Roland Burris Asks Court To Force Secretary Of State To Certify His Appointment To Senate
- The 71 year old Burris is senile and should continue taking his meds. Why would a person with such a distinguished past want a tainted position? Bobby Rush should shut up. I phoned and faxed proof of constitutional violations to him concerning police misconduct and he never responded. He is not as "black" as he appears.

- Keep one thing in mind, people - Blago has not been CONVICTED of any crime. What are heaped against him are mere allegations, and all this speculation and prejudgment is doing nothing but bolstering his defense when his day in court does come. He very wekll may walk free because of all the prejudicial treatment he has received from the ignorant Illinois legislature and the press, who have been hounding him about his ''inaction'' from day one.
And where does Bobby Rush, ugly former Black Panther chief during the 60''s, get off thinking that only a black man can fill Barack''s seat ? What planet did THAT whackass supposition come from ?!
This whole affair stinks of political maneuvering and chess playing, Chicago-style - and it''s NOTHING new to any of us here. - Reply to this comment
- This Burris can be a senator, as long as he is not elected by Blago, period. I''m sure that Burris can be a fine senator, but Blago cannot manipulate his way out of his own mess.

I agree 100%. If Burris is to be, he will be selected anyway, without Blagojevich! The fact that Roland Burris is even participating in this looks desperate and shows a lack of Class. Burris''s participation in this is validating Blagojevich at a time when everyone is rejecting him! The "its all about me crowd has no shame!", birds of a feather flock together ... - Reply to this comment
- Uhhhh...
Another news source mentioned that Mr. Burris has been busy building his own masoleum - complete with carved in granite inscriptions detailing his many accomplishments... !!
Is it just me, or is this a little on the whacky side?
Does this type of vanity fit right in with the thinking of the regular folks of IL; or, is this some form of abberation?

- If a governor isn''t innocent until proven guilty, all of are screwed.
You better stand up for each others rights or nobody will be there to stand for yours. - Reply to this comment
- The only reason the government went after Gov. Rod Blagojevich is because he made the state of Illinois stop doing business with Bank of America. He was arrested right after holding a press conference demanding the state boycott BOA over the employess at the window factory didn''t get the pay they were entitled to and the money was held at BOA for the factory owners.
The jews on wall street much power and now they are ripping us all off and wiping out any politician that stands up to them. It is like Germany in 1940 all over again only this time they are *** the US.
When we overthrow them, that will be the end of Israel. - Reply to this comment
- Why is Burris fighting to get the seat? He had to know after everything that has happened that there would be problems. Or did he actually pay for the seat and now expects to get it even after everything hit the fan.

- As far as I know, you''re still innocent until proven guilty in this country. Like it or not, Blago is still the governor and can do the things a governor does because there''s no law to stop him from doing it, nor should there be. To be convicted by corporate media formed public opinion before you go to court is not the American way... you don''t have to kiss the guy, but at least give him his day in court before you take your pound of flesh. These media fueled feeding frenzies are getting tiresome... so Bush-ist and smarmy like the last 8 years. We need to change that.

- The Republicans did MORE damage to the U.S. of A. than all the terrorists groups combined. Now it is up to Obama to save this country and perhaps the world. He needs ALL the help WE can give him.

What a stupid comment. I have faith in the people of this country to fix things not some cheap suit in Washington to fix things. It is Washington that caused most of this mess in the first place. Comments like this are why Osama Obama is called Messiah. Save the world? LOL..... - Reply to this comment

- Rep Danny Davis was asked by Gov Birdbrain to let his name be submitted for Senator but he has more smarts than Burris. I hope the Illinois Supreme Court doesn''t allow Rod to appoint anyone including Burris. Burris has never cared about anyone but himself, From what I read, it''s a wonder he did hurt himself, patting himself on the back. I don''t care what offices he held in Illinois, he was and is stupid to let his name be submitted by Rod. They are both jerks. What a mess we have here in Illinois. As soon as we can, we are moving out of Illinois.

- Roland Burris just a day or so before Gov Rod Birdbrain appointment Burris said how terrible Rod was. Now, just notice the grinning like a clown expression during the news conference. It''s a gottcha from Burris. How stupid the Democrats are in Illinois. What greedy, corrupt politicans we have. Now we expect the Press to cover all the money that Burris has given to Gov. Rods war-chest and all the lobbying that was done by Burris company and then given so many state jobs and handouts. There is more to this story than just the color of Burris skin. There is probably graft, greed and corruption. I hope the Democratic Causus closing the doors of the Senate and doesn''t let him in. He had to pay Rod something to get his name submitted, if not now, he will later. Richard Durbin and Barack Obama better get busy and not let Rod appoint anyone unless it is Jesus himself.
