soon after leaving office is unprecedented ugliness.
But why stop the Permanent Campaign now.... D!ck..... - Reply to this comment

- So, let's say that the situation were reversed, that the US economy was at an all-time high. Does anyone think that Mr. Cheney would be attributing its success to the global economy? Not in your life. The man (if we can apply the term to him) is a coward and an apologist, and we would all be better off relegating him to where he belongs - in history's trashbin.

- It's long past time for Nobama to stop pointing fingers and take the responsibility that he asked for when he ran for president. His continued--it's all Bushes fault-- got old while he was campaigning. His continued use of it makes me sick!

I hope you were complaining as strongly through the past eight years of trickle-down, deregulated incompetence. That, along with the same-minded greed that gave us the latest AIG bonuses, is what contributed greatly to this mess. Give the new guy a bit more than two months to sort it out. - Reply to this comment
- thgdriver: You're really uptight. I would recommend you either take some kind of prescription drug, like Xanax, or quit listening to Rush.

Holy crudd, BHO caused this recession while he was still campaigning?
Of course not, but since when did the neo-conned ever stop to think anything out when they have that jerking knee.... - Reply to this comment
- Have any of you who are trash-talking Mr Cheney ever looked into the eyes of someone who is trying to kill you for no other reason than that you are an American, or that you don't share their religion? ...their administration took the battle to our enemies.

First, thank you very much for your service to our country. If we had actually taken the battle to our enemies, perhaps we would have completed our mission by now. But we attacked a country with no role in 9/11 and annihilated 100,000 of their civilians. I don't see how that puts us on higher ground than those who attacked us and killed fewer than 3,000. Cheney promoted torturing individuals based on nationality and religious profiling. Again, no better than anyone hating us in kind. I think the primary reason they hate us is that we have continually meddled in their affairs. - Reply to this comment

- Please Cheney go away!! There's only one thing worse than a person that causes a mess...it is one that won't admit it. That was the trouble with their entire administration, whether it was the financial mess or Iraq, they always found someone else to blame. Not this time!! We know better. So nice try!!

- The mild recession that was happening when dickenbush came into office wasn't his fault, kind of obvious. But we were recovering from that by 9/11/01.
So the depression-like economy dickenbush left wasn't dickenbush's fault?
Tell me where the buck stops, again..... - Reply to this comment

Are you talking about Cheney's friends?
He shots them with shotguns. . . . in the face. Nice. Real nice. - Reply to this comment
- Dickey Dear -- You're just like Sarah Palin. You don't seem to want to get out of the limelight. Tell you what, why don't you move to Alaska and you and Sarah can hold weekly press conferences and all the press agencies who give a shiite can come up and cover them. How's that? Otherwise, would you (and her) please just shut up and go away!

- Of course Cheney would say that!! Well who should we blame it on? Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny? If it is not your fault whose is it?

- Anybody who thinks we have anything that resembles a liberal media needs to think again. From the hands-off coverage of the build up to a war for profit to the current never ending forum that exists for Cheney and Crew to continue spewing disinformation at will without the slightest hint of journalistic duty, the media has proved again and again that true journalism in this country is a dying profession. Fox may present unabashedly conservative points of view, but at least everyone knows that's it's really not fair and balanced, objective coverage. CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN -- you're pathetic.

- The president, the vice president, the fed chairman, the entire SEC, the congress and pretty much everyone else in charge knew the banks were lending 35 times as much money as they actually had. There's lots of blame to go around, and Cheney is not innocent.

- Have any of you who are trash-talking Mr Cheney ever looked into the eyes of someone who is trying to kill you for no other reason than that you are an American, or that you don't share their religion? Have you ever visited a Muslim controlled country? Do you know anything about these people who would kill you and your family (with a dull knife) without hesitation given just half a chance? Join-up and come spend some time with me. I've got some things I'd like to show you, 'cause right now you don't have a clue what the real world is like. While Mr Bush and Mr Cheney were not perfect , their administration took the battle to our enemies. Going on the offensive was the only effective defense against the type of attacks we have suffered at the hands of Islamic extremists. Now our enemy's leaders are on the run, and our families, (and you) have been safe back home since 9/11. Mr. Clinton didn't do that. We'll see if Mr Obama is smart and brave enough to do it. Give some credit to Mr Cheney. He knew what had to be done to protect your right to talk smack and had the courage to see it got done. America, home of the free to talk junk, because of the brave.

- [While discussing the question of fault, Cheney suggested that Democrats on Capitol Hill had tried to block his administration's efforts to reform Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.]
hey dick ... maybe the memory is fading ... did you miss these:

Bush seeks to increase minority homeownership
By Thomas A. Fogarty, USA TODAY
In a bid to boost minority homeownership, President Bush will ask Congress for authority to eliminate the down-payment requirement for Federal Housing Administration loans.
In announcing the plan Monday at a home builders show in Las Vegas, Federal Housing Commissioner John Weicher called the proposal the "most significant FHA initiative in more than a decade." It would lead to 150,000 first-time owners annually, he said.
Nothing-down options are available on the private mortgage market, but, in general, they require the borrower to have pristine credit. Bush''s proposed change would extend the nothing-down option to borrowers with blemished credit.
heres' another one dick:
President Bush, speaking on June 18, 2002, 10:30 A.M. EDT:
We are here in Washington, D.C. to address problems. So I''''''''ve set this goal for the country. We want 5.5 million more homeowners by 2010 -- million more minority homeowners by 2010. And so I''''''''ve asked Congress to fully fund an American Dream down payment fund which will help a low-income family to qualify to buy, to buy.
It is essential that we make it easier for people to buy a home, not harder.
Finally, we want to make sure the Section 8 homeownership program is fully implemented. This is a program that provides vouchers for first-time home buyers which they can use for down payments and/or mortgage payments. And I''''''''m proud to report that Fannie Mae has heard the call and, as I understand, it''''''''s about $440 billion over a period of time. They''''''''ve used their influence to create that much capital available for the type of home buyer we''''''''re talking about here. It''''''''s in their charter; it now needs to be implemented. Freddie Mac is interested in helping. I appreciate both of those agencies providing the underpinnings of good capital. - Reply to this comment
