TexHilskank I see you are still shooting your mouth off about things you know NOTHING about. IPS is a public policy institute run out of Johns Hopkins U. Must be nice to have somewhere you can display your ignorance anonymously.

Hate to tell you this Peace but the don''''t ask don''''t tell policy in gay people in the military was active and in full force when I was in in 1983 so don''''t ry to make it look like Clinton did something evil that caused problems there.

Sorry demswin08 but "Don''t Ask, Don''t Tell" was not around during the 80''s. As a matter of fact I sat on a Court Martial Board on a case concerning this matter. According to the CNN, the policy was adopted in 1993 under Bill Clinton.
"WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A House panel weighed overturning the military''s "don''t ask, don''t tell" policy Wednesday, the first time Congress has considered the rule since it was implemented 15 years ago.

The policy, adopted in 1993, allows gay and lesbian individuals to serve in the armed forces as long as they do not publicly engage in homosexual behavior. The law also prevents military leaders from asking a service member about his or her sexual orientation."

demswin08, I was also serving 82-86 and remember it differently...you could get away with serving and being gay but you had to keep a very low profile and it wasn''t don''t ask don''t tell because the CO could investigate and go after someone if they chose to, whether or not there was any ''telling.'' It happened a lot in the combat units, less so in the MI units (tended to be more educated and more tolerant). Clinton''s don''t ask don''t tell was definitely a change implemented in 1990s. I was with Defense Dept at that time and it caused a huge uproar.

O.P.E.C. is a hostile oil cartel. The Organization should be a subject. William Clinton accepted vast amounts of Saudi money. A real security threat would come from the Middle East.
