- Why not force insurance companies to come up with heath insurance coverage that people can actually afford then the government wouldn't need another 600 billion dollars.

Because you are asking the "insurance companies" to actually become fiscally responsible, and that might cut into the millions and millions of dollars paid as bonus' every year to their top executives!
The so-called HMO's that are prevalent today were heralded in the 1980's to be the best way to contain costs, and help keep our premiums low. What a joke! All that it has accomplished is to take away the decision making of your health care from you and your doctor, and transferred that decision making to the insurance companies who can now decide whether you live or die....whether you get the treatment that you desperately need or you don't!

- I hoped the prez had some good advisors but obviously not. One of the areas that hasn't seen a reduction in employment numbers was healthcare. Hospitals and providers will do the same thing they did when Regan cut back on reimbursements, they will cut back on staffing. This CHANGE YOU CAN COUNT ON is looking better and better.

They tried that with homeowner's insurance.
Insurance companies just stopped selling homeowner's insurance. For a while, you just couldn't get a homeowner's policy.
