The CIA does not like outsiders coming into their club.

Correct, which is exactly why Panetta is a good choice. He''s not stupid and he had been around intelligence as White House Chief of Staff. The CIA needs a good house-cleaning and they need someone who is not completely inbred to do it.

I''''ll let you in on a little secret -- The "supposed meltdown" started occuring during the Clinton administration in what Congress calls "The Community Reinvestment Act". Where risky loans were guaranteed to families that could not afford them.

Please look that up. So, during the Clinton administration, and, in the order of "Fairness" that you dummy liberals keep crying about, bad business practices were guaranteed by the justice dept and Janet Reno.

That''''s pretty much what started the ball rolling.....and in 2006, it was recognized, then warned against. The liberals blocked all legislation on regulating the business industry conglomerates....

It''s all out in the open.

Community Reinvestment Act had nothing to do with subprime crisis

Posted by: Aaron Pressman on September 29, 2008

Fresh off the false and politicized attack on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, today we''re hearing the know-nothings blame the subprime crisis on the Community Reinvestment Act %u2014 a 30-year-old law that was actually weakened by the Bush administration just as the worst lending wave began. This is even more ridiculous than blaming Freddie and Fannie.

Our last "experienced" DCI wiled away his days babbling about "slam dunks" and pushing a war based on failed intelligence his own agency was responsible for generating. With that being said, it is hard to believe that someone outside the CIA would be a bad choice.

Panetta is doomed to failure. Those long term employees in the CIA love to play games with administrators who are inexperienced and are nothing but political hacks. They will set up Panetta to say or do something stupid and embarrassing. Panetta will not know what is going on until after the fact and everyone in the CIA will have a big laugh. Also, Panetta will be quickly put in his place and forced to realize who has the power in the CIA. It is not Panetta. He should never have been appointed to this job but he should have been smart enough to decline the offer from Obama. The CIA does not like outsiders coming into their club.

Actually "SPARKY", you liberals have been in charge for the last couple of years. And, I might add, were warned about shady regulation in 2006 by John McCain and 19 other senators that if you didnt Regulate the banking industry NOW, there would be hell to pay.

Your boy Barny Frank and other dummy democrats ignored that warning and never even discussed it on the floor.

Do you know why? Because your boys Frank, Dodd, and others were too busy stuffing their pockets with perks and cash offered from the same industry''''s that needed to be regulated -- starting with Fannie and Freddie....

So let''s see here! The fascist had complete and total control of ALL oversight of ALL banking for 6 long years, did NOTHING but deregulated MORE, provided NO oversight what so ever and ENCOURAGED Banks to lend as they did and YOU want people to just forget all that and blame the Democrats because there MAY have been some warning about two mortgage lenders? Now folks THAT is fascism at it''s best. The "Party" removes ALL regulations that, all agree, would have prevented the meltdown. THEY then use that for champaign propaganda to get themselves elected and we should blame the other guys!! ROFLMAO Man YOU need to put away that Swastika or Confederate Flag Pin, it''s really hurting your ability to THINK! ROFLMAO Sieg Heil

Because in this country, our Republican leaders have not put you up in front of a firing squad for your beliefs. So, that is to say that your description of Facism and how it equates to the Republican Party is as far out as you believing that George Bush took down the Trade Centers towers on his own....

Of course, you probably believe that as well...which makes you a loon.

So lets see, IF you don''t put people in front of a firing squad instead of say, use our justice department for POLITICAL REASONS that means you aren''t fascist! 80% of the German People say our Republican Party is FASCIST but I''m a loon for raising this point! Right now the Republican Party could hold a convention in a phone booth in Wisconsin, German people, yet I''m a loon? MAYBE you should start caring MORE about the AMERICAN FLAG and less about the confederate flag pin you wear?? Sieg Heil Y''all.

Blab, blab, blab, Liberals, blab, blab... Sparky "Liberals" haven''''t been in charge, Liberals didn''''t take us from a BALANCED BUDGET and a SURPLUS to RECORD debt. Liberals didn''''t remove all the banking regulations that resulted in a total Economic Melt Down, that was YOU fascist. Now it would seem, after that MASSIVE FAILURE, you losers could at least come up with a new line. This old one just isn''''t working for you anymore! Now let''''s hear ya!! Sieg Heil Y''''all.

irmcvet971 - Don''''t try and lure me into your immature game pal. Your lack of intelligence doesn''''t justify an educated response, you would just gain some more much needed knowledge. And you should quit pretending to be a veteran. IF you were a vet, you either spent your time on your couch calling shots from the sidelines, or you ran to Canada. Sounds like both to me. Either way you sound more like a traitor to me than anything else!

Yep you have the same problem all Present day Republican''s have. THERE is NO defense and that''s probably why you are NOW a regional party. You see fascism only works IF you are able to stop debate. You freaks and your "blame the liberals" attacks tried but unfortunately you FAILED. Sieg Heil Y''all.

Excellent post Ranger. At any rate, this article should not surprise anyone. Pinetta is a liberal, who has now been nominated by another liberal to head the CIA.

Liberals do not need experience to run the country. Wow! What a sham the liberals are...

I was born in Germany. My Grandfather served in the German forces in WWII and my Great Grandfather in WWI with them. Don''''t educate me on what Germans say and think. One professor?: George Will, PhD.

It looks to me like Obama is just picking recognizable names from a list. The qualification for any of his appointments has been face time on TV ! Which makes sense coming from someone who loves being on TV. This is really getting scary...

OFTENCENSORD -- It HAS been scary every since the beginning of last year.

I often wonder why liberals defend a person(s) to run the most critical posts this country has to offer without any experience whatsoever.

That''s like saying that if you''re a manager of a machine shop for instance, and you have two candidates for a position in your company. One has experience with heavy machines, and the other has been working as a fisherman all his life, and you hire the fisherman....

The liberal mindset amazes me....

It''''s not that I don''''t like you (I don''''t). But, it''''s just humorous that you want to educate someone on debating when nearly all your arguments center on Fascism, swastikas, and saying Seig Heil and LOL. It''''s just that you''''re a moron and an uninformed baffoon. Because of your Marine Corps background you use bullying and personal insults to prove your point. I wish I could smash books against your head and have osmosis educate you...but alas I can''''t. Sieg heil Jarhead.

I''m still waiting!! You said I didn''t know the meaning of the word "Fascist", which implies that YOU do. I asked you to point out where in the Law used by the German People to define FASCISM that you and your "Party" do not fit. I''m still waiting for an answer!

Typical fascist... attack the messenger and NEVER address the message! ROFLMAO Let me help you out here Swastika Breath. In a poll done LAST year the GERMAN People by over 80% found that George W. Bush and the PRESENT day Republican Party ARE FASCIST! IF you listened to real news you''d know this. Now I ask you WHO on planet EARTH would know MORE about a fascist than a citizen of GERMANY! I''ll go you one better. I defy you to find ONE independent Professor of Political Science who does NOT agree that the PRESENT Leadership of the Republican Party is NOT at least leaning toward FASCISM! Now stand... be PROUD of who you are!! SIEG HEIL Y''all.

panetta not qualified and should do the honorable thing and decline the job. panetta is as qualified to be cia director as palin was to be potus. obama is losing it and now many are wondering if he is qualified to be potus. warm up the impeachment process just in case. obama making some silly staffing decisions, cabinet decisions. this one puts the nation''s security in deep jeopardy. everyone best starting reading the koran because the nation''s enemies will get past panetta like a hot knife through melting butter.
