President-Elect Calls Former First Lady After Making Remark During First News Conference
- Obama need not apologize for anything. Bipartisanship?

- A complete mistake. After President-elect Obama said it he looked down slightly and I could almost hear his say, Oh - blank.
This one is a "gotcha" the Conservatives are using against Obama like the left-winger Chris Matthews used against the Congresswoman.
I''m a Conservative, Christian, Republican who voted for Senator McCain - this was nothing, and almost comical how the Drudge Report is using it. - Reply to this comment
- keystonebull....This is just an example of how it''s going to be for the next four years. You right wing trolls are going to make a federal case out of every move Obama makes. This was nothing but a joke that may or may have not been in bad taste but as soon as he realized that it may have been offensive to Mrs. Reagan he called her at once to apologize. And apparently she was not offended at all. As far as your claim of what a great president Reagan was you evidently are not a student of history. It was Reagan who started our slide into financial hell by de-regulating everything in sight and implementing his famous "trickle down" economics. Reagan was a very personable man but his political heritage is dismal. In addition, he was deeply involved in activities that were highly illegal. Had Oliver North not fallen on his sword, Reagan would have been in a world of trouble. So your analysis is faulty at best. But you continue to keep a sharp eye on the president and maybe you well catch him scratching his butt. What an outrage that would be.

I try not to put too much emphasis on the media, for it is indeed biased..I listen carefully to the candidate and form my own conclusions.....Obama talks a good game, but is brilliant at skirting the issue when one tries to pin him down....The proof will be in the pudding, so to speak....If he shows himself to be what I think he is, he will not last beyond a first term.... - Reply to this comment
- I chuckled when when hearing him say that. The reason? It was amusing and I recognized it for what it was - Harmless. Apparently, Nancy agreed. Posted by IrishWench at 11:14 AM : Nov 08, 2008

How else would a gracious lady with class react? Obama will ultimately show what he is made of, which is a whole lot of hot air, and very little substance. - Reply to this comment

Must have lost ten points after that ridiculous press conference yesterday.... - Reply to this comment
- Had any republican said the same thing, CBS, MSNBC, CNN, ABC, NYT would have been all over it. The great obama can insult a past first lady who has more class than the great one will ever have and all of you liberal media give him a pass. This is the first election where the press picked the canadate and then promoted him free of charge. The liberal media Suck.

So, follow the money. The liberal media makes its money from advertising. Who advertises? Big corporations. So, it looks to me like Big corporations are for Obama.
Even they realize that if the little people do not have any money we can not buy all their merchandise. - Reply to this comment
- Reagan is responsible for the present economic meltdown because of his stupid "trickle down" theory. I hope Obama is nothing like that B Actor and C President. As for Nancy, she was a "throwback wife" to times when women were not even to exercise their minds (seance anyone?) let alone speak up when their hubby''s made such stupid decisions. Michelle thinks, speaks and shares perspective with he spouse. Yes. there is a difference and it is time for fools like keystonebull---- to realize it is not 1950.

- Get over it, Barak. Focus on helping us clean up the mess left by 8+ years of Republican criminal incompetence.

- Well yes Obama is human after all. Even President-elect Obama can get nervous when talking to the press. He was trying to explain his remark that he did speak to all the other previous presidents, and being the detail person he is, he then clarified by saying "all the living presidents," and then realized that sounded funny, so he tried to clarify that....Just a normal human thing to do.

"In his book "The Choice," Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward described how Clinton consulted with a spiritual adviser who led her through imaginary conversations with her personal hero, Eleanor Roosevelt."
More hypocritical DOUBLE STANDARDS. When Nancy Reagan did it, she was called a "kook." When Hillary Clinton did EVEN MORE, she was a "feminist" or something.

Wait, didn''t I JUST POST THAT recently??? - Reply to this comment
- HEY, IT WAS MARY TODD LINCOLN THAT HELD SEANCES IN THE WHITEHOUSE NOT NANCY NOR HILLARY DOING ROLE PLAYING. MAYBE YOUR REPORTER AND MR. OBAMA SHOULD BOTH BRUSH UP ON AMERICAN HISTORY...YOU KNOW AMERICA THAT COUNTRY THAT SUPPOSE TO HAVE AN UNBIASED MEDIA, YOU KNOW, THE ONE WITH 57 STATES....
