Yes, I was fooled, too. I thought the headline was referring to TED KENNEDY!!
But read more carefully - this news item is about Ted STEVENS. - Reply to this comment
- The same voters that vote for Sarah Palin were the same voters that almost voted Sen Steven in. What is wrong with Alaska, where are their ethics. Sarah is next to fall from grace. She spread a lot of hatred in her rallies and ridiculed Obama. So, what goes around definitely comes around. Hope not to see Sarah in 2012.

- Hmmm...
What goes around eventually comes around...KABAM!
The truly scary part to all of this is the brain dead and or reasoning impaired voters in AK who almost reelected old Uncle Ted. What in the hell is wrong with them?
It is astonishing to realize that he got more votes than just what he and his family members could muster. - Reply to this comment
- "More than anyone else, you have taught me the meaning of representing my state" - said fellow republican crook, Pete Domenici
What did Stevens do to "represent his state"? He suckered the federal government into giving them billions for a bridge to nowhere! He turned the state of Alaska into the USA''s first great socialist experiment, where the government owns the major business (oil) and divvy''s up the profits to the citizens! He accepted bribes from all comers!
Ted Stevens: An convicted felon, a Republican hero... is there any difference? - Reply to this comment
- The only thing he did wrong was to get caught. They are all crooks. The trick is to not get caught.

- Let''s put this in perspective: After over 40 years in office, ONLY 25 Sentors and some friends showed up to hear his last speech.
That is pretty pathetic, and yet, somehow very telling. Vipers never support their own, once the fear of biting is over. - Reply to this comment
- We can be proud of having the best politicians money can buy-& see that there is honor among thieves.

- Stevens''''s departure played like a soap opera. Hardly a dry eye in the place. That tells us all we need to know about our senators. A standing ovation for a convicted felon? What''''s wrong with this america? Vote every one of these scum-sucking, greedy pigs out of office at the next available opportunity. This display of hero worship absolutely disgusts me. Stevens is but 1 down, 99 more to go!
I watched this in a state of disbelief also.....makes me wonder what kind of hero worship *** they''ll pull when Bush/Cheney go out the door.........UNBELIEVABLE! - Reply to this comment

- I saw the accolades on TV today and I was totally P---ed off. Reid talking favorably aobut this crook amounts to the leagalzed corruption society. What should have been done is locked the doors to the chambers and his box of *** on the Capitol steps and told him to get lost....All this guy did was bilk billions from the lower 48 to pay back cronies in a state that was fithy rich with oil money. That teary eyed bull *** was all for show and don''t think for one minute that he has ANY regrets. He has laughed all the way to the bank on someone else''s dime. Thank God and the Dogsled He''s Gone!

- You also have to wonder what exactly the judge who is supposed to sentence this *** is waiting for.
Is there some kind reason why a date for sentencing hasn''t been set, yet? And can you give me the same get out of sentencing card, as it would pertain to the equal protection and due process clauses of the Constitution?
Yes, I think I would like to have one of those cards, being a U.S. citizen just like Ted Stevens. In fact, I would like to DEMAND one of those cards, to use whenever I may so need it.
Aaah... the pungent stench of American freedom and justice for all. - Reply to this comment
- Did they take this typical Republi CON to jail straight from there? Where he can''t hurt himself or influence any other poor American sucker.

- He is but a swan song to a crumbling republican party. They have lost sight of the people.

- I had dear uncle Ted over to my house last night. He emptied my liquor cabinet and stole my silverware.

- OOOPs , I thought you were talking about Kennedy.
Too bad this guy, for all the good he may have done, will spend the rest of his life trying to stay out of prison.

What GOOD did this guy do? Ever?? He brought pork-barrel projects to his cr_appy little state and you applaud that?
And don''t even think of comparing him with Ted Kennedy, who has worked his entire life for people in need. - Reply to this comment
