It''s about time. All that happened because of these convictions is that boarder guards were afaid to do their job. I dont care that they shot a drug dealer in the azz, he deserved it. From what I read in the news, drug cartels are killing people in the streets just over the US/Mexico boarder. The two years they served is too long and the loss of their jobs is unjust. They probably wouldnt work at that job again anyway, I wouldnt. If I had it my way, the I''d Build the Great Wall of China between our countries, that goes for Canada too. Now, get in illegally!!!

The Great Emperor Bush II has granted commutations to 2 former USSA border guards who shot a supposed Mexican drug dealer in the "arse" then tried to cover the whole thing up, thus proclaiming in effect, that it is "open season" on any Mexicans supposedly dealing drugs!

It is also expected that these commutations will be the last acts of clemency handed out by the Great Emperor Bush II which means that convicted felon Ted Stevens, and Larry "the Devil made me do it" Craig could be looking at serious jail time!

There also appears to be nothing in the works for protecting such infamous personalities of the Great Emperor''s former court as Karl Rove, VP Darth Vader Cheney, Josh Bolten, Donald "Rummy" Rumsfeld, and the most famous of all, Alberto "The Great Gonzo" Gonzales!

Too bad, for them!!!

SIG HEIL, I''M THROWING EVERYBODY ''UNDER THE BUS''!!!, BUSH!!!

"In exchange for his testimony against the two agents, Davila was granted immunity from prosecution by the U.S. government for attempting to smuggle nearly 750 pounds of marijuana, which had a street value of more than $1 million, into the United States on the day he was shot. He was treated in a U.S. hospital and is now suing the federal government for $5 million, Poe said."

The "Mexican"(read "illegal") drug smuggler was granted Immunity? While 2 U.S. border patrol agents were convicted? Davila(Illegal Mexican on U.S. soil)is suing the U.S. for $5 million? Where is the justice for the U.S. citizens who were doing their job? Why is this "Illegal Mexican" being allowed to file a lawsuit aaginst the U.S.?

I did not know they tried to cover up the shootings. So now I have to ask: Why?

=================

The Prison Guards and Police are always under the microscope for any and all wrong doing.

The Criminal, on the other hand, is way more protected by the law.

Our system is so broken that the President needed to pardon 189 people with 11 commutations. That says it all.

Posted by presjfk at 01:35 PM : Jan 19, 2009

A lot less than Clinton did

Which is how Bush conducted everything... with less than needed.

They both should have been pardoned and had their jobs back with back pay. They did their jobs and for that spent 2 years in prison. Bush not only allowed this he supported it. I hope Obama will issue pardons for both of them.

The commutations of Ramos and Compean is right and just. They did break the laws they were sworn to protect but they also, up to that point, had peformed honorably and well. This is the best possible course of action.
