- What a strange, warped system we now have - in effect the government 9taxpayer) loans money to banks for what now amounts to 0%, only to have the banks borrow out the money to the same taxpayers at rates from 8 to 30%. Why not just have the government borrow money to the people of the US at 5%? Why do we allow such paractices from the financial industry?...in the last 10 years there''''s a new bank springing up on every corner, yet we as a country continue to allow this usury that cripples our nation. as they say, everything in moderation, unfortunately our leaders have allowed the financial industry to run rampant and the deregulation of it has thrown our economy into the toilet.
