[And when asked, thought Sarah Palin said she could see Russia from her house...when it was Tina Fey that said it.]
[Posted by TexHillGirl at 03:15 PM : Jan 06, 2009]

where do you suppose tina fey got that from ... seeing that she was mimicking the mannerisms, behaviours, and statements made by palin?

texhillgirl-honey, this is about YOUR party, YOUR party.
Bringing up Palin and McCain shows just how bad things are with you people.
YOUR leaders are banning a BLACK MAN from his duly appointed position. Sorta like wallace in the late 50''s.
Just because YOUR party can''t get rid of a Chicago thug, in this instance I am referring to blago not the chosen one, take your licks.
And, is biden still watching the taping of FDR addressing the American people on TV in 1929??? Did the chosen one really campaign in ALL 50 states??
Get over it.

[Add in a third factor - Palin the Queen of Idiots - and I''''d agree with you.]

you don''t need to agree ... you have the freedom and right to be wrong.

I voted for Obama, but as long as Pelosi and Reed are ruining things in Congress, we will get absolutely no change. They are the worst congressional leaders in history.

[Replace "these voters" with "that idiot Palin", and I''''d agree with you.]
[Posted by slownewsdaze at 02:57 PM : Jan 06, 2009]

there are many factors involved ... palin was clearly one. her not being on the ticket may have made that difference.

the sudden (and suspicious) record rise in the price of oil ... along with a very timely crash of the economy are also factors that helped the democrats win. change these two issues ... and mccain would have likely won.

This guy should have known better than to accept this tainted appointment.

[Actually, it was seven, right? So you may have a point. But if Palin ran, she''''d never make it through the primaries, and if she did she''''d only serve to guarantee another Democratic victory, just as she did this time.]
[Posted by slownewsdaze at 02:51 PM : Jan 06, 2009]

the democratic victory in 2008 was much tighter than many people believe. if you look at the swing state polls broken down by age group you''ll see that the repbulicans won in almost all cases with the exception of the youngest age group (18 - 25). in nearly all these cases obama took the state. if not for these voters ... mccain would have won the 2008 presidential election.

[Doesn''''t really matter in the grand scheme of things as long as it kept that idiot Palin out of Washington. And now that she pals around with druggies, she''''ll never have another chance.]

never say never. and in politics ... a week is a lifetime.

i would not bet against her rise in the republican party in the future. alaskans re-elected ted stevens after he had been convicted. granted the conviction was a bit petty ... but it was a felony conviction nonetheless.

Did Hillary refuse to be the running mate. I thought she wanted it.

Posted by ormondbeach1 at 02:38 PM : Jan 06, 2009

Oh, she wanted it. But nobody was giving it to her good enough.

Suits me fine. I didn''t like her but lot of people did and I think it is a mistake to throw her under the bus. They are still very popular with a lot of people. She may be the one that takes Obama down.

This one is squarely the fault of the Democrats. A Democratically-controlled Senate refuses to seat the Democrat appointed by a man twice nominated by the Democrats and twice elected Governor of Illinois with the majority of his votes coming from Democrats. Democrats do not believe in any rule by law, but instead listen to the talk shows and news media and buy into the ridiculous notion that the appointment is somehow "tainted." Blagojevich is still Illinois Governor (in part because the Democrats have made it hard to remove him) and has the legal right to appoint the junior Senator from the state. Burris the former Attorney General of the State for Pete''s sake. There is no legimate reason for failing to seat him.

Stupid, stupid....
I am a lifelong democrat and I cannot believe they allowed, even created, this distracting circus. They could have easily just seated Burris saying legally they really had no choice while still villifying Blago. Instead they have taken away from what should be a glorious day for us dems who fought for the party over these last dark 8 years.
My party really blew it, maybe I should get prepared for 2010 and not be shocked when the proven incompetent and hateful republicans gain 10 seats.

So, why is no one holding Jessie White''s feet to the fire to find out on what legal grounds he is withholding his signature from the documents to certify Burris?

What druggies are you talking about? I think you just like to make things up to hurt people. The truth is you have a underlying feeling that Palin will be back in four years and be elected. I really think he is very popular. Most everyone I hear talk love her and the only ones I hear that don''t like her are you liberals and history says you are around just one term anyway.

I am absolutely shocked about the Senate not seating Mr. Burris. The governor of Illinois has not been indicted yet and he still has his constitutional powers. From what I have read, Mr. Burris is qualified for the job. Why is anyone making this a racial issue, remember Obama is dark-skinned also.
Seat Mr. Burris and Congress of the United States, stop embarrasing the American people. Instead of this fiasco for the media, why didn''t you fools in Congress stop Bush, the 800 billion dollars spent in Iraq would have paid for this ridiculous bailout. As an American citizen, it didn''t take a rocket scientist to see this economic MESS coming.

If Burris was any type of man, he would have say thanks but no thanks from Blovey! This just keeps Illinois in the laughing news!

Debbie, I''m 78 years old and Illinois has been the laughing stock news all my life. When I was a kid it was Capone, Dillinger etc and been full of crooks since. Just a state full of evil. Don''t blame it on Republicans because they don''t have any there. Also I was there one time on a business trip (before retirement) and it is the dirtiest town I have ever been to and I have been about everywhere. When we landed there we were met by people and carried to our hotel and were warned to stay off the streets. I felt uneasy all the time I was there. Maybe people there get used to it but for people living in good neighborhoods, it is bad.
