How''''s that supreme court case going?

Posted by nanc12 at 11:06 PM : Jan 09, 2009

No comment from the court today. In the past the court has announced cases not listed as denied on Monday -- no guarantee but it is a pattern. The next scheduled conference to decide whether to hear a case is Jan 23rd according to the calendar (3 days after the Inauguration).

7 years without an attack on American soil.

The grading on Obama starts on January 20th. I hope he succeeds.

His beliefs are admirable but results are what counts.

I don''''t hate these people, they HATE us, you bunch of peace lovers. We need to do whatever it takes to rid the world of these mindless maniacs. and I don''''t defend the bush administration. but I approve of what they''''ve done, our enemy isn''''t rebuilding, they''''re running for there lives!! If Obama talks peace, they will use that time to plan more attacks on our people.

Okay, I give up. Just another ignorant grunt who knows nothing about intel (what its for, how to get it). Torture is nothing more than a means for inflicting pain on people you hate. So glad you are in a combat arms field so you can fulfill all your fantasies. Do me a favor though and stay out of the discussion on what''s good for the intel community since you have no idea what you are talking about.

panetta doesn''t strike me as a wise man, he just seems like a party man, will do whatever the president says. Do we really need a guy like that running the CIA? I would rather have an independant thinker in there.

Panetta is a horrible choice, but because the dems control congress he''ll just fly by in his confirmation hearings. He''s a political appointee only. He''s going to go on a witch hunt for the sole purpose of embarrassing bush/cheney and whoever else they don''t like. and while he''s doing that Al qaida will attack us somewhere.

I''''m sure that torture has and is involved in all the things you mention, especially the Missile strikes, we send special across the border, pick up a few of these terrorist dogs and torture the he**ll out of ''''em and they give us info on where to send those missiles.I never said Clinton had any info, he was too worried about his Dikk to make any decision on the info surrounding 9-11. It is not for the limited in intelligence. it is a useful military tool. Grow up!

What is it with you fascist and your defense of the Party and the Fuhrer! SEVEN YEARS it''s been and WHERE are those who attacked us? HOW anyone with a brain can look at what has happened, how those who attacked us have completely rebuilt and are posing as big a threat to us NOW as they were on 9/12/01 and think we are safer or that those who are leaving did ANYTHING to bring about a safer Country is beyond me. I''ll say this, as a Sgt in the Marine Corps IF I had reported THAT to my commander I''d be washing pots on Mess Duty the next day.

What I don''t get is these fascist! They sit back and cheer as George W. Bush appoints the most INCOMPETENT losers ever and say NOTHING! Obama comes along and appoints people who unlike those they are replacing KNOW where the building the work in is located and these freaks are up in arms! ME thinks something OTHER than the well being of the nation is at work with them. ROFLMAO This man is going to do fine and HE is not going to allow THIS President to fall asleep at the wheel and you can bet the farm that IF we are attacked Obama will NOT spend the first 7 minutes reading My Pet Goat!!

Hmmm...

Leon Panetta has a very positive record as a former member of the U.S House of Representatives, Director of the United States Office of Management and Budget; and, as Chief of Staff to President Clinton.

By the way, he has at least some previous, responsible, "intelligence community experience" while serving with the U.S. Army; and, the White House Chief of Staff is certainly part of the %u201Cintelligence community.%u201D

Most important, however, Leon Panetta was the main person responsible for balancing the budget. Also, as Chief of Staff, he made day to day White House operations work more smoothly, through better management.

Leon Panetta%u2019s reputation and credentials are flawless. Plus, he is a very good person!

He has an excellent record of cutting costs and doing an outstanding job at whatever the task.

Although he is an ''''outsider'''' in the intelligence community, Leon Panetta does not carry past CIA baggage.

Therefore, he is an excellent choice to MANAGE the activities of the CIA.

What''''s wrong with torturing a bunch of terrorists that just killed your sons and daughters. NO MERCY. Do whatever it takes to get rid of these maniacs. If you be nice to them they will rape and kill your mother in return. These people are NOT human. they are Religious maniacs with no remorse or feelings for anyone. Don''''t you get it??!!

Ok, now I get it: you''re a ***. You want to torture them because you hate them. Well, that makes you a sick SOB but says nothing about the intel derived from torture which is notoriously unreliable. So how about we go about getting GOOD intelligence through valid interrogation methodology (torture is NOT what they teach at Ft. Huachuca and for good reason) and actually get some info that might save lives as opposed to taking out our sadistic fantasies on people. (You pull wings off flies too don''t you?)

ROWDY aka TexHillGirl,

Where is the announcement from the Supreme Court?

Where is the announcement that the Inaguration is on hold until the Berg case is heard?

Where is the announcement that Obama cannot serve as President?

Today is the 9th, where is it?

Torture is one of the BEST ways to gather intelligence. It has worked very well the last 7 years. The U.S. Has used it in the past, when and only when it is absolutely necessary. and with these terrorist dogs it IS necessary.

All of that info that YOU SAY Clinton had about 9/11...did we get any of it through torture.
Those drones that are picking off Al-Quaida leaders in Pakistan right now. Is that the result of torture?
Torture is the tactic of the limited of intellect.

Torture is not about our enemies and what they have done.
Torture is about who we are.
You see, you have to ask yourself. What is torture about? Is it about inflicting pain and satisfying a drive for vengeance? Or is it about gathering intelligence?
If it''s about gathering intelligence, then there are better ways to do that.
If it''s about inflicting pain and getting vengeance. Then you are lost.
