As Congratulations Pour In, President-Elect Begins Process To Build Cabinet To Help Deal With Challenges At Home And Abroad
- Oh really? Doesn''''t say much about YOUR expectations, then.
I fully EXPECT him to live up to his promises, or get his butt out of there! And if he can''''t do that, then I will make every attempt to CRUCIFY him like you losers did to BUSH...by screeching out truth or lies like you did to the top of my voice!

And that''s your prerogative, but you can only be part of the consensus and not the entire consensus which is my point. BTW, I didn''t dislike Bush because he broke campaign promises, I disliked him because of an entire set of policies he perused and I would turn against Obama for following the same route. - Reply to this comment
- But he play on the same sentiments
Vote for Obama or your a raciest.
You idiots don%u2019t even care about Bill Ayers dedicating his book Prairie Fire to Sirhan Sirhan, the man who killed Robert Kennedy.

While the Obama campaign tirelessly tried to appeal to Republicans and Independents, blacks, whites, browns and all others, the McCain campaign actively promoted racism, bigotry and xenophoia. Everytime a McCain surrogate emphasized Obamas full name to inspire anti-muslim sentiment, it was rightfully viewed by many Americans as what it was, bigotry. When McCains VP mentioned on several occassions that Obama was ''not like you and me'' '' he is not like us'', it spoke to racism. Moreover, McCain forgot that voters are smarter these days, and smarter voters judged Obama on what HE HIMSELF HAS SAID and on what HE HIMSELF HAS DONE......so the guilt by association attacks concerning Ayers and the whole list of others the GOP exploited didnt work with most Americans...... - Reply to this comment
- People are more worried about the economy than the coming Al-QAEDA resumption of maybe suicide bombings in the US homeland. If Obama pulls out all the troops abroad the multinational islamic fanatics will stop going to Pakistan''s safe havens. They will follow our troops to our homeland and we will be the first line of defense and a lot of us will die.Start counting when the first attack begins since 9/11.We will see if Obama can protect our lives and homeland security. Russia ,after attacking and invading Georgia now is deploying nuclear missiles near Poland.Obama just wants to talk but can''t prevent Iran from having nuclear weapons. Good Luck people.

- They preach personal responsibility and "bootstraps" until their own fortunes turn south, then they are all on board for a taxpayer funded handout.

As a side note I heard on the WSJ radio program this morning that the yearly bonus in some of the investment houses will drop from an average $900k last year to a miserable $275k this year. The poor bastards_! - Reply to this comment
- My point was but you are too ignorant to see it is the rich republican facists think they are so mush better then 99% of the rest of the county that they cut themselves off from them.
But when the time comes that you need a cop or their house is on fire the low life they run away from and ostrisize all the sudden become valuable to them.

If you losers that put him in office don''''t even expect him to live up to his promises to YOU, how can you expect anybody else to?

We all have different reasons for electing a candidate and different measures of their success. It would be presumptuous (yes even for you Rowdy) to speak for the entire electorate. - Reply to this comment
- nSo your saying Bush is no better than Bin Laden and we can commit terroristic acts all in the name of fair play?...Remember we want to catch bin laden and try him for crimes against humanity.
Would it not be fair to try Bush also then.

I have enjoyed our discussion but now i have to signoff for work. I would like to say that we need to look to the future. We must learn from our mistakes in the past but we must not allow our future to only be filled with the regrets of the past. This election has proved that you can accomplish anything no matter how you were born into this world. We have to give our children Hope! We must also not forget the good things of the past. Families were stronger in the past. People helped their neighbors more in the past. The Bible is not our enemy! It says to love your neighbor as you love yourself. Those are words to live by. If we truly did that there would be no murder, theifery, racism, etc. Another thing that says is we don''t love ourselves. Self-respect must grow in this nation. If a person has self-respect they won''t put drugs in their body, they won''t abuse their children, they won''t wallow in self-pity they will work to change their circumstances. Self respect is something only you can do for yourself. Our children are our future. What are we teaching them.... - Reply to this comment
- I will support this new president 100% as I am a proud American, we have the greatest country on the planet! The only thing I would mention in regards to McCain is that he received 55 million votes which was more votes than was needed to elect the last four presidents. The left needs to recognize this fact. While it was wonderful that the minority paricipation was at an historically unprecented level calling conservative Americans racist would require turning a blind eye tothe true motivation of the minority turn out which would be hipocritical. Go Obama! Go America!

Nice post! I would like to see some bipartisanship as well, and I think there''s the opportunity for it from the likes of Chuck Hagel for example. The problem is I beleive that the Republican leadership (McConnell, Boehner) have shown themselves unwilling to give. Even accepting that 55M voted for McCain, there was still a 6% difference in the popular vote which is huge by modern standards and that means that many more voted for "not the same old stuff." If McConnell and Boehner throw themselves on their swords witht ehsole purpose of thwarting legislative iniatives through filibuster, then I fear bipartisanship will be impossible. Let''s hope they are better men than than that. - Reply to this comment

- blessed1959,
I agree with much of what you say, but there are still some fundamental issues and unfortunately many started after slavery. I wish it all ended with slavery. If it had, we probably wouldn''t have issues today.
For example, we would have had universal healthcare in 1948 already. Back then EVERYONE supported it except for southern politicians who were afraid it would mean desegregated hospitals. - Reply to this comment
- Mr. Obama: you got 3 years. That''''s it. If we don''''t see DRAMATIC improvement in 36 months, we''''ll be voting your lying bu*tt OUT.

Since the tone of your posts suggests that you didn''t vote for his "lying butt" to begin with, what makes you think that those of us that did vote for him are judging him by the your criteria and time line? - Reply to this comment
