Liberals claim to love free speech, but we will soon see attempts to halt talk radio. In addition,I would not be surprised if they try to silence Fox.

You mean like Bush and Rove tried to squelch the media?

Had the "media" not been so "kind" to Bush during his first term, he never would have been re-elected in ''04.

Had the media not been to kind to McSame, he never would have been the rethuglican candidate, and maybe, just maybe, the rethuglican party "might" have had a chance this time around.

But, I''m happy with the outcome, even if Obama wasn''t my first choice. Thank god for idiots like McSame & Paling, and the "swing" voters who saw them for what they really are.

And thank god for the media, freedom of speech, and freedom of the press. They are all part of the "checks and balances" that keep us a free society.

It''''s a perennial problem with democracies when many of the citizens are low-information types. They elect leaders just like themselves. And this is the great U.S.A., right?

So...how did a "C" average student like Bush, a guy who went AWOL from an "elite" Texas ANG unit, a guy who NEVER had to worry about going to Vietnam, a guy who mangled the English language, get voted into office...twice?

The answer is simple: Rethuglicans elect leader JUST like themselves. Greedy...

Go Mark Begich!!! WOOHOO!!

However, a lot still voted for Stevens. It says a LOT about Alaskans that so many would vote for a convicted felon to satisfy their partisan desires.

Pathetic.

And there goes Palin''s chances to run for President in 2012. She''ll fade into nothingness, and only have her $150,000 wardrobe to take with her.

It''s a shame though...her running would have all but assured Obama would be in the White House 8 years!

Oh, so you didn''t see those lawsuits Obslime-a filed against radio stations that talked about his OBVIOUS connection to domestic terrorist Ayers, and international terrorists like Khalidi, et al.

It''s amazing that half the state of Alaska would vote for a convicted felon. We''ve all seen the great show put on by their governor, Palin. I think we better return Alaska back to Russia... (Don''t know why. The ABC News doesn''t allow me to post this on their site.)

Your an idiot. It is obvious you listen to conservative talk radio, because that is all that piece of ch!t Hannity whines about. "Oh, they are going to silence me!!! Boo hoo!!!" If only it was true. The airwaves are owned not by the radio station but by the people. Which means, fool, that they must be balanced, not dominated by one idealogy or another. This means that the conservatives who own the radio stations, by hosting only one point of view, are violating their lease. Fairness doctrine just means balancing the point of views.
Now d!chhead Hannity wants you to think that doing this will shut him up (please God, let it be so) because the progressive times will not sell commercials. But what he does not say (he always leaves out alot, because he cannot let facts get into the way of his rhetoric) most progressive talk shows are making good money selling ads. People are listening because they talk truth. Try getting THAT from any conservative.

If Stevens, who thinks the internet is a series of tubes, and Palin, who thinks there are two Americas and Africa is a country, are the best that Alaska can come up with, I truly feel sorry for the residents of that state.

Of course, they are the ones who voted Stevens and Palin into office, so feeling sorry for them is probably not the right emotion. More likely we should worry about their mental health.

I guess when you are only able to count 1 ballot an hour it takes a long time to count 25000 votes!

Your not elitist or anything like that..you think ?

I''''m sure you know better because your friends who also know better agree that you know better like they know better

Again your lack of Reading skills is amazing! Let''s review what the poster said and I''ll use VERY small words. He''s responding to the post of another person, whom you obviously DIDN''T read. Anyway he''s defending Ms. Palin''s actions by saying she doesn''t see American as the two of them do. HOW may is ask is THAT "elitist"? Do you actually KNOW what the meaning of the word "elitist" is??

I have to ask, did they actually teach READING in your school? What the poster said was that FOX News was so IN THE TANK for the REICH that they were going to end up like those Paid Ad Networks. You for some reason accused him of wanting to stop Free Speech. You don''t think those folks on those Ad Channels have free speech? Then why the attack on the OTHER networks? What they are doing is providing those of us who do not wish to hear FOX an alternative... it''s called filling a Market NEED MORON! GOOD GRIEF why don''t you take a few night classes!

WHY HAS IT TAKEN ALASKA BOARD/GOVERNMENT SO LONG TO COUNT PEOPLES VOTES? HAVE THEY BEEN TRYING TO JIMMY THE BIGURES BEHIND THE DOORS?? AFTER NEARLY TWO WEEKS THEY ARE STILL COUNTING VOTES. THEY HAVE YET TO COUNT 25000 VOTES!!!!

I READ IN A WEBSITE THAT DESPITE THE FACTS:
1- THERE HAS BEEN MORE NEW REGISTERED VOTERS
2- MORE EARLY VOTIN
3- SARAH PALIN BING ON THE BALLOT
4- A HISTORIC BLACK DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE, OBAMA, ON THE BALLOT

THE VOTER TURN OUT HAS BEEN 11% LOWER THAN IT WAS 4 YEARS AGO. BUT AT LEAST AT THIS POINT DEMOCRATS HAVE WON THE PRESIDENCY AND PROBABLY WILL TAKE THE SENATE SEAT AS WELL.

It wasn''t even a nice house. The guy has no tact, no taste, no sense, and until the great backlash vote of 2008, had no fear. It''s time for him to go down that big internet tube.
